Fall of 415 I.E
Dark Clouds cover the sky over the nameless forest of Laurasia. In the forest lies the nameless village belonging to cynoeas from different lands. Two hound cynoeas came from a desert land far from Pangaea. These hounds were the vanconis sandhounds. They've traveled for weeks to arrive at the western coast of Laurasia and wander the forest for many days. The land was silent with little noise, perhaps the chirping of birds and the screeching of large winged beasts, and even squeals of pigs in the pens of some of the wooden buildings.
A small vanconis girl with maroon fur and silk robes asked the larger cream-fur woman, "What do these stones represent, Lil Bunny?" as she pointed to tall stones that pointed to the sky. The taller vanconis hound looks down at her and replies, "I don't know Cookie, but it isn't different from the obelisk of Itra."
"They are menhirs devoted to Elder Stars," says a voice behind them. The two vaconis sandhounds twist their heads to see an orange and white fur Seltic Corgee who brandishes a weapon made from iron. "Are you a local from here?" Lil bunny asks as the Seltic corgi says that she came from the far eastern seas of Atlantica, from the Seltic Isles between Valkaria and Pangaea. She introduced herself as Elsa, Thegn of his village.
"I, too, am a foreigner in these lands," the corgee says, and in return, the two vanconis sandhounds call themselves Lil'bunny and Cookie from Vaconis. "We are explorers sent by our Dunnvolva of our home city of Pnakotus."
"I've never heard of Pnakotus, and I had heard little of Vaconis. It's no insult towards you, Bunny," Elsa tells the hound when a flash of lightning, followed by the roar of thunder. "We better get going, Thunar seems to be at his wits' end with the Jotnar," Elsa says as she and the two Vaconis hounds enter the village's grand hall that faces the menhirs. The interior is as wide as the void of space, rows of wooden tables were spaced out five feet apart, with a cauldron at the hall's center, facing the entrance were two wooden thrones. Both faced the entrance of the hall and were made of pine wood. A long table stood before the two thrones. As Cookie went to examine the seats, Elsa asked about her mother. Lil Bunny's face turns sad when she explains that her parents died during an attack from a desert nomad race.
"They're the Alasians; they resemble deer that stand on two legs. Their skin as maroon and their hair blends red with brown. Their jagged yellow teeth were as sharp as blades, and they grew antlers on their heads. They are related to goblins in the mountains that divide the main desert from the Marshes of Amazonia, where the green-skinned orcs thrive. We were attacked at night when the moon shines the brightest. Many died, including her parents. I took her in after that, and she'd stay by my side since then," the sand fur Vaconis hound spoke with sadness in her voice.
"Yeah, I can relate to that," Elsa replies, and the thunder roars and booms. Wind howls like the wolves of Alfardyr. The entrance door opens to reveal a white fur poodle wearing hide made from the skin of an auroch. She steps in as fast as she can before the rain could fall. "Well, good morning, Honey Jarl."
"Morning to you too, Elsa. Say who are these two Outlanders?" Honey asks her Thegn, and the orange and cream-fur congee answers, "They are Lil Bunny and Cookie from the land of Vaconis. They came on behalf of their lord of Pnakotus."
Honey looks at the Vaconis Hounds, then takes notice of her ears and says, "Your Ears, they are as pink as roses."
"Yes, Honey Queen, they're dyed using beets grown at the farms of Pnakotus. My mother dyed them for me when I was young, and I have kept them ever since. Yes we came to make trade agreements with the first village me and Cookie made contact with." Lil Bunny answer the queen's question follow by her explaining their reasoning for being here at the village. Honey ask how long have they had traveled and Cookie came and says, "for a really long time. For several months, we sail on the waters of the western oceans, and about two weeks once, we arrive at the western shores of Laurasia. We walk for a while until we arrive here today."
Honey looks at the little girl and smiles. She asked if she and Lil Bunny were hungry, and she shook her head as her stomach grumbled. Honey looks at Bunny as she nods as well. Minutes passed as they ate eggs with bread. Honey asks about this Vaconis, and Cookie says that it's their desert home far away from Pangaea. The Vaconis sandhounds lived in the desert of Stygia. "Other Cynoea people live there as well, such as the Stygian Hound and the Amazonian Slougian, who all live in their respective territories," says the little girl after she had finished her food.
Honey ask if they had confederated with these cynoea tribes in Vaconis. Lil Bunny replies with "We haven't, other vaconis clans might had, but not us as far as I know. Not all vaconis sandhounds are united as one. The land of Vaconis is nothing more than dunes and wildlands. Pnakotus wasn't built by us but by people long gone from this world."
"Do you know the original people who built the Pnakotus, if it wasn't the Vaconis Sandhounds? Perhaps the Pangaeans?" Elsa questions her new friend, to which the cream-furred woman responds, "No, it wasn't the Pangaean. It predates the first Pangaeans, even the giant wings and giants."
The door to the grand hall flung open from the wind as the howling wind blew through the hall's interior. Elsa went to close the door when she saw the Terrir exile from the north. He ran towards the door with haste to evade the wind and rain. Successfully getting out of the storm, the terrir from the northern wilds warns that he spotted a Kinameastin flying near the village.
Honey ask if the Kinameastin is Laurasian in origin when the orange fur terrir spoke that he couldn't tell. "What group did the Kinameastin belong to? was it Istiastli, Nippi'tl?"
"I couldn't tell as I only saw its shadow when the Lightning flashed in the dark clouds, either way it's on its way here," says the terrir whose muzzle looked off. Cookie asked if the Kinameastin was a Bal-ghul-pikr, only for the terrir to look at the two Vaconis hound and ask, "What do you know about the Kinameastin?"
"I've seen one before near our home of Pnakotus, It is also our name for the same being. In fact, the one I encountered before saved me from doom."
Bunny was surprised by the revelation that her adopted daughter was saved by a Bal-ghul-pikr. She asked when did this happened, and Cookie replied with "When the Alasians killed my mom."
Bunny nods and questions the queen if she is going to speak with the Kinameastin, as the Poodle spoke that only if it comes and if it doesn't belong to the Laurasian Empire. "I have the idea that the Laurasian Empire aren't good, are they?" Bunny asked when the terrir spoke that they seek to control the wilds and oppress the people of the known world.
"You're not wrong, young Diablo. After all, weren't you a slave to them for crimes that you may or may not have committed?"
"And I'm only here because I managed to escape my captors after they pillaged my village from the far north, Gods knows why they came." Diablo reminisces his time in the nameless wilds before his arrival in this village. The only thing from his village is a simple bone knife he carried on his right hip. A loud thump was heard outside of the Grand Hall after the boom of thunder, followed by a loud honk.
"It is here."
