"Will I ever find a Duelist powerful enough to match Yusei?s skills? Surely someone in New Domino City should have at least close to it but everyone I?ve faced since don?t seem to even come close. Have I become too strong for everyone here?" asked Akiza.
"Akiza, you?ll find someone else. Not all Duelists are weak but even if they are, that doesn?t mean you can?t learn from them," assured Yusei.
"Of course, they won?t be a match for me. That?s reserved for you, Yusei," added Jack.
"Thanks, Jack but I?m not concerned with that right now. What matters is getting Akiza a challenge. She?s been like this for the past few days," replied Yusei.
"It?s almost like she?s gone back to the past when she was feared by everyone," stated Leo.
"Leo, don?t bring that up. It?s nothing but bad memories," protested Luna.
"It?s fine, Luna. I?ve gotten over that now. Besides, people don?t fear me for my abilities but for my skills as a Duelist," noted Akiza. [Meanwhile...]
"Seems like the only thing that changed is this town. There?s no one here that I can?t beat already. Seems like a bad time to return to Dueling after Dartz and his gang invaded the area. Of course, Joey I suppose could be a good challenge since he?s probably improved since I last Dueled. Though what am I to do with my new Harpie cards if I can?t Duel with them?" thought Mai.
"Mai, long time no see," called Joey rushing over with the others.
"Well speak of the devil. I was just considering you to be a relatively decent challenge for me, Joey," admitted Mai.
"Well ya did technically beat me last time. Of course that was because I couldn?t continue the Duel as it was after my Duel with Valon," recalled Joey.
"I don?t really count that one. I wasn?t myself back then. Besides, I think I need an excuse to try out my new Harpie cards," continued Mai.
"Well that?d give me a chance to show my own new cards," agreed Joey.
"Think you?re tough do ya?" questioned Akiza overhearing the conversation.
"You sure sound confident," remarked Mai.
"You better believe I am and I want to see what you?re made of as a Duelist. Can you handle a Turbo Duelist?" replied Akiza.
"Turbo Duelist? What on earth is that?" questioned Mai.
"I Duel using this Duel Runner," explained Akiza.
"Ugh, looks more like an outdated motorcycle. Not something I?d ever ride. Besides, there?s no way that?s a safe way to Duel," analyzed Mai.
"You?re not scared are you?" questioned Akiza.
"Of course not. I don?t even have one of those contraptions anyway and even if I did, I wouldn?t know how to use it," assured Mai.
"There?s more to it than just learning how to ride it. There?s Dueling rules too," noted Akiza.
"What kind of rules?" asked Joey.
"For one, your only usable Spell Cards are Speed Spell Cards. These are special Spell Cards that revolve around an equally special Field Spell Card called Speed World 2 by having activation requirements that include Speed Counters. These Speed Counters are a measurement of your actual speed. The more counters you have, the faster you can go in the Duel," explained Yusei.
"I don?t have any of those Speed Spells either and wouldn?t even know how to use them anyway. If you?re here to Duel me, let?s Duel on solid ground," suggested Mai.
"Fine but I think you?re going to find this rose has several thorns to add to your side," warned Akiza.
"Like your big ego," countered Mai.
"Careful what you say. Thorns can deliver the pain without remorse. I?ll show you just what a Duelist like me is capable of," stated Akiza.
"Let?s Duel!" declared Akiza and Mai.
