A middle-aged man was walking through the corridors, while a crowd of people was working in the various offices of the building he was in, and from the mood of the people, there must be a pretty bad situation right now.
"Mister Mayor, here is the total list of damages with expenses." One of the people handed the man some papers.
"Good heavens." Said the man, looking at the figures. “And I thought that the damage they did was exaggerated. And where are they now?"
"They are waiting for you in your office, Mr. Mayor." His companion answered him.
“Okay, let's finish as soon as possible. Do you have the names of the group?"
“Yes sir, here they are. Although one of them goes by herself."
The mayor took the document with the name as he walked to the office, opening the door, seeing who was inside.
Kairi, Rena, Edea, Eve, Nina, and Priere, who were in the room, turned when the Mayor entered.
"Let's get things clear, to begin with." The mayor began. “I'm usually a reasonable person, but I have to understand things first. So if you don't mind…” He said as he moved around the office and sat in his chair. "Can you tell me how on earth a group of young ladies, apparently not carrying state-of-the-art weapons, have been able to cause so much damage on the thirteenth floor... of the damn Empire State Building!?"
"It was not our fault, Mr. Mayor." Kairi said.
"That’s right!" Edea exclaimed. "We were there, peacefully when the Fallen appeared and-"
"Yeah, fine, whatever." The mayor interrupted. "But that does not quit the damage caused: splintered furniture, broken lamps, smashed clocks, walls that seem to have been pierced with a machine gun, torn pictures, holes in the floor, holes in the ceiling..."
The mayor listed all the damage caused after a meeting of the girls with the Fallen in that building, where they appeared following his new lead. Obviously, the girls were trying to explain the reason for such material damage.
"Not to mention, and according to a witness saw, a very old piano that flew out of the window, taking with it, a giant lizard?" The Mayor asked.
"Ah, about that, it wasn't any of us." Eve answered. "It was her doing."
Eve turned her head to one corner of the room, and the others soon did the same. When the Mayor looked around that corner, he found a young girl with brown hair and hazel eyes, who was wearing an orange jacket with a collar and folded sleeves, which revealed what looked like black suspender panties with a fabric similar to a skirt. orange that lets out most of her buttocks, long black stockings, little orange boots with a yellow toe, and a pair of orange and black gloves. The most remarkable thing about her was both the squirrel ears on her head and the large squirrel tail she carried behind her. The girl acted as if she was trying to play dumb with a hand on her head.
"And you are?" The mayor asked the squirrel girl.
"Oh! My name is Makoto. Makoto Nanaya, sir." The girl replied.
The mayor let out an exasperated sigh as he lowered his head with his hands to his face. "My lord, as if it wasn't enough..."
“Look, Mr. Mayor. Don't worry, we pay what it takes." Kairi said.
"Seriously? But if the damages amount to hundreds of thousands of dollars! " The mayor exclaimed, looking at Kairi.
"Just tell us the cost in Munny, and we'll see." Kairi said, hoping that the Munny-Dollar value would be affordable to pay for the damages.
“Munny? We haven't used that currency here for decades!" The mayor said.
"It can’t be!" Edea exclaimed.
The girls began to argue about the situation, while Makoto stared at them with concern.
"Enough, enough, enough!" The mayor ordered in a loud voice for everyone to be quiet. "I have an idea. All of you will do community service until you pay for the damage caused."
"Community Services?" Priere asked.
"He says that we will have to work to pay the damages unless we want to go to prison." Eve answered.
"Ah, okay, understood." The demon woman replied.
"Now that that detail is clear..." began the mayor. “Apparently your thing is to fight monsters, isn't it?"
"Yes, that's it is." Nina replied.
"Well, then I think I know where I'm going to put you all." Said the mayor folding his hands.

"Ghostbusters."
Kairi read the sign for a huge building on the corner of a street, appearing at first glance to be a fire station if it weren't for the strange sign of a white puppet inside a red circle with a line dividing the circle in two.
"This must be a joke." Edea said. "Do we really have to work here?"
"If we want to pay the debt, yes." Nina replied.
"You have gotten us into a lot of trouble, miss!" Priere said angrily, looking back at the squirrel girl.
“Hey, it's not my fault. You are also partly to blame." The squirrel girl replied.
"That’s right. We are all in this for the same reason." Rena said, calming Priere down. “I'm sorry we dragged you into this. Umm, Makoto, right? "
"Yes, Makoto Nanaya!" Makoto said with a smile.
"Good. It's clear that you're not from this world either, right? " Rena asked.
"That's it. Let's say I was sightseeing. How did you know?" Makoto asked. At that moment Eve, Nina, and Priere turned, and together with Rena, they looked at her with a deadpan making one thing clear: an elf, a robot, a woman with black wings, and a demon were looking at a squirrel woman. "Okay, okay, I get it." The squirrel girl said with some tension.
Kairi continued to stare at the strange building while Edea looked with a raised eyebrow at the situation of the non-human girls until Eve approached Kairi.
"I think I have a clue of what we are looking for." Eve said. "Do you remember the phrase Yen Sid told us before we left?"
"Which one? 'Are you afraid of the ghosts'? " Edea asked.
"Yes. Noticing the advertisements that are often seen in the city, I had the ship sweep through the advertisements that usually appear, and that phrase is often used by a specific agency." Eve said.
"And what is that agency?" Kairi asked.
Eve simply glanced at the sign on the building, causing the others, including Makoto, to look at the building.
"You're kidding, aren't you?" Edea said.
"Well look, we already have half the job done." Priere said.
"This, I know I'm not from the group but, can you explain what happens?" Makoto asked the girls.
"I think you at least deserve to know why we are here." Kairi guessed, Nina being the one to explain to the squirrel woman a summary of her situation.
The girls entered the building, noting what was around them, including a huge white car that Eve labeled an old remodeled hearse, now with sirens on top and the agency's emblem on the doors. It didn't take long for them to realize that there was a receptionist at the back of the room when a phone rang where the woman was standing, she picked it up at the same time she was filing her nails.
"Ghostbuster. Is your haunting an apparition, poltergeist, phantasm, wraith, Banshee, demon, spectre, tortured soul or...? " the woman said on the phone until she seemed to be interrupted by the other side. "What? No, we do not summon dead family members then catch them so you can ask the combination to the safe... Yeah, well, same to you, pal." And then she hung up the phone.
While the woman argued, Rena and Edea saw how a strange green ghost inside a glass box was playing to guess the card she had, without much success. A scene that left both confused without a doubt.
The woman soon noticed the presence of the girls, who seemed to be somewhat lost in the building. “Ah, it's you. The city hall has already informed us. The boys are upstairs. By the way, you have access to the fridge, but I wouldn't touch anything that you hadn't put there before, especially if it looks like cottage cheese. "
The girls were more confused after the receptionist's words but decided to go upstairs.
There they saw that the floor was used for everything, both as a living room, bedroom, kitchen, and laboratory, surprising Eve on how anyone could live up there. After doing some research they saw three men who appeared to be working there, one of them working on a strange mechanical backpack that the other was carrying.
"Hey! They are the new cadets. Welcome aboard! " Said the man with the backpack on his back.
"Cadets? I think you were wrong, sir. We-"
"This might be a little dangerous." Said the bespectacled man fiddling with the backpack, ignoring Edea's complaint.
"Great. Danger is our life." Said the first.
“We’ll start at fifty-percent capacity. That should keep any burning or tissue damage to a minimum. " Said the man with glasses as he worked with the backpack.
"Hey, gentlemen. Can you attend? " Rena asked. "We are here for the town hall."
"And that means you are now under our supervision." Said a third man approaching them. "And therefore you have to do what we say."
Some of the girls felt that what the man said had ulterior motives.
"Hey, at least we want to know your names if we want to get along." Kairi said.
"She’s right." Said the man with the backpack. "I am Dr. Raymond Stantz, although you can call me Ray, he is Dr. Egon Spengler, and he is Dr. Peter Venkman."
For whatever reason, they didn't see Peter as a doctor in their opinion.
"And the receptionist's name is Janine Melnitz. Remember that, okay?" Peter said to the girls
"We will take that into account, ‘doctor'.." Priere said, almost mocking him.
"Well, who are you? The city council didn't tell us much about you ladies." Peter said.
"I am Kairi, and they are Edea, Rena, Eve, Nina, and Priere." Kairi said, introducing the girls.
"And I am Makoto." Makoto introduced himself.
"My pleasure, and I must say that, except for a few of you, you are truly my type." Peter said, backing away a bit when he saw how Priere slammed her fist into his hand with an irritated face.
"Come on, let's be nice for once on their first day, okay Peter?" Ray said.
"Okay, whatever you say, Ray."
"Well, now that everything is cleared up, we should try to find them clothes that are their size." Egon said.
"Are you seriously expecting us to wear that?" Priere asked, arching an eyebrow as she looked at the Ghostbusters outfit.
“It is the standard uniform that we all wear. It protects us from basic residual contamination from ghosts, as well as being necessary to carry the proton pack necessary to capture paranormal entities." Egon explained.
"I'm sorry, but we're not going to wear that suit or that thing on our back. It seems too heavy for any of us." Edea said.
"And I highly doubt that it is comfortable to move around." Makoto said, looking at both the suit and the proton equipment.
"See, Ray? That's why I told you that we should design a uniform for women." Peter said.
"Yeah, but your ideas didn't fit into the general idea of the uniform." Ray said, making the girls think about what kind of design Peter had come up with for said uniform.
“Look, we'll make it very clear, okay? We are not going to carry that, and there must be an alternative to that… thing." Edea said.
“And what do you propose, ladies? It's the only thing we have. " Peter said with a scowl on his face.
"I think I can help with that." Eve said.
For a while, Eve and Egon discussed possible alternatives to carrying the seemingly heavy proton pack, until they reached a mutual conclusion.
"Yes, it is possible, but I still have my doubts." Egon said, nodding his head.
"Have you come up with a solution, Egon?" Ray asked.
"As long as I don’t  have to go out with that heavy thing, I’m fine." Edea warned.
“Based on the data that I have acquired and after various calculations, it is very likely that the use of the proton pack is not needed. Those who are capable of using non-physical paranormal abilities- "
"Sorry, what? Non-physical paranormal abilities?" Kairi asked, confused by the term Egon used.
"I think it refers to magic." Makoto replied.
"Ah!" Kairi nodded after the reply.
“As I was saying, those who are capable of using non-physical paranormal abilities, or in this case magic, could use those abilities to bind paranormal entities and drag them into traps if possible, while those who focus more on the melee combat could face them head-on thanks to the mystical weapon that Kairi possesses, although I must reiterate that such action would be very irresponsible since trying to hit a ghost or similar non-physically corporeal entity would be the same as trying to catch and contain the light with one hand. And I still do not know if all this is viable, so I will not be able to give a verdict until I see such weapon." Egon explained.
"You heard it, ladies." Peter said, high-fiving his hands. "Now to get in the suits and catch the equipment."
"Not so fast, Dr. Venkman!" Rena said. “What we can offer remains to be seen. Right, Kairi?"
Kairi nodded her head and reached out to invoke her Keyblade in her hand, surprising the three scientists present, although the most astonished were Ray and Egon.
“By all the saints. Is this what I think it is?" Ray asked in amazement at the weapon. "I had read about these kinds of weapons, but had never seen one with my own eyes."
“Wow, I wasn't expecting it. A five-foot key appeared out of nowhere. You would be a good illusionist, lady." Peter said.
“You don't understand, Peter. This item is a very rare weapon, and very, very powerful." Egon said, pulling one of the gauges from him and moving it around the Keyblade.
"I've never seen someone get like this for a Keyblade." Kairi said, seeing Ray and Egon's reaction.
"Keyblade?" Asked Peter. “I understand about the key part, but where is the blade? I don't see any. "
“In my opinion, it is a misnomer, but that does not remove its main functionality, is a weapon whose power would far exceed our current equipment. And now that I see the data for this weapon, I see that the alternative is more than viable." Egon said after inspecting the Keyblade.
"We better do, it was forged from the feathers of the Phoenix." Edea said.
"What?!" Ray asked in surprise upon hearing Edea.
"Relax Ray, or you will have a heart attack and we will have to put you in the containment unit." Peter said before turning to the girls. “Okay, you girls got away this time. But do not forget that we are in command, understand? "
"You are being very stubborn, you know that?!" Rena, Priere and Makoto exclaimed at the same time.
Suddenly a huge wave of energy passed through the building, causing a small tremor in the place, surprising everyone who was inside.
"Was that us?" Egon asked, confused.
"Not us, of course." Nina said, looking from side to side.
"Ray?" Peter asked Ray.
“Hat to be some sort of Psi energy pulse. Substantial!" Ray said. "A significant collected and centralized necromantic convulsion level seven or more."
"Great, we left a problem to enter into a fatter one." Edea said, complaining.
"Easy Edea." Kairi said.
"Agree. We need EMF measurement checks now. " Egon said manipulating the reader of him.
After this, Janine went upstairs. “I know the answer, but I’m gonna ask anyway... is a level seven, uh, whatever… bad? Or very bad?"
Egon turned as he did his data tracking. "On a scale of 1 to 10, I would say..."
"Let me guess. It's a seven." Peter finished.
"Great, this is going to be fun." Priere said, shaking her head.
"Be thankful that it is not a nine." Nina said to Priere.
"Let's just say we’re about to get real busy." Ray told Janine.
"And that is not the fun kind of getting busy - is it, Ray?" Asked Peter.
"Just what we didn't want." Edea said. "I was hoping to get through this work time without problems."
“Well, it is obvious. If you don't work, you won't pay the debt with the city hall. " Peter said.
Suddenly they heard how something began to crack on the floor below and everyone ran up the stairs, seeing how the green ghost escaped from the glass, soon emerging through the door of the building.
"Look out. Slimer’s escaped again! " Ray warned.
“Slimer? What a weird name." Edea said.
"No, wait. Come back." Peter said reluctantly and not caring that the ghost had already left.
For a few seconds, people stayed in place without saying anything.
"Can someone tell me where that amorphous potato has gone?" Priere asked, finally breaking the silence.
“To the Sedgewick Hotel. It's the first place that little spud will go. " Ray replied.
"Right. Back to its initial manifestation point." Egon said.
"So we're going there now, right?" Kairi asked.
"Yes, but the angel and the demon will stay here today." Peter said.
"And why?" Priere asked.
"Is it not obvious? You would scare everyone in the hotel with your looks. At least the demon woman." Peter said.
"What about the squirrel girl?"
“She could pass. She looks like one of those people who dress up like animals."
"What I have to hear." Priere moaned angrily.
"Don't worry, you'll see how we'll be back soon." Kairi said, getting into the car, along with the rest of the girls, although the space was somewhat tight.
“They’ve got a very good buffet.” Pete told Janine. "It is a great one. When Winston returns from the opera, extend an invitation to join us at our table at the Sedgewick." Then she addressed the girls getting into the vehicle. “Hey you! You’re up, buddies! Try not to destroy too many Manhattan landmarks... "
“Was that a joke? Because that's why we are in this mess." Rena said.
After everyone got in, Peter started the car, exiting the building, and driving at full speed with the car alarm on, until he parked in front of a large luxury hotel.

When they arrived at the Sedgewick Hotel, everyone got out of the vehicle, and after entering the building they were greeted by someone who appeared to be the hotel manager, looking angry.
“That disgusting green blob is back up on the 12th floor again, wreaking havoc! I demand a refund right now!" The manager demanded.
Then Peter addressed the manager "Sir, if you check the fine print on our invoice..."
"Invoices." Ray corrected Peter.
“Right, invoices… you’ll see that your warranty on re-haunting expired some time ago. You should’ve taken the extended service agreement. "
After that the group entered while the manager walked away, quite annoyed by the situation.
"I’m getting some interesting PKE spikes here." Egon said as he watched his detector. "Disturbances don’t seems to be exclusive to the 12th floor. I’d like the chance to look around the building a little more."
"Good. Dig up what you want. That little greenie shouldn’t cause us too much trouble." Ray said. “But just in case we split the rookies. Kairi and Makoto will come with me and Peter. While the others will stay with you. Agree?"
"No problem on my part." Kairi said.
"Okay, good for me." Makoto replied.
"Hey." Rena called the two Ghostbusters. “Be careful with her, okay? You have no idea how valuable she is."
"We will treat it like gold on cloth." Peter said in his sarcastic tone.
"Are you sure that will work?" Eve asked Egon.
“The PKE Meter is a piece of equipment that allows the measurement of ectoplasm radiation, thus detecting the degree of power that a ghost has or measuring whether a structure, person, or object has been in contact with ghostly entities. And until today it has not failed us." Egon explained.
"Maybe I can make our Gummi Ship be used as a radar to track such radiation." Eve suggested.
"It wouldn’t be a good idea." Egon rejected. "The level of ectoplasmic radiation varies according to paranormal activity, so a sudden increase in activity would increase radiation, even creating a screen that could make the signals we are looking for invisible. In the event of such an event, the PKE Meter can be adjusted to detect the signal we are looking for, ignoring residual signals. "
"I haven’t understood anything of what he has said." Edea said to Rena.
While Egon's group continued to investigate the main floor, Ray and Kairi's group went to the elevators, and as they approached one of the doors it opened, leaving a woman, to whom Peter approached.
"Well, hello. You’re perfectly safe now, miss. The Ghostbusters have here." Peter said to the woman, as if he was trying to woo her, although the woman seemed more upset than anything else.
“Back off, loser. Never gonna happen." The woman said, walking away from Peter.
"Haha. That approach rarely works with me. I’ll show you why later. " Peter said cheerfully.
"Is he always like this?" Kairi asked Ray, but Ray only shrugged, causing both her and Makoto to worry.
The four of them entered the elevator, the men in front and the girls behind, as it went up the floors.
"Alright, ladies, get ready." Ray said to the girls.
"Dr. Stantz, if you’d do the honors? " Peter asked Ray.
"Proud to, Dr. Venkman. " Ray replied, activating his proton pack.
"Part of our settlement  with the city: proton packs must remain off in heavily populated public areas." Veckman said to Kairi and Makoto. "And that includes mainly destructive abilities in your case."
“And in close quarters. It minimizes the city’s liabilities and satisfies the restraining order the maid here had put on us." Ray explained as they reached the 12th floor and walked through the door.
“World we live in today. You shoot a proton stream of highly charged particles at someone… they get all sue-happy. " Venkman said.
They were both walking when suddenly a luggage cart gets stuck in an adjoining corridor, and without warning Peter fires his gun at the cart, scaring the bellhop who was carrying the cart.
"Nice. Now we got another plaintiff. " Venkman said.
"And that is bad?" Makoto asked. "And if you had hit him?"
"Occupational hazards." Venkman replied.
Kairi shook her head as she walked, just as she unannounced some of the hallway doors slammed shut, while ghoulish laughter rang out from the surroundings.
"What the...!" Kairi exclaimed when the door was about to hit her in the face.
"Are you okay?" Ray asked.
"For now..." Kairi muttered.
Kairi and Makoto followed the Ghostbusters through the hallways of the plant until they turned a corner to find Slimer feasting on food from a service cart.
“Alright… show time. We wear him out, then we capture him. That's what the proton beam is for. " Ray said. "But in your case, maybe Kairi knows of an alternative to wearing the little spud."
Kairi nodded and pointed her Keyblade at Slimer, wondering which spell would be most useful, deciding to use Thundaga. But unfortunately, the attack missed the target, causing him to panic and fly off, smashing through a wall and leaving a sticky trail on him.
"You’ve got him on the run!" Ray exclaimed when he saw the ghost run away. "C’mon, let's go! Peter! "
“Nah, I've seen this one already. Know how it ends. " Peter refused. “You two have fun though. I’ll cover the elevators and escort any ladies safely to their rooms."
"Okay, whatever." Makoto said with an expressionless face.
"And now how do we follow it?" Kairi asked.
"Leave this to me, ladies." Ray said, pulling the tracking equipment off him. “With this equipment, we will be able to detect the entity we are looking for. So- What the...!" Without warning, Leby appeared behind them and began to fly close to Kairi. "And this thing?"
"Kairi, can you hear me?" Eve's voice came through Ray's walkie-talkie. "Are you sure this works, Egon?"
“We hear you loud and clear. Have you sent this machine?" Ray asked.
"Yes. After talking to dr. Spengler I have reprogrammed Moby and Leby a bit to have the same functions as the PKE Meter and the googles. Now we can use them to track the ghosts in case none of the Ghostbusters is present. But maybe they can detect 'them', so be careful." Eve explained.
"Thanks, Eve!" Kairi exclaimed.
"Them?" Ray asked.
“Do you know why we destroyed the 13th floor of the Empire State Building? Well, that's why." Kairi replied. "And let's pray that we won't see them again."
The three continued to wander the corridors of the 12th floor looking for Slimer, following the trail that the ghost left thanks to Leby and Ray's tracking team. Unfortunately, the trail led them to a Peeping Eye in a corner that began to act erratically when he found them.
"What the heck...!" Ray exclaimed upon seeing the Peeping Eye.
Kairi immediately lunged at the Fallen and with one swift blow she disposed of him. But a Hunter materialized behind them, leaping in the direction of Ray, while he and Kairi turned as he fell on the Ghostbusters. But a figure stood in front of the Fallen and with a blow to the stomach stopped him short. It turned out that Makoto had stepped forward and got in the way, hitting him with the tip of a tonfa attached to her wrist, followed by a hook with a second tonfa attached to her other wrist that knocked him to the ground.
Ray was stunned for a few seconds after what happened until he came to. "Good reflexes."
Makoto raised her thumb up as she smiled at Ray and Kairi, but the Hunter got up and leaped towards her, though the squirrel woman jumped to evade the attack, leaving only the Fallen to claw her jacket away, showing that under the jacket wore an orange fighter top that showed the lower half of her breasts. Upon landing Makoto groped the Hunter who ripped the jacket apart and advanced on her, his attack blocked by her tonfa and he was hit hard backward.
"Move away!" Ray warned, causing the squirrel girl to jump to the side, letting Ray fire his proton beam at the Hunter.
The lightning seemed to affect the Fallen moderately, containing and progressively damaging him even though he was stumbling forward, until Kairi fired a Firaga on him, finally destroying the Fallen and making him disappear.
Kairi and Makoto breathed for a moment after the fight, until they looked at each other and nodded.
"Peter, Egon, do you hear me?" Ray called on his comm. “You have no idea what we have found. Two of those creatures! The floating eye and one of those lizards! Like our last job! "
"That could explain the strange readings I'm getting." Egon replied.
"Have you met them already?" Kairi asked.
“Yes, and they’re tougher than ordinary ghosts. That day we earned our salary for sure." Ray replied.
"I think we need to talk about them." Kairi said.
"Ray! I don’t feel good!" Peter's voice came over the walkie-talkie.
"Peter, come in! You okay?" Ray asked, but he got no answer. "Uh-oh. Man down! We’ve got a man down! Go, go, go!"
Ray started running towards the elevators, soon followed by Makoto and Kairi, the latter fearing that Peter had been attacked by some other Fallen on the floor.
Fortunately, Peter was simply lying on the ground on his proton pack, totally covered in slime.
“He’s been slimed! Again!" Ray exclaimed when he saw his partner down in front of him.
"How did this even happen? I was covering the elevators! " Peter said on the ground. Ray wasted no time in helping Peter up off the ground. “That mutant stromboli snuck up on me. Gah… funktified again." Peter said wiping the drool off his face. “Believe me, that ghost can consider himself burned down. Right now, it’s all about payback!"
"Did it happen to him before?" Makoto asked Ray.
"Yes, and with the same ghost." Ray replied.
"You guys need to get down here immediately." Egon radioed. "Our live-in science experiment is tearing apart the lobby, and he’s not alone."
"Fallen?" Kairi asked, taking Ray's radio.
"I don't know what you mean by that word, but they are actually animating specters." Egon replied.
"More ghosts?" Ray asked, surprised. "But gave this hotel a clean bill of health five years ago."
"New people die everyday." Was Egon's reply.
"Well, he’s right about that." Makoto said.

The four of them went down the elevator, but suddenly the elevator stopped with the doors closed.
"Alright, Slimer! You’ve had your fun! The elevator’s off-limits! " Ray said angrily, before turning on his radio. "Egon, come in. I think we're stuck in the elevator. We need some HELP!"
"Think we’re stuck? Well, let's see…” Peter said, before tapping the elevator buttons to see if it worked, before turning to his partner. "Ray, you guys uh… good with officially stuck in the elevators? Show your hands... "
Makoto was the first to raise her hand after that, earning a look from the others, until the elevator began to rattle again.
"Here it comes..." Ray said, armed with his gun, pointing at the door.
"Kill it, Ray!" Peter exclaimed as the door started to open, but it turned out that it was Egon and Edea in her Black Mage clothes who opened the door. "You always fail me, Ray. Don’t you?" Ray just shrugged with a crooked smile, while Kairi and Makoto shook their heads.
After that, everyone returned to the hall seeing that, indeed, Slimer was not alone, but there were several ghosts of bellboys flying through the area, throwing suitcases everywhere, while Eve and Rena tried to contain them with what they had.
“Nevermind the Onionhead for now. The ghost with the red cap is fighting hard to hold stasis! " Ray exclaimed.
"Come now! He’s a New York bellhop! ! Just tip him, will ya."
"Yeah, as if that would work." Edea said, using Thundaga to catch the ghosts.
Rena and Eve used their weapons as best they could to weaken the ghosts from a distance, while Kairi managed to hit them with her Keyblade while avoiding the Ghostbusters' beams and the suitcases that the entities threw. Meanwhile, Kairi could see that thanks to her closeness with her Keyblade, the squirrel girl was able to strike the ghosts with amazing fluency. After the skirmish, the two ghosts were weakened and duly locked in the traps.
“That convulsive PK shockwave really stirred the nest. Man, this lobby is so wrecked!" Ray exclaimed when he saw the destruction in the place.
"Does anyone else think we've helped with it a bit?" Edea asked, looking at the damage, mostly caused by her attacks, until she finally noticed Makoto, now that she wasn't wearing her jacket. "This, are you sure you're okay like this?"
Makoto turned to her. "What are you talking about?"
"What do I mean? Look at you, your clothes scream 'wardrobe malfunction' all over the place. A blow of air or a sneeze, and you will make a show."
"I don’t care. Like this, I can fight better. " Makoto replied, causing Edea to raise an eyebrow.
The group located another group of ghosts with Slimer, but they quickly parted ways.
"They’ve split up!" Ray exclaimed when he saw what happened.
"Ray, follow me! Edea and Eve too! The others are floating back upstairs." Egon reported. “Venkman, you four pull our friend Slimer into a trap as fast as you can. There’s a massive bulge in these spikes indicating this isn’t just some routine clearing job." After that Egon and Ray's group returned to the upper floors.
"He gets so bossy when he hasn’t had his nap." Peter complained, soon going where Slimer slipped away, followed by the rest of the girls.
It didn't take long for them to reach a double door following the trail, but the manager was scared in front of the door.
"There. The Alhambra Ballroom. No way he could pass that up. " Peter said.
But the manager turned to them. "Absolutely not! You can’t go in, the Rodriguez Bar Mitzvah is set to start in half an hour!"
"I’ll bet the beef brisket is today’s special." Peter commented.
“... and you’ve done quite enough already. I’m sure the… thing.. will just go away... ”Just then there was a great noise behind the door that startled the manager. “I… I’m… willing to risk it. You’re not going in there!"
"Are you serious?" Kairi asked at the manager's refusal.
"That’s all we needed to hear." Peter said, catching the girls' attention. "Alright, we're out! Coffee time, everyone! Service has been declined beyond this point."
Then Peter walked away from the door, confusing Kairi, Rena, and Makoto who followed him, although the squirrel girl seemed to know that there was something fishy in the ghostbuster's answer.
"The schnutz you say. Nobody slimes Pete Venkman twice and gets away with it." Peter commented.
“Be careful, Peter. Remember the Ellis Island incident?" Egon called on the radio.
"We better not ask, okay?" Kairi suggested.
After walking for a while they reached the kitchen door, guessing that this was Venkman's plan. Get to the Alhambra ballroom through the kitchen. After taking the shortcut, but not before running into some strange black slime that Peter suggested not to touch, they reached the room in question, where they saw Slimer having a first-class feast with the food on the tables.
“Would it kill him to mix in a green salad once in a while? You blast him and when he's dazed we'll trap him, okay?" Peter said.
"Okay, but don't hang around, okay?" Kairi warned.
"I have an idea." Rena said. "It's risky, but if it works, we can catch it."
"I'm all ears, miss." Peter said.
Slimer kept gobbling food on the tables, until he heard something that alerted him, Makoto being the one who was running at full speed in a posture that allowed her to turn to one side or the other if she saw it necessary. Seeing that he had no escape from the sides, the ghost flew upwards. But just at that moment, an arrow of mana flew towards him, causing an ice blast that created a large icy block in the air clinging to the wall, with the green ghost trapped inside.
"Okay, that worked." Peter said with surprise, because the initial plan was to freeze Slimer so that he could not escape, but he had to move so that he could not avoid Rena's ice arrow, so Makoto ran threateningly towards the ghost, leaving the first part of the plan goes well. "Normally Egon would be against this plan, but since he's not here right now, get him, Kairi!"
Kairi nodded, knowing that he knew he should use a Firaga on the ice to cause an explosion strong enough that it would at least stun the green ghost within. With that in mind, Kairi aimed her Keyblade at the large block of ice and fired a direct Firaga.
But said Firaga was more powerful than expected, causing a powerful explosion when hitting the ice that caused severe destruction in the room and furniture, in addition to sending the entire group to the ground.
Peter shook his head on the ground, soon turning to Kairi. "Is the last time I agree to a plan if you’re part of it."
"Seriously, was that much power necessary?" Rena complained as she got up.
"It's not my fault." Kairi said as she got up. "I don't know what has happened. I was supposed to cast a Firaga, but for some reason, I cast a more powerful spell."
"Then don't try too hard next time, okay?" Makoto said, all covered in soot and grime as she was closer than the others to the explosion.
Despite the accident, they could see that Slimer was fine, although very stunned by the explosion. Venkman seized the opportunity to catch the ghost with his gun and put him in a portable trap.
"Yeah! Perfect! See? That’s a big wow. That’ll teach that pitiful goop-sack to slime Pete Venkman. And, by extension,... you." Peter commented after having locked up the ghost, before looking around. “Perhaps a place setting disturbed. Still pretty much ready. Full go for the Rodriguez Blowout. "
"If you say it." Rena rubbed her head with her hand.
“The Alhambra Ballroom! The Bar Mitzvah! " The manager exclaimed as he entered the room and saw what a mess there was. "What have you done? The guests are arriving in fifteen minutes! "
"What seems to be your problem? Thanks to me and my new exclusively assigned recruits here, the festivities can now proceed in an entirely ghost-free environment, so you’re welcome. Eh? And to the Rodriguez: L’Chaim from the Ghostbusters!" The girls here saw what Venkman's true strength was.
The group left the room, returning to the hall where the others were waiting for them, although now they were occupied because of various ghosts that were causing problems in the room, but since they were all together now, they managed to catch all the ghosts, but unlike the others, Kairi tried not to overdo it so as not to cause another accident like before. Despite a job well done, the whole place was pretty wrecked after the brawl. Something that the manager would not like.
"Who’s going to pay for all this?!" The manager asked angrily.
"No need to worry, sir." Ray said. “As you know, the Mayor rode to office on a strictly pro-Ghostbusters platform, and we now invoice the city directly for all captures and eliminations. An unhaunted New York is a tourist friendly New York. "
"No... the damage!" Indicated the manager.
"The mayor and city have taken out an extensive insurance policy as well so you’re covered." Egon said.
"Well, I'm calmer now." Edea said upon hearing that.
“Honestly, I’m sensing some hostility here. Perhaps we should just leave the ghosts here if that’s what you would prefer, sir. " Peter said.
"No… no. But please, be discreet." The manager asked in a defeatist way.
"Discretion is our professional watch word." Ray said
Without warning, a large fisherman-like ghost flew off, alarming everyone present before heading for the stairs.
"Whoa! Where did HE come from?!" Ray asked after the start.
“And this is a five-star hotel? But how many ghosts are in this place?! " Edea asked.
"I suppose we should go after him." Egon suggested. "Unless you want to discuss it first?"
"Girls. Go with Dr. Spengler. Check out the angry fisherman. "
The girls did as Ray suggested and escorted Spengler up the stairs. There Egon suggested that they go in front while he advanced behind in case the ghost decided to gamble from behind. But the specter caused one of the stair sections to tumble downward. Luckily Kairi and the others avoided the piece of stairs, but it blocked Egon's path.
"Can’t get across there!" Egon said seeing the blockage in front of him. "Move! Take the lead! Take this trap! "
After catching the trap, and there was no other way to go up, the girls explored the plant where they were until they were ambushed by the ghost of the fisherman, bringing a torrent of water that pushed them to the ground.
"Are you okay?" Kairi asked, getting up from the water.
"I don't know where that ghost came from, but I know where I'm going to send it when I catch it up." Edea said, shaking her head and rising from the water as well.
"You are not the only one, I assure you." Makoto said, shaking her tail to remove the water she had there.
When they all got up, they saw that the torrent of water had transformed part of the plant as if it were the seabed, with some of the water falling down the stairs.
"Hey! Is there a bathtub overflowing up there?" Ray asked for a communicator they had.
“More specifically: a 7000-cubic meter bathtub filled with protonically charged seawater? And, uh, sea cucumbers?" Egon asked.
"Less joking, okay?" Rena said. "You look for a way to climb, we will follow the ghost."
"Can you at least tell us what happened here?" Kairi asked.
“Ray, did you tell the girls about semi-dimensional rift entities? This type of highly agitated environment is a likely manifestation point. " Egon asked.
"Translation please?" Edea asked.
"That we should be careful with the objects on the floor." Eve warned.
After the warning, the lamps on the walls began to move and behave like spiders that swooped towards them, but fortunately, Rena and Eve's arrows and projectiles kept them at bay, while Kairi, Makoto, and Edea using the Knight's abilities, dispatched any possessed object that got too close to them.
But the chandeliers were not the only problem, because due to the semi-aquatic environment of the floor, some Fallen like Mermen and Nulla Wraiths appeared as well, although mainly to 'annoy' them because they were not rivals for such a group in such narrow corridors, although these sudden attacks only distract them from their target, which sometimes passes in front of them as if taunting them.
"Can you tell who that ghost is?" Edea asked, tired of following the ghost through the flooded corridors.
"Egon gave me access to his database of paranormal entities." Eve said. “According to the data, it is the ghost of Pappy Sargassi, a descendant of an ancient and proud lineage of sailors and fishermen, who tried to avoid the premature death that his family suffered by creating a restaurant on land, which is in this building. After a while he came to think that he was already safe from that fate and became fond of fishing, only to choke to death on a hake wand while being eaten by a great white shark. "
"One of both, either that curse was strong, or the man had the worst possible luck." Rena said, arching an eyebrow.
"Anyway, we must catch him." Kairi said.
After wandering through the flooded corridors, they managed to reach an area of elevators that suddenly open, taking all the water from the plant.
"I don't know whether to be happy because there is no more water or to worry about the doors opening by themselves." Edea said.
"Girls, I think I've found something." Makoto said, pointing to the entrance to a restaurant with the Sargassi’s sign on it.
"I don't know why but..." Kairi muttered aloud.
The girls entered the restaurant but found hardly any trace of the fisherman's ghost until he suddenly showed up with a laugh.
"Laugh all you want, ghost, but your time to give us troubles is over!" Edea exclaimed, taking the Black Wizard's abilities.
"Well, time to send this ghost back to his watery grave." Makoto said firmly.
“Well, we are a bit far from the sea, right? How then did he get here? " Rena asked, unsettling the squirrel girl a bit.
"Can you focus on the current situation?" Eve asked.
"Get him!" Kairi yelled, launching herself first for the ghost, chasing it when the specter kept its distance.
Makoto soon ran after both of them and when he reached them he began to attack the ghost, trying to hit him although he was constantly moving away, at the same time that the spectrum used his cane to grab the restaurant furniture and threw them with force.
Fortunately, Edea, Rena, and Eve threw everything they had at him, having medium luck because some of their attacks managed to hit the ghost, but not enough to weaken it since part of their projectiles were going to stop the furniture that the ghost had. threw. After the brawl, the ghost disappeared from the room at full speed.
Right at that moment, the Ghostbusters arrived at the restaurant.
"Good work. Are you alright?" Egon asked as he entered the room.
"Nice going! If you get tired of your trip and when you pay the debt with the city hall, maybe you can work on this." Ray said.
"No, thanks. We are as good as we are now." Rena said.
"Well, you have destroyed a significant section of a five-star New York Hotel in just under three hours." Peter said. “Your mothers and I are proud of you. Aren’t we, Egon? "
Some of the girls were about to say four things to Venkman after his comment, when Egon caught everyone's attention, carrying his PKM meter in hand. “They’ve got something! Let’s track it down! "
Deciding to ignore Peter, the girls investigated the restaurant, until they saw that Moby and Leby were reacting in the direction of the kitchen, but when they headed there the doors were blown off by an explosion in the kitchen, letting through a huge humanoid made of Kitchen appliances.
"What the heck?" Rena asked when she saw the monster
"Egon? Ray? This is something new for us, isn't it? " Peter asked, surprised to see the creature.
"The first one I’ve ever seen!" Ray exclaimed. "It’s some type of highly focused anthropomorphic animator: an entity which attracts familiar objects to itself so it can materially manifest its rage!"
"Well, we break it apart and that's it." Edea said, launching a Firaga on the creature, causing some components of the body to fly off.
But these components began to return to the body itself and to reassemble.
"It’s generating a field of attraction so strong that it’s able to reassemble its component parts!" Egon exclaimed.
"That's not fair!" Edea exclaimed indignantly.
The Ghostbusters started firing their proton beams into the automaton's body, but only made it more enraged, but fortunately, Edea, Rena, and Eve supported the Ghostbusters with their ranged attacks, while Kairi and Makoto attracted their attention so that focus his attacks on them, while looking for a way to destroy the golem.
But regardless, it didn't matter if he was attacked by Ghostbusters' proton beams, Rena's mana arrows, Edea's magic, Eve's projectiles, Makoto's punches, or Kairi's blows. The entity was constantly reassembling itself, which made the combat exhausting.
Kairi then had a desperate idea, so it jumped on the golem, landing on it and hitting the head of the automaton with the tip of the Keyblade, and executed a strong Thundaga, causing electricity to run throughout the body of the golem. Perhaps by reaction with the appliances attached to the body, the automaton exploded, but Kairi fell to the ground after flying due to the explosion.
Kairi shook her head after that, soon seeing how the ghost of the fisherman was glaring at her in real fury, preparing to punish her.
But without warning, Makoto jumped up behind him, and when she was close she delivered a powerful downward punch on the ghost's head. Although it is not known if she struck him with her fist or with the tip of the tonfa.
Taking advantage of the daze after the violent blow, the Ghostbusters began to drag the ghost into a trap where they could easily lock it up.
"Are you okay?" Rena asked, helping Kairi up.
"Yes I'm fine." Kairi replied, turning to Makoto. "Thanks a lot."
"Nah, it was nothing." The squirrel girl said with a smile.
As they spoke the Ghostbusters put the fisherman's ghost inside the trap.
“I thought I didn’t like knives and forks flying at me. But, when knives and forks become a big angry giant, that’s really me not liking it. A lot." Peter commented after locking up the specter.
"Happens everyday, right?" Ray asked.
"If I told you." Edea said.
"Anybody hear from Zeddemore?" Ray asked.
Just then the radio began to play.
"Uh, guys? I'm right outside. And so is something else. " A voice sounded from it. The girls soon realized that it could be the fourth Ghostbusters they were talking about, Winston.
"That ‘something’ will don’t be by us, right?" Priere asked over the radio. Apparently, she and maybe Nina was with him.
“Gosh we’ve missed you, partner. Glad you could make it. But first, how was Aida? Mhmm." Asked Peter. “Well, we had to make do with, uh, these new specimens here. And from what I see, you already know the other two."
“We’ve been trying to get here for over four hours, Peter. Traffic is a little blocked right now!" Winston said from behind the radio.
Suddenly they noticed a tremor in the room. The truth was that they had noticed these tremors for a long time, but now they were stronger, which were possibly steps. Steps from something very big and heavy.
"Wait ... I know that thud..." Ray commented after feeling the last tremor.
"I don’t like it." Edea said after feeling the tremor.
Then Egon takes the walkie-talkie. "Winston, what do you see out there?"
“It's big, it’s clean and soft and white. And you all aren’t gonna like it." Winston answered from behind the radio.
"And this isn’t a joke!" Nina exclaimed through the walkie-talkie.
"What the hell is that?!"
Kairi exclaimed looking at the windows. Ray looked out the window too, and his face went completely pale. “No… this is not possible. Not here. Not now. Not again!"
Passing in front of the windows a huge white figure could be seen advancing forward.
