about a year ago. I said when I got that the ref for these two was in the works and here it finally is! It was actually finished a few months ago, but I've been remiss on getting it posted.
I also said I'd give a little more insight into their background when I finally got around to posting this, and I don't like to be called a liar so prepare thy lore bags!
----- Dustin was born in May 20, 1988 under the name Franklin Fischer III, first child of Franklin Fischer Jr. and Mary Fisher (née Wagner). Younger sister Annabelle Fischer would follow October 18, 1991. Bothe Mary and Frank Jr.'s parents died young, Mary's in a house fire and Frank's of a particularly nasty bout of influenza. The fire that claimed Mary's parents also took her younger sister, Annabelle, after which she named her daughter in honor.
It's fall of 1994 and the Fischer family are driving home along some backroads. In the gloom of twilight, the sun just below the horizon, a deer jumps from the bush in front of the Fischer's car. Frank swerves to avoid the crash and ends up hitting a patch of ice and losing control. The car slams into a guardrail. Hard. The world goes black.
Dustin is the first to wake. Six years old at this point, he's hurt and scared. He tries to wake mom and dad, but they don't respond. He checks on Annabelle. She's also not waking up. He knows he has to find help and gets out of the car to find someone. He's found passed out in a ditch about three miles away a few hours later. He has no recollection of who he is or how he got there.
About an hour after Dustin left the car, a passerby finds the wreck. Finding the nearest home, they rouse emergency services. Annabelle is found to be alive, though unconscious with serious injuries. It seemed her car seat saved her from the worst. Mom and dad weren't so lucky; the two died on impact. The little girl woke from her coma months later, suffering from amnesia and aphasia. It took her years to catch up to where she was developmentally, but eventually she regained a rather "normal" developmental level and pace.
Both are adopted out to other families, though neither remember their life before the crash. Dustin has no idea who his family is at all. Annabelle is under the impression that all her family is dead. No one made the connection between the wreck and the little boy found alone miles away. In the era of pre-digital records Dustin's information was overlooked and, being the early 90's, DNA isn't that common of a tool. Aside from this though, both lead relatively normal lives with their adopted families.
----- There's more to their background than this, but I think this is enough for a ref sheet. I'll save the rest for another time.
