Character Sheet for Conduit
Species
Electric eel (Electrophorus electricus)
Character Description
An average-sized electric eel, with arms but no legs.
His electrical abilities are MUCH stronger than what's normal for his species. He does not shock himself by using them. Prolonged use tires him out. He can use it to keep others, but not himself, awake longer while they're drowning.
He has a bit of a mutation: His gills are fully functional and can sustain him on their own, but his body can't process air at all. He doesn't need a whole lot of water though, rain is usually enough to let him breathe, and he can talk on land without losing any water.
Personality
Nerdy, a bit excitable, somewhat shy around people that live on land.
Likes/Dislikes
Likes: Electronics, swamps, video games
Favorite color: Grey
Dislikes: People touching his gills without permission, rocky places above water, rubber
Background/History
He stuck to rivers and lakes for a lot of his life, but after discovering electronics in a shipwreck for the first time, he got into making electronics. For a long time, he just held his breath while working with them above water, then after hearing about an aquatic dragon who made a sort of water-breather version of SCUBA gear he was inspired to make one of those for himself, allowing him to much more easily explore on land.
Body
Conduit's body is 5'11" long, and is a pale brown all over, with his chin being a bit more pale. A single long fin runs along his underside from his chest to the end of his tail, and there's small fins on either side of his head just before where his neck would be.
Clothing
He doesn't wear anything, and refuses to do so.
Accessories
When exploring on land, he typically has his respirator so he can breathe. He calls it FLOW ("Facilitation of Living Outside Water"). It's powered by his body's electricity, and made in a way that he can't accidentally short it out with normal usage of his electricity. Its water bottles can be changed out between a few different designs, and typically last several hours before the water needs replacing.
