He is quite the exploratory type, but even he stops and considers the possibilities when encountering this gate to the space between spaces... The gate and bridge was built by the dnothan a long time ago, connecting planets and stations with a bridge through the unstable interspace currents against all odds. Nothing shows the quality of their engineering more than its integrity and functionality even long after the abandonment of it and the surrounding city. The geothermal energy source keeping it functional against the entropic nature of a rift like this forced to stay open. However, time took its toll on the gigantic device, the stability of the passage is slightly compromised. It doesn't look like this will deter this guy from his goals...
(As a side note, his bike is a two wheeler but enhanced with pseudomatter projectors on each side, giving it exceptional maneuvering/stabilizing capabilities and even limited hovering possibility.)

story-wise, my silly interpretation is that he must «drive», or precisely control the placement of the bike in order to avoid the part of the bridge that give no information to that 3D projector & status check device. if there are instabilities, the equivalent of a «butterfly effect» can have dire consequences on the location (in space-time coordinates) of the exit point of the bridge

Yes I had fun with it! Thinking about the lore and technologies and the character itself is a nice mental exercise. I'm happy to read that feedback!
Riding through this unstable gate is quite dangerous indeed, he'll need to maneuver precisely and probably improvise some course adjustments even with the computer corrections of the vehicle. There is a bridge leading through the gate and beyond but it isn't much of a safety guarantee, gotta be on your toes on it at this point because things got weird on the other side without active influencing of the "landscape"
