here on Inkbunny for this sexy and more detailed version of Diana!
So here we are, come full circle to the fifth point on the pentagram, the last of the five Crowns. Formerly belonging to the One Who Waits,, Diana's chained master who gave her life once more in exchange that she take her revenge on the Bishops of the Old Faith and free him from bondage, the Red Crown holds power over the razor thin boundary between life and death. Of how all begins and ends. as stated previously, the Crown allowed Diana to be rejoined with her head as if the executioner's axe never removed it.
But the damage had long been done to her eyes, her world forever dark, were it not for the Red Crown. Unlike in canon, Diana's eyes do not bleed tears of blood when she invokes her magic or powers; she simply can't. Upon her resurrection, the Red Crown repaired her eyeballs the way it THOUGHT they were meant to be, unaware of things like nerve damage. One might consider she has two glass eyes in her skull, if they weren't still plain old eyeballs. This is why her eyes are hollow and glassy, and she has red eyes instead of black; it is the Red Crown infusing its vision into hers.
As predicted, Diana CAN still die, hell, even her beloved flock can die! But so long as she doesn't wish for death to stick, the Red Crown will resurrect her, time after time again. By its power, she herself has become an inevitability. She can wait much longer than any other might. While this means she can outlive any lover she takes, however, she may return them to life as many times as they wish to be with her. Even a Goddess to be wouldn't be selfish enough to keep them forever. That is the ways of the Old Faith.
One day at a time, one insufferable idiot in her flock at a time, she will make her cult the only faith that remains. Only time will tell if she is worse than the Bishops, or better. And have I mentioned how everyone gets to ogle her body during rituals yet? God DAMN is she a fluffy cake!
