Runner-Up: Papa V Perpetua - Ghost

So this a new one for me. I've never added anything from a band into a Halloween Countdown before! Just goes to show that after nearly 20 years, I can still find something new to add into these things; and speaking of new, Ghost is a fairly new thing in my life, but it's made a very big impact in just a short while. Being given the honorary sport of second place in a Halloween Countdown may mean absolutely nothing to everyone else, but to me, it's one of the highest honors I can give to something. So what exactly gave Ghost such a high ranking place? Well... I don't know really.

I've never had a band that I've connected to quite like Ghost. Maybe it has something to do with it's intriguing lore and gimmick? Maybe it's ironic farce of the church hearkens back to my own religious trauma, giving me a sense of both familiarity and rebellious satisfaction? Maybe the music is just really good. Either way, it's struck a chord with me more than any band has before and has become a pretty big part of my life and with their overall dark theme I knew that eventually I would have to add at least one of the Papas into a Halloween Countdown sooner or later...however that would come sooner, rather than later, what with the reveal of Papa V Perpetua this year, I really had no choice. Sure, I could've drawn any other Papa (preferably one that was far easier to draw) but you gotta strike while the iron was hot!

What else can I say? Sure I could go on and talk about their music. Favorite songs, the intricacies of it all, but I don't wanna was poetic. It just comes down to one simple fact -- all you need is Ghost~! But not actually, because we still have one more day to go and it's not over until the vague-enough-so-you-don't-catch-what-I'm-planning-for-it fat thing sings!
