Revisiting an idea I originally drew about 7 years ago.  Furry versions of the three big generals of the North African campaign.

I don't know much about Montgomery but I believe you got Patton and Rommel down pat.  With Rommel's nickname of "The Desert Fox", a fennec fox is perfect to represent him.  Patton was known for being aggressive so a bull terrier (one of the more aggressive dog breeds, from what I've been told) is also perfect.

Thanks!  A big part of the reason I went with the bull terrier was because of the one he had as a pet during the war and his fondness for the breed.

As for Montgomery as a Russell, they are a determined and tough breed that was used for, among other things, fox hunting.

Sorry it took so long to respond.  I just looked at this drawing again and an idea came to my mind.  If you decide to draw Winston Churchill, I think you should do him as an English Bulldog.  If you look at some photos of him, you'll notice that he does kind of resemble one and he always implied the English people were determined and, anyone who knows the English Bulldog knows how determined they can be.
