Three years after the final defeat of Ganon at the hands of Link and the 5 sages peace reigns in Hyrule. Still, that doesn’t mean that the heroes abandoned their duties, quite the opposite actually. Not wanting to be caught unprepared next time a malignant force attacks the kingdom, the warriors have continued to relentlessly train themselves to this day. One of such examples can be found in the Rito village. On an especially hot summer day, both Teba the village leader and his son Tulin the sage of wind had decided to train on a nearby meadow. Tulin was particularly interested in improving his flying manoeuvres as well as his landing accuracy. As such, Teba quickly devised a method to hone that skill. The exercise was actually quite simple: He would lay on the ground with his soles looking upwards and Tulin would have to land on them after jumping from the highest point in the village. The plan was to repeat the process until Tulin managed to get the hang of it. Thus, both father and son spent the entire morning happily yet dutifully training, occasionally adding additional goals to their test. For instance, at some point Teba started ordering Tulin to aim for specific spots on his soles, in order to further test Tulin’s accuracy as well as to train his balance. In order to define the aforementioned spots, he would sometimes use visual references, like an unremarkable purple bug that had been stuck on his sole the entire day…
Noc’s day had been hectic to say the least. After a weird dream where he found himself at a tiny size at the mercy of the legendary hero Revali , he woke up in his bed just to find out that he was still smaller than an ant. Being very aware of the dangers associated with his newfound size, Noc rushed Teba’s home as quick as his tiny wings could carry him, which wasn’t much faster than the average gnat. However, after making it to the leader’s chamber, it was misfortune rather than help what awaited him. It just so happened that Teba was so absorbed at the moment reading some texts, that when Noc started flying around his face he was met with a quick swat instead of recognition. From there everything was a blur from Noc. In a fraction of a second, he found himself on the floor, heavily dazed. He didn’t even get a moment to properly regain his senses before his entire world turned dark, eclipsed by the looming sole of Teba, who had just finished his tasks and was ready to head out for some training. By sheer miracle, Noc survived the impact of Teba’s foot, but remained stuck in-between his toes thanks to a sheen of sweat coating the gigantic rito’s skin. Thus Noc was forced to endure the amplified heat of the day with a hefty dose of Teba’s musk as the day progressed. Things got even worse for the shrunk rito once Tulin’s landing training begun. At first it was just close calls, with Tulin missing his target by inches, even if they felt like miles for Noc. But at last, Noc’s luck ended up running out. Tulin’s first successful landing hit the tiny rito like a meteor, effectively entombing him in-between the hot and sweaty flesh of two gargantuan warriors. To make matters worse, they were still unaware of his true nature, mistaking him for a bug and thus not caring about how rough it might feel to be pressed on all sides by tons of talon flesh. This torment kept on repeating itself throughout the entire morning, with the only variation being the foot on which Noc was stuck, sometimes Teba’s, sometimes Tulin’s. By the afternoon, Noc was completely undistinguishable from another piece of toejam, having completely failed in his goal of getting help for his size problem. Instead, it seemed that he was bound to join Tulin for future training sessions whether he wanted to or not.
