no.22: NiGHTS (Halloween skin) - NiGHTS into Dreams
What? What's this decidedly non-villainous, unspooky effeminate jester who makes me question my sexuality doing in my Halloween Countdown I hear you asking...or is that just me? Well allow me to explain this somewhat unorthodox entry.

Oh the difference 12 years make...
My mental process was and always has been 'if there's a Christmas NiGHTS, why isn't there a "Halloween NiGHTS" as well?' (Plus they're, ya know literally a sentient nightmare and I think that fits pretty well thematically, if you ask me! In any case, with the a need that needed filling I set forth to do just that. Design a 'Halloween NiGHTS' outfit to parallel Christmas NiGHTS. So imagine my surprise when I learned that in the Steam release of NiGHTS into Dreams they actually did add a seasonal Halloween outfit for them -- a whole year prior to my 2013 Halloween Countdown. Hindsight is 20/20 I guess.
Regardless, of missing the date and having a bit of bias towards my own design over the official one, this always felt like something I needed to correct, so I did just that! I set about to recreate my own entry with NiGHTS' canonical Halloween outfit -- only to find out that NiGHTS into Dreams had been removed from Steam a year prior. Always a step behind...always a step behind.
Despite feeling a bit stupid for having dropped the ball twice in a row, this did have an oddly added bonus of making this picture both a callback to my previous countdown as well as a shout out to lost media, so I guess it all kind of worked out in the end! Gotta' stay positive and until tomorrow, sweet dreams~
