Nina Thumpings was not her mother. She was born into what more or less could be considered royalty. Through the actions of her mother and the rest of her family, she was given a life that Taylor could only dream of. Nina didn't exactly see this sort of easy living a blessing, however. It was simply a different sort of cage. It may not have been one of fear and anxiety like her mother on the run with Nina's grandmother, Murana, but there were still societal pressures and obligations she did not fancy. As an individual she felt stifled and not allowed to be her true self. Gone were the days of being a tomboy and kicking it with the local cubs and calves of the Talkar hoods. She had a reputation and family name to uphold and she abhorred it. With an arranged marriage and expected consummation to happen to continue her now royal line, she felt she had little control over her life. She felt the sad face looking back at her through a mirror was her true self - a lapse in the fake smiles and pleasant persona she was forced to adopt.
