Nico is a lesser oriental civet / Pancho ia a meerkat
Character Description
Nico: Tawny gold with black and white markings, black hands and feet, standing up ears.
Pancho: Tan with black tip in tail, black edges on ears, rounded ears on sides of head. Pancho was was born with an extra toe on each foot. Meerkats normally have four toes on the hind feet. Pancho was born with five.
Personality
Both easy going and fun loving. Nico is more of the "alpha". Nico is a bit more responsible minded, is curious about things around him. Pancho is a day dreamer, and accepts things at face value.
Likes/Dislikes
They both like anything that is fun and enjoyable. They only dislikes they both have are things that adversely effect them directly. As far as political and moral issues go, those things are a world away from their little world. Nico and Pancho both live a "Hakunah-Matata" way of life.
Background/History
Nico was an only child to his parents in India. Because Nico, and his family, were only a small degree anthropomorphic, they were being poached by mankind when civet poaching was going on pretty bad. After Nico's parents were killed, shortly before Nico became an adult, Nico made his way to a seaport town and stowed away aboard a freighter, not knowing it's destination, as long as it was away from the poachers. The freighter was bound for Africa, and it was there he met Pancho.
Pancho was the lazy one of his meerkat colony, like an uncle before him. Pancho would fall asleep while standing guard, one time almost causing a few colony members to be caught unaware by predatory birds. When Pancho was called upon to help dig more living space for the colony, he would be somewhere goofing off. The others were able to tell where Pancho had been goofing off by his foot tracks, as Pancho has an extra toe other meerkats don't have. But Pancho was always present to participate when someone found where there were insects to eat, sometimes getting ahead of everyone else The others finally got fed up with it, after giving Pancho chance after chance after chance, and banished Pancho from the colony for good. After weeks of wandering, and looking for a place to call home, he met Nico.
Relatives/Family
Nico: Only child, both parents passed away.
Pancho: Mother, dad, four sisters and two older brothers. Pancho is fourth in the birth order.
World/Setting
A place in Africa where there is jungle, and some open plains area nearby.
Body
Nico: Larger at the hips, long tail, tawny gold fur with black hands and feet and other back markings, and off white ventral areas. Upright, black, pointed ears with a single white spot on the back of each ear.
Pancho: Slender build, long tail, tan fur with black tail tip and ear edges. Has extra fifth toe on feet, where meerkats normally have four.
