"Shared curiosity"
In a large pond in a forest's grove, a plant/animal hybrid - now named Iggy, thanks to a new friend - slowly surveyed the area, making sure no parasites had gotten at the underwater plants there. After about half an hour, they were satisfied, and sat down on a bed of algae to relax, thankful that the day's sunlight would let them hold their breath a few hours longer. They closed their eyes... Then quickly opened them again as they heard a splash, one that was too big to not be an animal of some kind. After a quick look around, they discovered what it was.
A green eastern dragon had entered the water, clearly having intended to explore before noticing Sunny. They came over to the plant-iguana to get a better look, and Sunny took in the sight as well. This dragon hadn't been in the grove before that Sunny knew of, but like always, they were willing to give them a chance. After pointing toward the surface, Sunny and the dragon headed up to talk, each eager to learn about the other.
