"Interplanetary friendship"

"Someone want talk?" were the first English words heard from an odd spaceship that had landed on Earth as a group went to investigate it. One of them was Nasir, and being the most interested of the group, he was the first to go to a window to have a look at whoever was inside. Sure enough, it was an alien of some kind! They sort of looked spider-ish with 8 legs, but also with gills, antennae, and a centaur-style extra torso with a couple arms. "Sorry if scare. Not good at talk to new-planet-people." Of course, Nasir wasn't scared, loving the chance to talk to something so strange.

After a while of conversation, the alien made Nasir an offer. "New-planet-friend want come in ship?" Nasir obviously agreed, and after the alien opened up the entrance for him, he eagerly went in. Instead of an airlock, the ship seemed to have some kind of energy field keeping its water inside. "Inside ship maybe not good for friend breathing. Hold breath!" Nasir nodded, got a deep breath, and jumped through the energy into the ship, ready to learn as much as he could and show his new friend what his wand could do.

squirtlerocks07 and I did an RP based on this.

S: on a weird day, a spaceship had suddenly landed on Earth, and a group of curious individuals who were brave enough to investigate it came over to it, one of them was a Gible, who's always enjoyed seeing weird stuff that happens, even tho it doesnt happen too often, he's wondering what this spaceship was doing here

L: A toucan, Nasir, is also there, looking the most excited of the group. "Whoever's ship this is, they must not want to attack, or they wouldn't let us get so close... Man, I can't wait to see what they look like!"

S: Gible - "I know right?! I bet they are gonna look so cool! I'm excited to see!"

L: Nasir cautiously goes up to one of the ship's windows and looks inside. "Looks like it might be full of water in there... But I don't see anyone just yet."

S: "Full of water??? Oh i hope not..." the gible jumps up to get a better view to see if there's anyone in there

L: Nasir taps on the window. "Hello? Anyone in there?"

After a few seconds, the two see an odd creature inside the ship walking toward the window they're at; a greenish-blue body, 8 legs, antennae, and a vertical torso extending from an otherwise horizontal body. Without a doubt, this is the alien that owns the ship!

Alien: "Hello new-planet-people! Nice to meet!"

S: "Whoaaa...a real alien!!! No way!!! I never thought I see the day! And he looks relatively friendly too!"

L: Nasir's face lights up at seeing the alien. "Oh, you look so cool! You even know English!"

Alien: "You both friendly-cool too! And not know Eng-lish, translate tool in head. Gets better with hearing language."

S: "Oh ok that makes sense, still thats really cool! I wanna get to know everything about you! And im sure this toucan here would too, sorry don't know your name... I'm Gibby by the way"

L: Nasir: "Oh, right, I'm Nasir."

Alien: "Good to meet Gibby and Nasir! Name Taro, want learn lots from you too!"

S: "Nice to officially meet you Nasir, and you too Taro! Wow, this is awesome! Well, I definitely wanna get to know you taro, maybe start by letting us see inside your ship? thats hopefully not full of water..."
Gibby said that last line under his breath so nobody hears it

L: Nasir: "That'd be great, yeah, I'd love to see what your ship is like!"

Taro: "Friends can come in, yes! But, inside ship maybe not safe for friends breathing... Good at hold breath?"

S: "What?!?! Oh no... I guess it really was water... I'm doomed..." Gibby frowns disappointingly

L: Nasir holds up his wand, which Gibby and Taro likely won't recognize as a wand. "I can hold my breath pretty well as long as I've got this on me, but I guess Gibby's not a fan of being underwater..."

Taro: "Taro keep Gibby safe, don't worry! Leave entrance open, Gibby can go breathe whenever need!"

S: "Lucky... ugh, I don't know guys... me and water just don't work together... I can't go underwater, breath holding is too scary for me!"

L: Nasir: "I guess I can understand that, you're not the first person I've met that's afraid of water... And you're definitely not going to be the first person I've failed to convince to try out diving. Even if you're scared, you can't just pass up on an opportunity to see the inside of an alien's spaceship!"

Taro: "Maybe Gibby at least look through entrance? Can see inside better, maybe help with fear."

S: Gibby sighs
"I know, ive waited all my life to see something weird and cool, I'm finally gonna get it, but why does it have to be underwater?? I don't know what to do, i wanna see inside it i really do..."

L: Nasir: "This is going to be worth it, believe me. Not long after you get in there, you're gonna start feeling a lot better, you just have to get this initial part over with."

Taro: "Yeah, once hard part over, Gibby maybe have fun!"

S: Gibby contemplates on this, but eventually...he makes his decision
"Oh fine! I'll do it... but I won't like being underwater! No matter what!"

L: Nasir: "Well, hopefully that's not going to impact your enjoyment of this too much..."

Taro: "Taro will open entrance, and Nasir and Gibby can come in." He walks away from the window, and soon the entrance of the ship opens up.

S: gibby walks up to the front enternce of the ship, shivering in fear as he did, now unsure if he can truly do this

L: Nasir follows Gibby there. While it at first seems like an airlock, there's some kind of energy field not far in, which Taro is behind.

Taro: "This field hold in water, so easy to get in and out fast."

Nasir: "Oh, neat! And sounds like we won't have to dry off when we leave, too!"

S: "I-i guess that's nice..." gibby sighs heavily

"I really dont know anymore..."

L: Nasir: "Well, let's at least get in there for now. I'm sure we'll find something cool for us to check out and help distract you from being scared."

Taro: "Taro will show you around, hopefully help you relax."

S: "A-alright...I wanted to do this after all, so I gotta just get over my fear..."

L: Nasir: "Would it help if I went in ahead of you? That should make it even more clear that it's safe in there... And it's not just because I'm really excited and want to just get in there."

S: "I-i guess you can do that yeah... might help me out a bit further if I knew it was safe to be underwater"

L: Nasir: "Alright, one sec." After experimentally passing his hand through the energy field, he takes a deep breath and jumps inside the ship. It's definitely underwater, as he floats a bit and bubbles come from his beak, but he's perfectly fine.

Taro: "See? Nothing to be scared of!"

S: "Yep, I guess it really is underwater" Gibby comes closer, but not close enough to be in the water just yet, delaying this a bit further

L: Nasir sticks his head out of the water. "It's perfectly fine in here, it's nice and warm! And, also, I should probably tell you, I know a lot of water magic, so I think I'll be able to help you talk underwater if you want."

S: "Its warm?? Oh, that actually might help me a bit more if you can do that" gibby sticks his arm in the water and is it indeed warm
"That does feel nice..."

L: Taro: "The planet I'm from is a bit warmer than this one, so I'm glad the temperature is comfortable for you."

Nasir: "Sounds like a nice place... Anyway, are you ready to give this a shot, Gibby?"

S: "Well, i guess so... as scared as I am..." closing his eyes, gibby takes a last deep breath, pinching his nose shut before jumping into the ship, submerging underwater as he whimpers fearfully

L: Smiling, Nasir goes fully into the water again and gives his wand a quick wave, making a blue light briefly surround Gibby. "Right, you should be able to talk clearly now."

Taro: "I guess that must not be a normal thing for people that don't breathe water, huh?"

S: even tho gibby could talk now, he was too scared to speak underwater at all, all of his focus was on holding his breath, his face was already fully red with the amount of bubbles hes releasing, his eyes still closed as he was still whimpering in fear

L: Taro: "Woah, you can change color?"

Nasir: "In a really limited way, yeah. I think he's too scared to hold his breath properly..." He gently brings Gibby back out of the water again.

S: gibby gasps hard for breath when he can
"Hah...hah...hah, see thats what I was worried about! I told you I'm not good at this stuff!"

L: Nasir: "I'm not sure what else I could do to make this better for you..."

Taro: "Do the people here do something to comfort others? That's a thing where I'm from, but the version for my species involves our antennae, so it won't work for you."

S: "Well, most of the time here people would hug each other to calm down, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesnt, but I'm willing to try anything to relax so I can explore your ship! Anything!"

L: Taro: "Um... Don't know what a hug is."

Nasir: "It's this." He gets out of the water and gives Gibby a hug.

Taro: "Ah, okay..."

S: Gibby hugs Nasir back, already starting to feel a little better from that

"Yep, thats a hug"

L: Taro: "Alright, let me try joining in." He takes a deep breath and holds it before stepping out of the water, stumbling for a moment as he adjusts to standing on his full weight. He then joins in on the hug, somewhat awkwardly putting his arms around Nasir and Gibby.

Nasir: "Yep, that feels about right!"

S: "Wow, I didnt think I would ever get a hug from a real alien! I feel so much better!" Gibby happily hugs Taro back
"Heh, you look kind of cute holding your breath too Taro, m-maybe I would look cute doing it too..."

L: Taro nods, smiling with puffed cheeks. Once the hug ends, he goes back into the water to breathe again.

Nasir: "Do you want to try again now?"

S: "Uhhh, y-yeah sure! I'll try again! Ive got this! I know I can do this!"

L: Nasir: "Right, let's go before this new courage gets a chance to wear off. Get some deep breaths, it'll help you hold your breath longer." He starts breathing deeply.

Taro: "Yep, take as long as you need."

S: "Ok, ok!" gibby starts to breathe deeply as well, trying to calm down his racing heart

L: After a while, Nasir is fully ready again. "Maybe we should go in at the same time, that'll probably help."

S: "Good idea...I don't wanna back out at the last second again..."

L: Nasir: "Alright, let's try it. 3, 2, 1..." He holds his breath and jumps back into the water.

S: after just a little hesitation, gibby holds his breath as well and jumps into the water as well, but this time around hes a lot more calm

L: Taro: "I can already tell you're doing a lot better, Gibby!"

Nasir turns to look at Gibby, smiling. "Ah, yep, that did it! And remember, you've got that spell going that'll let you talk clearly here."

S: gibby nods and lets a few bubbles loose
"I guess being here isnt so bad... but I'm still a little nervous, maybe we should start the ship tour to take my mind off of it"

L: Taro: "Right, yeah, that should help. Come with me!" He starts walking along the bottom to show Nasir and Gibby around.

Nasir happily follows, looking at all the strange technology nearby.

S: gibby follows as well, smiling as swims around, his movements arent the best but they arent the worse either, although his face was turning red already since he really does suck at breath holding, but he tries to not think about it

L: Taro leads the two into what sort of looks like a bedroom... Which he quickly confirms. "This here's my bedroom. I've got some books and games, but you guys wouldn't be able to read anything here."

Nasir: "Believe me, if anyone's gonna be up for learning your written language, it's gonna be me. I know magic that can help too, but it takes a while to set up."

S: "Don't have time for that! Especially when were submerged, heh..."
Gibby keeps swimming around the place, looking at anything that may catch his attention
"So um, taro...what planet are you even from?"

L: Taro: "It's called Pasolis. There's barely any land there, it's kind of weird to be seeing so much here... Other than that it's not too different, pretty similar gravity and temperature."

Nasir: "I definitely have to go there sometime..."

S: "In a place that there's fully water? Uhh, good luck convincing me to go there, its bad enough that I'm in this area of water, which...mmm! I gotta breathe!" he covers his mouth before swimming back to the enternce and jumping out to gasp for breath, not wanting to push himself

L: Taro and Nasir follow him back, with Nasir catching his breath as well.

Taro: "I guess you must not be all that good at holding your breath. Honestly, neither am I, I can only go a few minutes."

S: "Hah...hah... my little lungs are already so tired...I can probably only last 4 minutes to be honest, but it was really cool seeing your ship Taro, and your so cool! I cant wait to tell my friends about you!"

L: Taro: "And I'm gonna tell mine too! I'll stick around here for a few days while I study this region of the planet, then probably go somewhere else on it. Oh, that reminds me, what do you call this planet?"

Nasir: "It's called Earth, and I'm sure you'll be welcome to stay here a while!"

S: "Yeah! Definitely, ooh man...I need to go lay down for a while, that breath holding knocked the wind out of me but listen it was so cool meeting you taro, and you as well Nasir, if you ever do decide to go to the planet where Taro is from, let me know"
with that, Gibby waves goodbye and leaves, and it seems like many more people from the group want to see inside Taro's ship too

L: Nasir sticks around to explore the ship, and Taro happily allows the newcomers to take a look around too, taking the opportunity to learn more about the people of Earth.
