"Will I ever find a Duelist powerful enough to match Yusei?s skills? Surely someone in New Domino City should have at least close to it but everyone I?ve faced since don?t seem to even come close. Have I become too strong for everyone here?" asked Akiza.
"Seems like the only thing that changed is this town. There?s no one here that I can?t beat already. Seems like a bad time to return to Dueling after Dartz and his gang invaded the area. Of course, Joey I suppose could be a good challenge since he?s probably improved since I last Dueled. Though what am I to do with my new Harpie cards if I can?t Duel with them?" thought Mai.
"Careful what you say. Thorns can deliver the pain without remorse. I?ll show you just what a Duelist like me is capable of," stated Akiza.
"Let?s Duel!" declared Akiza and Mai.
"Why don?t I start off this Duel? I discard Harpie Queen from my hand to the Graveyard to add Harpies? Hunting Ground from my Deck to my hand. Next I Summon Cyber Harpie Lady (1800 ATK) in Attack Mode. Then I activate Harpies? Hunting Ground to boost the ATK and DEF of all Winged Beast-Type monsters by 200. Cyber Harpie Lady?s ATK and DEF rise to 2000 and 1500. Next I Set 2 cards to end my turn," stated Mai (Hand: 1 card)
"Not bad I suppose, but I?ll show you how to really Duel. I play Witch of the Black Rose (1700 ATK) in Attack Mode. Due to my monster?s effect, I draw 1 card and reveal it. If it?s not a monster, she self-destructs. She draws her card. Looks like she?s sticking around. Next I play Black Garden, which?ll not only cut the ATK of a Summoned monster in half but will Special Summon a Rose Token to the opposite side of the field. Finally, I?ll Set 1 card to end my turn," stated Akiza. (Hand: 2 cards)
"If that?s your best move, I have this won. I draw and play Elegant Egotist to Special Summon Harpie Lady Sisters (1950 ATK) in Attack Mode," started Mai.
"Oh really? Well I?m afraid I have some bad news for you. I activate Pollinosis! By Tributing my Plant-Type Rose Token, your Harpie Lady Sisters never officially hits the field! countered Akiza. Harpie Lady Sisters disappears from the field.
"Well then I?ll give my Cyber Harpie Lady a boost with my face-down Cyber Shield, raising its 500! Cyber Harpie?s ATK rises to 2500. Cyber Harpie, take down Witch of the Black Rose!" said Mai.
"I discard Hedge Guard to prevent my monster?s destruction but its ATK becomes halved," responded Akiza. Witch of the Black Rose is not destroyed and its ATK drops to 850 while Akiza?s score drops to 6350. I?ll end my turn with that," said Mai. (Hand: 0 cards)
"I?ll play Wall of Ivy (1200 DEF) in Defense Mode. Then I?ll use Seed of Deception to Special Summon Copy Plant (0 ATK) in Attack Mode," started Akiza.
"Well then I?ll get 2 Rose Tokens," added Mai. 2 Rose Tokens appear on Mai?s field.
"That won?t be a problem because I use Mark of the Rose to gain control of your Cyber Harpie Lady by banishing the Hedge Guard in my Graveyard. Cyber Harpie Lady moves to Akiza?s field. Now I use your Cyber Harpie Lady and my Wall of Ivy and Copy Plant to Synchro Summon Black Rose Dragon (1200 ATK) in Attack Mode! A 3rd Rose Token appears on Mai?s field. Now I use Black Rose Dragon?s ability. Every card on the field is destroyed! All cards are destroyed. With that, I end my turn," continued Akiza. (Hand: 0 cards)
"I draw, then Set 1 card to end my turn," stated Mai. (Hand: 0 cards)
"Then I?ll draw and play Rose, Warrior of Revenge (1600 ATK) in Attack Mode. Attack Mai directly!" Mai?s LP drops to 6400. Make your move, if you think you can," resumed Akiza. (Hand: 0 cards)
"I activate Monster Reborn to revive Cyber Harpie Lady in Attack Mode. Cyber Harpie, take out Rose, Warrior of Revenge! Rose is destroyed and Akiza is down to 6150 LP. That?ll do it for me," concluded Mai. (Hand: 0 cards)
"You?re starting to prove your worth Dueling me, but this isn?t over yet. I Summon Blue Rose Dragon (1200 DEF) in Defense Mode and end my turn," remarked Akiza. (Hand: 0 cards)
"Well so far you?re not impressing me that much, hon.
"We?ll see about that. I still have some thorns to dish out to you," replied Akiza.
