Chie's favorite teacher and probably the second most important person in her life after her mother. Manzana, or just Manny to friends, is one of the few English teachers at Chie's school and probably the youngest one. He's only been teaching for a couple years, but he loves it. The mouse knows he's lucked out with having moderately well behaved students. He loves cracking jokes with them, catching many off guard with his accent. Being of both Spanish and Scottish heritage has given him a slightly interesting sounding voice. To his students anyways. Certainly makes Chie swoon though!
The pair have a strong bond that has developed over the school year. Manny was caught off guard when the young snow leopard confessed to him after classes one day. The heartfelt and earnest gesture actually moving him. He knew the risks involved with reciprocating her feelings and he certainly wasn't sure if he could say he even did! A few months of hanging out and visiting her home though, and he realized just how fond of her he'd become and so the pair have a secret relationship. Well, kinda.
Chie's mother is well aware of it and has her own issues with it (she wouldn't mind being with him either!). Still, she keeps quiet about it and allows the pair to continue on.
