So... Do the Screwlins just look like people from Yamaversistan? Or do the Screwlins just look like this and have they replaced the people from Yamaversistan ages ago, and everyone just thinks Screwlins are the native people of Yamaversistan? Bit confused about that point. The book suggest the latter, but how would they just be hiding as themselves amongst other civilizations?

And apparently this is known information, so how has no one realised this has been going on? Or do they just condone it? Maybe I'm overthinking it, but I'm curious and confused :).

Oh, I somehow missed they slowly replaced the original population over decades, the comic does explain that. Whoops. Still not sure if Screwlins look like the original populace or not (the book has a picture of the people we see with the name Screwlin, so...). Or are they body snatchers?'

They're just a different species, people can tell who they are despite their mimicry. But once there were enough of them, they took power and enslaved everyone else.

I like the lore connection with that picture in the book in the second to last panel.

Ah, I figured these Screwlins sort of look like flies wearing furry masks. So those big orange spots on their cheeks are actually their eyes, yes?

Sounds almost like, "Kill 'em all, let God sort them out."
