Another little flashback to the Space Year 1997 and a couple of college chicks on a hill, enjoying the fireworks. And each other.
As Megan noted on her post, this dips pretty deeply into the realm of fantasy, and not just because we didn't actually get together until decades later. Pride wasn't so widely accepted in the mainstream back then, and girls kissing this openly in public would have been quite scandalous in our small, back-woods university. But maybe, in another universe where bunnies and vixens meet, we'd have thrown caution to the wind.

I hope you can have such a moment one day, too. I know it's hard and must seem pretty hopeless sometimes, but life isn't over and you never know where it might lead. If you couuld travel back in time to 1997 and ask me then if I'd ever actually be with such a wonderful person, I'd never have thought it possible!
Heh, and yeah, the fireworks are a bit of artistic license to be fair. Except for July 4th, you don't really get fireworks here, either. New Years, too, I think, but that's mostly just in big placs like Times Square. We were just in a flamboyant mood for this picture.
