At least, I think the second picture was drawn towards the end of 2008. Maybe early 2009? I know I was using it to experiment with photoshop in February 2009 at least.
Either way, the first picture (which emerged from a warmup sketch yesterday) shows the result of a great deal of evolution within my own "style" and possibly technique. Oh shoot, and I totally forgot his spots again. What is wrong with me?! Oh, and if there's anything wrong with his pose... well, he IS standing on a cardboard box. Haha. XD
I think it's all pretty self explanatory; a hero standing atop a tall building, overlooking the beloved city he has sworn to protect... you know how it goes. Oh, and there is something inherently silly about standing on a windy ledge on top of a tall building... maybe that's the joke? XD
One or two things may need an explanation, though:
1. An old attempt at some kinda batsignal-esque logo... it's a fist with a ring on, if you don't get it... because, well, a hero has GOT to have a ring (powered or otherwise), so that when he punches crime right in it's smug, no good face, it leaves a little reminder about justice... like the Phantom's skull ring. See, I totally knew what I was doing. XP
2. While modeling something similar to that "novelty attachment" months ago, I got the silly idea that it would be most amusing stuck on the end of a plunger... so I kept modeling until I had myself a 3d weaponised plunger... and I'm sure you get the picture. I was going to use it with that half-finished 3d model I made of my puppy... but I got side tracked and forgot about it. lol. X3
I stumbled onto the file accidentally a few days ago, and, if this picture is anything to go by, it's been stuck in my mind ever since. Hehehe. ^_^
It seemed somehow an appropriate weapon of choice for a half naked underwear wearing superhero/sidekick, considering the misadventures he keeps getting himself into... oh nerts! I should have drawn his sidekick teddy bear in as well. XD
Oh well, next time perhaps.
Now I think my artistic skill is warmed up enough to focus on those commissions... at least until I get dragged kicking and screaming from my computer to some birthday dinner or whatever. ^_^
