After what happened that day in Ethan’s house, the relationship between Sebastian and Ethan was only growing stronger. They wanted to be with each other all the time and more often than not they seem inseparable. There was only one thing that Sebastian could not come to ask the fox, and it was trying to have an open relationship. Of course, if Ethan wanted to have someone else as well, he wouldn’t say no that. He had started thinking about Tammy, and Sebastian wanted to make sure that he could convince the little fox.
It was already almost the end of October by this point. There was going to be a celebration for Halloween in the school. A dance that is. Sebastian was thinking about inviting the fox to be the one who dances with him.
That week Sebastian rose from the bed before his dad knocked on the door. He decided to get ready for school. Making his daily routine fast and swiftly. Once he was done, he decided to go to his parents’ room and talk with his dad beforehand. He saw the older wolf coming out of his room and waited until he saw him as well.
“Hello son, waking up this early in the morning? I suppose it is not because you feel more responsible”
“Well, I wanted to talk to you about something, so I decided to ask you before school started”
“Sure, let’s go to the kitchen. I can prepare breakfast while you ask me what you want to ask.”
Both males went to the kitchen and the older canine decided to prepare waffles for his son.
“Do you remember about the thing you said about open relationships?” Sebastian asked his dad.
“Yeah, why? Are you interested in trying it out?”
“Yeah, I really like Ethan, he makes me happy every time I see him. The thing is, I feel like I want to try it out with a girl friend of mine who likes me as well.”
“Oh boy Sebas, you are the exact copy of me. It terrifies me what you are going to do next. Please just use protection if you try it out.”
“What are you talking about?” the cub asked confused.
“Nothing son. Yeah, when I was a little bit older than you, I remember trying it out with both sexes. I liked some girls, but I also liked some boys as well. The thing is finding yourself and realize what you want at the end.”
“I know I want to be with Ethan that is for sure…”
“But you also want to try it out with that girl. Am I right?”
The cub just nodded.
“Well, the best you can do is to end your relationship right now. That would be the easiest way.”
“Dad! I won’t break up with Ethan.”
“Yeah, I know. I am saying it is easier than convincing your boyfriend about it. You will have to be truthful about it, not hide anything and ask him if he wants to try it out. But Sebastian, remember, even though Ethan may accept it, if he doesn’t like the idea from the beginning, he will hold it on and won’t tell you anything, but that could become a toxic idea that will eat him from inside.”
Sebastian thought a little before saying. “I know. I just don’t know how to talk to him”
“Well son, for that you will have to find it by yourself. Good luck”
The older wolf finished preparing breakfast and his wife came into the kitchen. They all talked about their day ahead and how they will deal with it. Sebastian, on the other hand, was lost in his own thoughts. He finished eating and prepared to leave for school.
Like every other day, the wolf went outside and waited for the bus, it took a little bit but eventually the yellow bus came into view, he got in and saw Alex sitting alone. The cat waved at him, and they sat down like they had been doing every day. Sebastian hadn’t told explicitly to Alex that he was gay, well partially at least, but the way he had been talking about Ethan with him probably gave him the hint about it.
“Hello Sebastian, good morning”
“Good morning, Alex, another day uh?”
“Yeah, another day, it has been a couple of weeks already since I came to the school but now, I felt so comfortable about it, and it is all thanks to you”
“Oh, c’mon you are a great guy to be friends with. I know you would have been with anyone that you want” Sebastian poke him with his elbow softly.
He just Shook his head. “You are giving me to many praises, you know that is not true. Thanks for trying to cheer me up, you are a great guy with a big heart Sebastian, Ethan is lucky to be with you”
“So… are you okay with that?” Sebastian asked.
“That you are dating Ethan? Yeah. Why wouldn’t I be?”
“Cool. I was just wondering. I will cheer for you when you find a girlfriend” The wolf said.
“Yeah… I don’t know yet. Girls are a little weird”
“Oh, sure…” Sebastian got surprised at that moment but didn’t want to push it anymore, so he just left it like that.
The bus soon arrived at the school, dropping all the cubs and teens in the process.
“I will be seeing you in class Alex. See you later”
“Yeah…” The cat said.
Sebastian when to the back of the school building where he always waits. He saw Ethan sitting in the same spot he always is, he was looking the other way. He sneaked behind him and put both of his paws in Ethan’s eyes.
“Guess who am I” Sebastian said.
“I wonder who? Maybe the sexy and tall wolf who I have as a boyfriend?”
“That is cheating” Sebastian said while removing his paws from the fox’s eyes.
“Did I lie?”
“No…”
“I think so” The fox patted the spot next to him giving the signal for the wolf to take a seat.
“How have you been my wolfy?”
“Good and you?”
“Same old. Do you have plans for this week?” Maybe we can do something interesting”
“I don’t have any plans, yet” The wolf said with a smirk.
“Do you have something in mind?”
“Yeah. Would you like to go with me to the dance from the school this weekend?” Sebastian was excited asking his boyfriend about it.
“The one we must wear something for Halloween? Yeah, for sure. I would love to go to the dance with you” Ethan said.
“Sweet, we can discuss later what are we going to be cosplaying as so we can match”
“Absolutely”
Sebastian kissed the fox’s cheek at that moment.
Ethan smiled before saying “You silly wolfy, that is what it takes to turn you on?” He took the other male paw in his, holding it tightly.
Not soon after the bell rang and both cubs walked towards the school building, they stopped holding paws once they were inside. Both walked together, stopping outside of Ethan classroom.
“See you in lunch Ethan”
“See you later Sebastian”
They waved at each other and Sebastian went to his own classroom.
Once he arrived at his own classroom he waived at mike and went to his own seat next to Alex.
“Sebastian, were you again with Ethan?” Alex asked.
“Yeah, we always are together before classes. We can only see each other when we are not in classes”
“Make sense. You guys look good together, I have never saw you argue with him”
“I mean, there isn’t a reason to argue… I hope there isn’t”
“That didn’t sound convincing, do you want to talk about it?” The cat asked.
“Maybe another time. I must figure thing out first”
The teacher came into the classroom, as soon as the second bell rang.
“Ok students, we have a new week of class ahead of us. There will be regular classes as always, don’t think because on Saturday you have the dance, you will have a day off.
All the cubs sounded disappointed by the news.
“We must proceed as always, so let’s start another day of class like we always do”
Soon after, the teacher was giving the students a topic for today. They were doing reviews for the exams that were coming next week. Sebastian was still thinking about what he had talked about with his father, but he didn’t know how to address it to the fox. He knew he needed to talk to someone, and he knew exactly who to talk with.
Once the class finished, he went directly to the counselor’s office. He checked in with a female who let him in. Once he got in, he saw the main counselor again, it had been a while since he saw him.
“Hello sir”
“Oh, hello little boy, I saw you before. Can you remind me your name?”
“Sebastian”
He started to look at his computer. “Sebastian, Sebastian. Here” He started to read his notes to see the previous session.
“You were talking to Mark last time I see. Are you coming for the same problem?”
“Kinda. Can I talk to him?”
“Yes, no problem. I will call him shortly. Wait here”
Sebastian started to think about everything that was going to happen. He wasn’t sure if Mark would be able to help him this time, but he trusted him, after all, he hadn’t done anything to betray his trust.
A couple of minutes later Mark came in and sat down on the couch in front of him.
“Sebastian, nice to see you again. It has been a while since we talked”
“Yeah, how are you mark, it has been a while”
“Good, thank you for asking. I know that you are not here just to say hello” the cat said.
“Yeah. Do you remember what we talked about last time?”
“Yes, about you liking someone and I advised you to meet new furs in order to know that feeling better”
“Yes, well. We are dating” Sebastian said.
“Congrats” The cat saw the look on Sebastian’s face before saying “You don’t look so happy about it, probably this is what you are questioning yourself and you are here for?”
“Yeah. Don’t get me wrong, like him. I don’t want to mess it up by doing something wrong”
“Him? Uh? I see” Mark started to write on his notes.
“Well, cat is out of the bag now. Me and my tongue cannot keep a secret” Sebastian sighed. It was the second time he had outed himself.
“Don’t worry. It is better for you to tell me the truth without hiding any detail. I won’t tell anybody about it. So, what are you worrying about?”
“Well, I want to try and have an open relationship, but I don’t know how to go about it” The wolf said.
“Wow, you are full of surprises. I didn’t think about you like that”
“Yeah… well I wanted to ask you about it and know your opinion” The wolf said while he felt a little ashamed about it.
“Alright. Well, this is new for me. I haven’t had a consultation about open relationships before, but I can give you my perspective and opinion about it if that helps” Mark said.
“Please”
“You see, open relationships are something that not many even think about because it can cause more harm than good. However, I know that they might work for some, and some furs like to experiment differently. So, I would advise you to talk with your partner and make sure that he is okay with the idea from the beginning, it all depends on him”
Well, he said the same as dad, that wasn’t much help he thought. “Sure, I will talk to him and tell him the truth. Thank you for the advice”
“No problem. Come every time you need to” He handed Sebastian a pass and Sebastian left the counseling office.
He went to history and handed the pass to the teacher before sitting down next to Alex.
“Where were you?” The cat asked.
“With the counselor”
“Why?”
“We can talk about it later, okay?” Sebastian said.
“Ok”
He didn’t want to explain to Alex everything right now, first he needed to figure out things by himself.
This time, the history teacher explained to the students about the black death and how it threatened to wipe out Europe as a whole and it almost achieved it. Sebastian felt bad learning about that fact and was thankful about how medicine and hygiene had come a long way ever since.
He moved to science next once the bell rang. He got into the classroom and saw Tammy there, he sat in his usual stool.
“Hello Tammy” Sebastian said.
“Hi Sebastian, how are you doing?”
“Good and you”
“Same old. How have you been with your bf?”
“I… It’s been going well. I still haven’t asked him about it. I will probably do it soon” The wolf said.
“Sure. I am in no hurry, but I am kinda excited about it”
“Are you really?”
“Yeah, who wouldn’t want to be with a caring and handsome wolf like you? I swear your bf is lucky to have you”
Sebastian blushed right there. “Thank you, Tammy. I didn’t think of myself that high”
“Just let me know when you do it and if you would want to do something, maybe resume what we couldn’t complete at that time?”
“Yes. I would love too”
“Sweet”
The bell rang and the class soon started. After that week where they saw sexual education, the teacher never picked up the topic again. Just some old and boring classes this time. Explaining how some animals survive in the wilderness and the food chain between carnivores and herbivores. Sebastian didn’t mind learning something new for once and paid attention to the explanation without missing details from it. He found it kind of intriguing for some reason.
Once the bell rang all the cubs went to the cafeteria. As usual Sebastian picked up a tray and picked up the food that was being served. He went outside and looked for Ethan, but he wasn’t there. He decided to move under a tree and texted his boyfriend telling him where he was.
He waited a couple of minutes until he saw the fox heading his way.
“Hey there foxy” Sebastian said.
“Hey there wolfy” Ethan got close to him and sat next to him, with his tray on his legs.
“Are classes going well?” The wolf asked.
“Yeah, nothing bad. Pretty easy I would say with everything coming up”
“Cool. So, what are we going to wear for the dance?” Sebastian asked Ethan.
“Well, we can decide later but we have to wear something that we can match for sure”
“Yeah… I don’t have anything to wear for a dance. Those things weren’t interesting to me before” Sebastian said.
“Then... What about if we go shopping for something that we can both wear for the dance. It could be a date also”
Sebastian liked that idea. “Sounds good. We should go before Saturday. Probably Friday after school would be the best. We should tell our parents and ask them to help us, after all, they should be pretty knowledgeable about these kind of things”
“I think so too. I will ask my parents today and I will text you about it so we can decide what time to go”
“Alright. I can wait for Saturday”
“It is a date before the dance then” Ethan said sounding happy about it.
Both cubs finished their meal before the bell rang. They got up and walked indoors together before separating and going to their respective classes.
As always Sebastian had gym class that day, so he went to the usual place and walked through the indoor field before arriving at the lockers.
“Hey Sebastian” The cat said.
“Hey Alex”
“Ready for last class before we leave for today?” He asked Sebastian.
“Yeah. Let’s get changed and go with the teacher”
Both cubs started to undress before changing into their usual gym clothes. Sebastian has noticed that Alex was more comfortable getting undressed in front of him, but he still was insisting on taking showers with Sebastian. Even though he didn’t mind it, he still felt like there was something else he was not telling him about it.
Once both cubs finished changing their outfits they went outside, and to the back of the building. This time P.E. was going to take place outdoors. They got together with the other students and waited for instructions from the lioness teacher
“Hello cubbies. Good to see you all again for another day. This time we are going to play volleyball. It is something that we don’t often do but I think we should play this sport for you to try something new”
Sebastian felt happy hearing that. He used to practice volleyball before coming to this school. He was in the sports team back in his own country and hadn’t played ever since.
All the cubs started to practice with a ball. The teacher showed them how to bump the ball, making sure they used the inside part of their joined forearms to hit the ball. Some cubs had trouble making it work, and some were okay, but it looked like they had never practiced the sport before. Sebastian didn’t have any difficulty in controlling the ball, after all this was the most basic thing about the sport.
Later, the students got together with someone to start to practice passes by handling the ball with the fingertips and throwing them to their respective partner. Sebastian as always was with Alex.
Both cubs seemed comfortable being with each other and Sebastian felt good now that Alex seemed comfortable with him. Once they were done with that practice, the teacher taught them how to hit the ball when serving for it. A lot of cubs couldn’t even hit the ball, while others hit it, but they didn’t go above the net. Sebastian missed a couple of attempts at first but later he didn’t have a problem making it work.
The class soon finished, and they went to their lockers. Alex kept talking with Sebastian all the way through.
“Wow, I didn’t know you were so good at volleyball. You don’t seem like an athletic one”
“Yeah, I don’t usually play anything else though. Before I came to the states, I used to practice it with my other teammates”
“Did you play for your school team?” Alex was intrigued.
“Yes, I did. We won a couple of tournaments”
“That is so cool. I wish I was like you” The cat felt a little down thinking about himself.
Sebastian put a paw on his shoulder before saying “I like you the way you are right now. If you want me to show you how to play it, maybe one day I can invite you to a match. That could be a fun date with Ethan now that I think it better”
“Oh, I wouldn’t want to get in between you two”
“Don’t worry, you are not”
Alex smiled. “Thank you. Would you like to shower together again?” The calico cat asked.
“Sure” By this point Sebastian had already got used to Alex asking him to shower with him. He hadn’t tried to do anything else after that first time.
Both cubs went to the school showers, this time it was a little more crowded and Sebastian as always tried to make Alex not feel uncomfortable. They both showered next to each other and finished that day without any funny business.
Once they changed to a clean set of clothes, they exited the building and went for the school buses. By this point Sebastian knew that Ethan was picked up by his parents next to the car loop. He saw the little fox waiting as always there. Sebastian told Alex to wait for him on the bus while he talked to Ethan.
“Hey there Ethan”
“Hello wolfy. Busy day?”
“Yeah, we practiced volleyball for the last class. Haven’t play it since ages” Sebastian started to remember the good times about it.
“You seem happy about it. I like when you smile like that”
The wolf didn’t expect the sudden attack in broad daylight. “Thank you. I like your smile too”
Ethan’s parents soon arrived there.
“Hello Sebastian, nice to see you again” The older male fox said.
“Hello Mr. and Mss. Lewis.”
“Hi honey, how are you doing?” The female fox said.
“Very good, thank you for asking. Mr. Lewis, would you take Ethan to buy a costume for the dance with me this weekend? I was thinking we could get together on Friday and maybe we can buy something that matches” Sebastian hoped for the older fox to say yes.
“Hmmm I don’t see why that would be a problem. Sure, let me know where and what time so I can drop Ethan”
“Thank you, Mr. Lewis,”
“I told you, please call me Robert”
The wolf nodded
“I will see you tomorrow Sebas” Ethan said.
“See you tomorrow”
They both hugged and Ethan got inside the car and Sebastian went for his bus.
“Anything interesting today son?” The older male fox said while pulling away from the drop off area.
“Same as always”
Ethan’s mom looked at him before saying. “So, are you going to the dance? That is so cute of you”
“Mom, please don’t tell me cute in front of Sebastian”
“Sure honey. I won’t call you that in front of your boyfriend”
The younger fox just sighed in the back seat.
Sebastian went to his bus and sat with Alex. They both talked about their week, nothing out of the ordinary for both cubs.
That night Sebastian asked his parents If they could take him to buy a costume for the dance. They obviously didn’t have a problem with that, they even praise him for asking the fox to go with him. He started to feel nervous about it.
The week passed without any other major event. The days fell shorter and shorter for the wolf. He felt increasingly more excited and nervous as the day passed. Sebastian had told Ethan the time and place where they would meet, he thought they could find something after asking his parents about where they could buy costumes for them.
After classes they went their way as always. Sebastian went for the bus and Ethan waited for his parents. The wolf just needed to wait for his parents until they finished working.
“So, you are going with Ethan today to buy something for the dance, right?” Alex asked.
“Yeah, I’ll make sure we buy something to match”
“You guys make a cute couple, send me a picture with the two of you when you have chosen your costumes”
Sebastian smiled when Alex said that. “Thank you, I will. By the way, have you started to look for a girlfriend?”
“Well… I haven’t yet. I haven’t decided if I want to date girls yet”
“oh…” Sebastian stayed in silence; he started to think about what the cat had said, but he didn’t want to cross the line.
“You can say it. I don’t mind if you ask” The cat said.
“Do you… like boys?”
“I don’t know. I think girls are cute, but I think you are cute too”
Sebastian felt flattered by Alex, but he didn’t know what to say about that statement.
“Oh, thank you”
They waited there in silence.
Once the bus arrived at Sebastian’s house he stood up and looked at Alex.
“I think you are cute too Alex” He just smiled and got off the bus without waiting for Alex reply.
That afternoon in his house, Sebastian got everything ready for that night, he made sure to do his homework, take a shower and even try to prepare his own meal. Even though he couldn’t do anything fancy because of his lack of skills. He wanted to ask his parents something and what better way to finish his tasks beforehand. Once his parents arrived, he waited for them at the entrance. They opened the door and saw the cub beaming with excitement in his eyes.
“Hey son, I know by now that when you are waiting here is because you want to ask us something, we are already used to it” The older wolf knew already that his son wanted something.
“Dad, can Ethan stay with us tonight?” Sebastian was almost jumping in excitement.
Michael looked at his wife to see what she would say. She just smiled at him. She let his husband decide. The older wolf just sighed, he knew he would never say no to his own son.
“Sure. I must talk to his dad to make sure he agrees with it”
“Thank you dad!” He jumped and hugged him.
“Calm down Sebas, you are not that little anymore for me to carry you like this, next time you will tackle me down” He laughed with his son.
Sebastian got down and hugged his mother, this time just walking to her.
“Give us 30 minutes and we will be ready” his dad said to him.
Sebastian wasted no time changing to go out. He got ready and waited in the living room. He sent a text to Ethan, making sure that he would bring a change of clothes for him to stay the night, he didn’t have a problem with it.
After 30 minutes his parents were ready to leave.
“Alright, let’s go champ” The older wolf said.
Sebastian jumped from the sofa and exited the house in a hurry, he couldn’t wait to see his boyfriend. Everyone got in the car and the older wolf drove to the meeting place.
“Do you have any idea what are you going to wear?” His mother asked.
“Not at all. The only thing I know is that Ethan wanted to wear something for us to match. Mom, dad. Would you help us picking up something good for both of us?” Sebastian asked his parents.
“Of course we will help you honey”
“Yeah champ. Leave everything to us, we will make sure you guys steal the night from everybody else” His father said.
Sebastian felt confident with his parents helping him. Every time they did something for him, everything went perfectly. He relaxed in the back seat until they reached the destination. The older wolf parked the car, and they got off. They all went for a new costume store inside a shopping mall that had opened just recently.
Sebastian texted Ethan to see where he was. The fox replied telling him he was on his way.
“What happen son, where is Ethan?” The older wolf asked his son while they all walked towards the store.
“He is coming. Probably will be a couple of minutes until he arrives”
“Let’s start looking for something in the meantime” His mother said.
They all went inside the store and started looking for anything they could find. Most of the costumes were for adults and late teens, Sebastian wasn’t sure where the ones for his size were.
He decided to ask for help from one of the workers.
“Hello sir, do you work here?” He asked a male horse.
“I certainly do”
“Would you show me where are the costumes for furs of my age?”
“Of course, follow me”
Sebastian called his parents, and they all went with the worker. Once they arrived at the section that were meant for early teens Sebastian phone buzzed. He knew that it meant that the fox had arrived.
“Dad, Ethan is here. I will go get him” He went to the entrance and found the fox with his parents.
“Ethan!” He said when he saw him
“Hello wolfy. Sorry for being late”
“Oh, don’t worry, we have just arrived too” They both hugged.
The older male fox looked at them before saying. “Hey Sebastian, have you already picked up something?”
“We haven’t yet. Let’s go choose something” He led the way while holding his boyfriend paw.
Not soon after they arrived where Sebastian parents were.
“Hello Michael” said the older fox
“Hey Robert, haven’t seen you in a while”
Both males shook paws. Their wives did the same.
“Sebastian did you decided what we are going to wear?” Ethan asked.
“No, I haven’t yet. Would you help me look for something?”
“Of course, I will” They held paws together and walked looking for a costume to wear.
They started to look through different sections. The ones that they wanted were Halloween ones, not too difficult to find because almost all the store was decorated for that day.
“What would you like us to wear?” Sebastian asked.
“We can go like scientist and monster. Maybe I can be the scientist, and you can be the monster”
“Sure, let’s try it out”
“What about this one?” The wolf asked. “I can be the werewolf, and you can be the hunter”
“Not bad also, lets pick it up and try it out”
Both cubs picked some costumes. They asked a worker if they could try them out. The store had some dressing rooms for furs to use. Both older males followed their sons and waited outside while their wives were looking for more options.
Sebastian was going to use a different dressing room, but Ethan stopped him before he could go in. Sebastian looked at him wondering what the issue was.
“Do you want to use one together? That way we would know how they would look on each other beforehand”
Sebastian looked at the two older males to see their reactions. They didn’t say anything. “Sure” the young wolf said.
Both cubs went in and started to undress, Sebastian felt his heart pumping at that moment. They only undressed until they were only wearing their underwear. Ethan smiled seeing Sebastian and the wolf did the same.
They started to dress up in the costumes. Once they finished dressing, they looked at each other and in the mirror.
“What do you think?” The wolf asked.
“Looks ok, let’s ask our parents to see what they think”
Both cubs got out and asked their dads for their opinion. They didn’t think it looked bad, but it was not the best. They got in again and tried another one. Every time it was something with one of the costumes, like they tried to match the other aesthetic, but they missed the mark in the process.
After a couple attempts, they didn’t look too convinced about the results.
Their mothers had come back from their search and found a couple of Halloween suits that they could rent for the day. Maybe they could try something else to see how they would look.
The cubs went to see them and found some that resemble vampires’ clothes. They picked them up and went to the dressing room again to try them out. Once they came out, everyone told them they looked perfect. Both cubs smiled at each other.
“I think these are the ones” Sebastian said.
“Yeah, for sure. We can use red color to fake the blood. I think this could work” Ethan said.
“Alright, I think we found the costumes for the dance”
Ethan tried to get into the dressing room again to change but Sebastian stopped him.
“What?” Ethan asked.
“Do you mind if we take a picture together?” They haven’t taken a picture since they started to date and tonight felt like the perfect opportunity. Also, he had to send Alex the photo he had promised him.
The fox hugged him before saying. “I would love to take a picture together”
All the adults just felt happy with the two lovebirds showing their love in front of them.
They all went to pay for the suits and Sebastian mother had the perfect idea where to take that picture. Once they exited the store, they went to a photography studio that was near them, inside the mall.
Once they went inside the store, they asked the photographer if he could take some pictures and after that use a green screen to add different backgrounds, to make them look amazing. Of course, the photographer always got that kind of request, so he was already used to them.
They both went to a booth to get the photos taken. Once they were in, they looked like friends in the photographer’s eyes. They pose next to each other at the beginning. The more time went by, the more comfortable they felt.
“Alright cubbies. Last picture, would you like to request something in particular?” The photographer asked.
Ethan had an idea at that moment. “Would you add a golden castle in the background and a big red-carpet underneath us?”
“Of course, no problem”
“Alright get ready” the photographer said.
They got together and held each other, looking like the perfect couple at that moment. Sebastian leaned and put his snout next to Ethan’s. He held him the closest he could.
The photographer just looked at them for a second before saying “Alright, smile. 3,2,1”
After that, they waited at the front of the store with their parents for a couple of minutes before their pictures were ready. They got 2 copies of each photo for both families. The adults looked at the photos, one by one and they seemed happy looking at them. The final one was the best picture of them all, a photo to remember.
Sebastian told the photographer to send them to his to email as well. Once he got them, he sent them to Alex.
They all left the store and decided to go eat something. They went to a local Chinese restaurant and try to order to eat there. Once they sat down, they ordered the food.
“Robert, would you like to go for a smoke while we wait for the food?” Sebastian dad asked the older fox.
“Sure”
They got up and left. Sebastian was just focused on Ethan next to him, feeling happy spending time with him outside of classes, almost like a date.
After a couple of minutes, the food arrived, the older males were nowhere to be seen.
“Sebastian, would you mind calling your dad and tell him that the food is here already?” Sebastian mom told him to fetch him.
The cub just nodded and went outside. “He said that they were having a smoke so probably they are somewhere close” Sebastian thought. He started to look for them and found them on a nearby bench next to each other, smoking. They seemed happy.
“Dad the foo---” Before he could finish the sentence, both males kissed in front of him.
Sebastian saw how adults kissed at that time. He had seen his father and mother kissing before, but this one was different. It was fill with lust and desire for each other, reminding him like when Ethan was in heat. He waited there until they finished their kiss, he didn’t want to interrupt them. After a couple of seconds both males look at each other and Sebastian stood in front of them.
“Dad, Robert. Food is ready” he said while smiling at both males.
“Oh, son. Thanks for telling me this. Robert, let’s leave it for another day, okay?” Michael said.
“Sure. For another day”
Everyone started to walk to the restaurant again.
“How much did you see?” His father asked Sebastian.
“Enough to see both of you kissing” He just kept walking.
“Are you okay with that?”
“Yeah. If you and mom are, why wouldn’t I be?”
“Robert, would you let Ethan sleep in our house tonight? We want to go to the school dance together” Sebastian said to the older fox.
Robert felt like he couldn’t refuse after what the wolf cub had seen a couple of minutes ago. “Yeah… no problem. Can you please keep this a secret?”
“No problem. I won’t say anything” Said the younger wolf.
They arrived at the table and sat down next to their respective wives. Ethan and Sebastian sat together on the other side of the table. Once they finished eating, they went to the parking lot and Ethan picked up his bag with his clothes to stay for the night. The adults said goodbye to each other while Ethan and Sebastian were still holding hands.
“See you tomorrow after the dance son” The older fox said to his cub.
“See you tomorrow dad. Goodnight mom” He hugged her.
“Goodnight son”
Ethan’s parents went on their way while Sebastian family got in the car. Both cubs sat next to each other on the back seat. They didn’t say much on the way to the house, they were thinking about the plans for tomorrow. Once they arrived at the house the cubs waited for the older wolf to open the door. Before they could leave, the older wolf talk to both.
“Alright cubbies, before you go and play around, please take a shower”
“We will dad” Sebastian took Ethan’s paw and raced towards his room. Once they arrived, he closed the door behind him.
“This will be the first time I sleep in your house. This is exciting!” Ethan jumped in happiness.
“Yes, it will be. You heard my father, I should take a shower before he reminds us again”
“Okay, I will be waiting here then until you finish” Ethan said.
Sebastian picked a change of clothes from his closet and went towards his bathroom. The cub closed the door behind him and started to undress. He wanted to ask Ethan to take a shower with him, but he decided maybe another day when his parents were not in the house would be better.
It took him a little bit less than 10 minutes to finish showering. He got dressed before exiting the bathroom and saw the fox on his bed.
“Alright you turn” Sebastian told the fox.
Ethan was lying in the wolf’s bed when he heard his boyfriend calling him. He got up and picked up his clothes. He went to the bathroom wagging his tail behind him. He got next to Sebastian and whispered in his ear. “Don’t try looking in. I won’t lock the door though” He started walking again before closing the door.
Sebastian didn’t understand it. Was it an invitation or not? He didn’t know what that meant. He just decided to not do anything and waited for the fox to finish showering. Thinking about his boyfriend being in his bathroom naked made his little friend tingle a bit. He decided to stop thinking about it before that could lead to something else.
Once Ethan finished, he came out wearing his PJs.
“Those look cute on you” The wolf said.
“Thank you. I like them too. We should buy PJs for couple next time”
Ethan noticed Sebatian spacing out at that moment. He sat next to the wolf on his bed.
“What happen do you have something in mind?”
“I have a lot of things in my mind” Sebastian didn’t know where to start.
“You can tell me. I trust you” Ethan said while putting a paw on Sebastian’s.
“Ethan there has been a couple of things lately that I have thought about, I need to get them out of my chest. I don’t know how to say it, but I have been thinking about them a lot and I want to be truthful with you about it”
“Ok. What is it about?” The fox felt intrigued.
“You know that I like you right? A lot”
The fox nodded.
“But there has been a part of me that I don’t know. Since I met you, I feel like I have rushed into this relationship. I feel like I jumped all the hurdles, and we went directly to boyfriends, and this made me question whether I started dating you because I like you or because I didn’t want to be alone. It is hard for me to find an answer, but maybe I know how to now”
“I will support you in whatever it is but please don’t tell me to break up with you” He hugged his neck in a tight hug. “You don’t understand, you are the best thing that has happened to me. Since I met you, I feel like I have found my other half, I don’t feel alone anymore. Please stay with me” He started to tear up.
Sebastian broke the embrace when he started to hear the fox sobbing. “Ethan, look at me” he said waiting for the fox to open his eyes. “I don’t want to break with you. You are the best thing that has happened to me too. I mean it” he kissed him and a couple of seconds later he started to wipe his tears. “You are a silly one. I won’t break with you”
“Then what is it about” The fox said when he started to calm down.
“Look. I want you to be honest about it. Please. I need to know this before anything else. And promise me, you are going to tell me the truth of what you think about it and if you ever felt like your opinion has change you must tell me” Sebastian said while looking at him in the eyes with a serious expression.
Ethan looked at him confused before saying. “Okay please tell me what it is about”
Sebastian took a deep breath before saying “Would you mind trying an open relationship?”
They both stayed in silence for a couple of seconds before Ethan said. “Really? You want to try being with other ones?”
“Please tell me what you think about it”
“Why? Please tell me before I say what I think about it”
“Look. Before I met you, I didn’t know I was gay. I never liked boys before, until you came into my life. I need to experiment what I couldn’t and make sure if I am gay or I just like you”
“Are you saying you want to try it out with other boys?”
Sebastian looked down before saying. “And girls” he couldn’t look up again. He felt like he was betraying Ethan thrust. “I am sorry. You don’t deserve me. It is better if you find another guy who will only look at you”
He stayed like that for a couple of seconds before he heard the bed creak and the fox leaving his room. He knew that he fucked everything up. Why did he have to be like that and try a stupid thing out. He spent a couple of minutes lying in bed thinking about what he had done. He felt horrible making Ethan suffer but he truly wanted to tell him everything. He decided to go and look for him. He knew that he was downstairs, after all there was nothing else besides the bathroom and his parents’ bedroom.
He went to the living room and found his father with Ethan there.
Sebatian just got in front of them looking at Ethan. The fox looked sad about it.
“Sebas, you shouldn’t tell your boyfriend that. You should take his feelings into consideration” Said his dad.
“I am sorry dad, but I had to ask him about it. It is better this way”
The older male just sighed hugging the little fox in his arms. “It is not about that you thick head”
“What are you talking about?” Sebastian felt confused.
The older wolf waited for the fox to tell it by himself. Ethan stopped hugging his boyfriend’s dad and looked at the wolf cub before saying. “I don’t care whether you want to try having an open relationship or not. You are the only one I care about so never say that I should find someone else because you are the only one for me stupid!” the fox yelled the last word. He seemed more angry than sad now.
The wolf sat down next to his boyfriend. “I am sorry Ethan, I won’t say it again. Can you forgive me?”
He looked at him and hugged him tightly. “I can’t say no to you. Just promise me you will be with me no matter what”
Sebastian accepted the hug with one of his own before saying. “I promise you silly foxy”
“Alright boys, I think you should take it easy for the remaining of the night. Don’t forget tomorrow will be a big night” The older canine told them. “I will leave you two alone. Probably you have a lot to talk about. Sebastian please don’t stay up too late”
“I will dad. Thanks”
Sebastian’s dad got up and went upstairs.
“So how are you going to try this open relationship?”
Sebastian broke the hug and looked at the fox firmly. “Ethan, I want to be completely transparent with you. I won’t hide anything from you”
“Sounds good…” The fox didn’t seem so happy about it but couldn’t say anything else.
“There is a girl who I was attracted to before we started dating. I don’t know if I feel the same about her as I do for you, but I need to figure things out before we start going faster than we are going now”
“Ok… “
“Also, if you want to try it out with someone else, I won’t say anything. You deserve to…”
“Don’t you dear to finish that sentence. You are the only one I need, I don’t need anybody else” The fox said sounding defensive.
“Alright. Just to let you know that. Thanks for this you are the best!”
“Yeah, yeah… well for today at least you are all mine”
“I am all yours foxy”
They got up holding paws and went to Sebastian room. They played video games, talked with each other and laughed for the remaining of the night. They seemed like nothing had happened earlier on.
Sebastian saw that it was already 11 pm and he knew that they had to sleep now before his dad said something to them.
“We should probably go to bed now. I don’t want my dad to say something to us”
“Yes, you are probably right”
“Would you like the bed? I can sleep on a sleeping bag” Sebastian said while starting to take out his sleeping bag from his closet.
“Sebastian” Ethan held his boyfriend arm stopping what he was doing.
“Tonight, we should sleep together”
“But what if my parents walk in and see us like that?”
“I don’t care. They already know about us and approve it, why are you worried about it? Also, owe me big time after what you did tonight”
The fox was right in what he had said. Why was he worried about his parents?
“You are right, sorry. Let’s go”
They climbed to bed together and were staring at each other’s eyes.
“I love you wolfy. You know that?”
“I do. I love you too” They kissed right there, reassuring the love for each other and cementing that night as any other that continue to elevate and make their feelings deeper of love.
The following day arrived not soon after and both cubs felt happy waking up with their lover next to them.
The day passed with them eating, playing around and looking forward to that night. Sebastian didn’t know what would happen, but he was excited about it.
Once the night arrived, they started to get ready to go to the school dance and wore what they had used the day before.
Sebastian asked her mother if she could put make-up on them, making them more like vampires. Of course, the female didn’t have a problem with that.
“You don’t need fake teeth to look like one, with those fangs you can suck my blood, and I won’t say no to that” Ethan said.
Sebastian blushed when he heard it.
“You guys are perfect for each other. I am glad you are his boyfriend Ethan” The female dog said.
“Thanks mam”
“Mom, don’t say embarrassing thing in front of Ethan please”
“Honey you should be proud and enjoy it. Don’t worry about it”
She finished doing the final touches and they were ready for the dance.
“Alright champ. Are you ready for the dance?” His father asked him.
“Yes dad. We are ready” He took the fox paw and walked to the car with him.
They all went inside the care and the older male canine drove away towards the school.
“Remember son, once you finish the dance you should call me and let me know to pick you up” The older canine looked at Ethan from the front view mirror before saying to him. “Ethan, can you please take care of Sebastian?”
He smiled and hugged his boyfriend’s arm before saying. “I will dad, don’t worry”
It didn’t take long for them to arrive at the school. It was decorated with jack-o-lanterns, fake cobwebs, and lighting resembling the usual Halloween spirit.
“Alright cubbies. Enjoy your night”
“We will, thanks dad. Goodbye mom” Sebastian said.
“Goodbye son, see you later”
The fox and wolf cubs walked holding paws and entered the gymnasium building from the backside of the school. It was already decorated for the occasion.
There were all kinds of cubs and teens there. Some look familiar to both and some look unknown to them. They decided to walk towards the fountain drink first. Sebastian hoped that maybe someone that he knew could be there.
“Do you want a drink?” The wolf asked his boyfriend.
“Sure”
He started to pour drinks for both. It had a red color, and he didn’t know what it was. After trying the drink, he realized that it was red lemonade.
“Not bad. I think it is good” he said to the fox. The other canine just nodded.
“Sebastian” He heard someone calling him from behind when he turned around saw Tammy there. She was wearing a costume resembling a dead widow, she had a lot of white powder on her.
“Tammy. I didn’t think you would be here”
“Why not? I thought that maybe you would, so I wanted to come here for once” he noticed the fox behind him and was wondering about the pair of outfits that they were wearing. “So, is this…?”
“Yes, I would like to introduce you to my boyfriend. Ethan this is Tammy, Tammy this is Ethan”
The fox shook paws with the border collie.
“So, you are the one Sebastian always talks about?”
“Oh? Did you guys talk about me? I am dying to know what it was about. I hope nothing bad.
“Tammy, can we talk in private? For a second?”
“Sure”
“I will be back Ethan”
“Ok…” the fox looked kinda sad when his boyfriend said that.
Sebastian led the way towards the school hallway away from the main event so they could talk in private. He saw there was no one around so he decided to talk there.
“Tammy I already talked to him and everything is good now. If you want to, we can try it out and see how it goes” Sebastian felt nervous like the first time trying to kiss her.
“Really? And why would you think I would be okay with that?”
“But… we talked about it…” They remained in silence for a couple of seconds until the female dog started laughing.
“Look at your face, you are so cute when getting teased about it” She kept laughing.
Sebastian seemed embarrassed about it, but he couldn’t back down now after all he had been through.
“Don’t worry I was joking. Of course I would like to be with you. Sucks you are not only mine, you seem like a good boyfriend to be with”
“Sorry. Yeah so, we can try it out, but Ethan will still be my boyfriend. We can figure things out while we get to know each other better if you would like that” The wolf said.
“I would like that. So… would you like to try the kiss that didn’t happen the other day?”
Sebastian knew this was going to happen and he was ready for it.
“Yes. I would love to kiss you”
“Alright, come here”
Tammy was the same height as Sebastian in comparison with Ethan that was smaller. He took the border collie paw and held it against his, they were bigger than his boyfriend. He started to intertwine his digits against the female and step closer to her.
She closed her eyes, but Sebastian didn’t. He wanted to see this from beginning to end without missing a detail. They got their snout closer until they felt each other lips and finished what it was long due. This time he didn’t use his tongue, not like Ethan’s first time, he didn’t want to overdo it, maybe next time he thought.
They kept kissing for some seconds without any worry from the world outside their bubble. Just as it started it ended. They both look at each other before parting lips away.
“How was it?” Sebastian asked.
“Amazing. My first kiss with the boy I like? Couldn’t be better” She blushed under the dim lit ambiance.
“Same for me”
“You don’t regret it right?”
“I don’t. I hope we can start getting to know each other better and do more as we feel more comfortable with each other”
“I… I would like that” the female dog said.
“Alright, we should get back to the main event. We don’t want to miss it after all”
“Sure. I don’t want to steal someone else’s boyfriend tonight. Another day we can continue where we left off”
Sebastian smiled and nodded at tammy’s words. They got back to where they came from, and Ethan was nowhere to be found. Sebastian was looking around, but he didn’t see him.
“Tammy, we can see each other later. I need to find Ethan”
“Alright see you later then”
Sebastian went around from where the other furs were dancing, looking towards the bleachers. There were a lot of other furs there who were dressed in costumes, so it was difficult to distinguish his boyfriend from everyone. He decided to call him. The fox picked up the call and told him he was in the same place they always were in the back of the school. Sebastian went outside and walked towards it.
He saw his boyfriend shining under the moonlight under a tree, sitting and looking at the sky. He walked towards him until he was next to him and sat down.
“Why are you here, I thought you would be enjoying the night inside” The wolf said.
“I would be if you were with me. Honestly, without you there I felt out of place. I needed to get some air outside”
“Ethan, I won’t be always next to you. Can you try to enjoy yourself a little bit more without me?”
The fox looked at him and he noticed that his eyes were red, it seemed like he was crying. Sebastian hugged him when he saw that.
“I am sorry if I made you cry. I am a bad boyfriend” Sebastian said.
“Maybe. But I am also a bad one as well. I already accepted the reality, but it still hurts knowing about it”
“Ethan, I like you. That would never change. I will always be here for you, always”
“I know. It just my negative thoughts I have. Sorry I am this way”
“Hey, you don’t have to apologize for anything. I love the way you are”
“I love the way you are too” Ethan said.
They both approached faces until they kissed. Sebastian suddenly started to compare Tammy’s lips against Ethan unconsciously. “Maybe I need to kiss her with tongue to see how it would feel” he thought. While spacing out, Ethan used his tongue and invaded the other canine’s mouth. Sebastian woke up from his dream and started to let his tongue in, using his as well.
They just stayed there and soaked from their love. They broke the kiss and smiled at each other.
“Better?” Sebastian asked.
“Yes. Better”
Sebastian got up and handed his paw to his lover. “Would you allow me this dance?”
Ethan took his paw and nodded. Sebastian took him inside again and led him towards the dance floor. Where they started to dance to the beat of the song.
The first notes of a lively pop song filled the air. They shuffled, a little stiffly at first, then Sebastian spun Ethan, who stumbled slightly but recovered with a wide grin. Their laughter mingled with the upbeat beat, as they fumbled through steps, occasionally bumping knees, but always coming back to each other. The floor beneath their feet became a dance floor, a vibrant stage for their shared, clumsy joy.
Next, the soulful strains of blues filled the room. The tempo slowed, and their movements became more intimate, a gentle sway. Sebastian pulled Ethan closer, their bodies fitting together in a comfortable, if still slightly awkward, embrace. Sebastian dipped Ethan, a moment of unexpected grace amidst their earlier missteps, held in the lingering notes of the guitar. It wasn't about flashy moves anymore; it was about connection, about the quiet understanding that passed between them with every shared, fumbling step.
The music kept changing and the cubs enjoyed themselves at that moment. It wasn’t until the final song of the night. A soft, romantic melody began that they joined bodies. It was a love song, a timeless classic. Sebastian held Ethan close, and they swayed gently, lost in each other's eyes. The world outside their personal space faded away, leaving only the music and the soft rhythm of their breaths. He leaned in, and their lips met in a tender, lingering kiss, a perfect ending to their impromptu, wonderfully imperfect night, sharing that memory forever in their heart.
Once it ended, they decided to head outside. Sebastian texted his dad while Ethan did the same. They waited on a nearby bench for their parents.
“Did you enjoy it?” Sebastian asked.
“Yes, I did. Thank you”
He held Ethan’s paw. “I love you”
“I love you too”
They didn’t say anything else. They just sat next to each other while Ethan rested his head on Sebastian shoulder. Sebastian closed his eyes and tried to rest from the exhausting night.
Sebastian’s phone buzzed letting him know his father was already waiting for him. He got up walking with Ethan holding his paw. Once they reached his dad’s car they waited for Ethan’s dad. Not soon after the older fox arrived and they shared a kiss and hug.
“See you later foxy”
“See you later wolfy”
Ethan got in his father’s car and Sebastian did the same.
“Did you enjoy the night champ?” His father asked.
“I did. Thank you, mom and dad”
“For what honey?” The female asked
“For everything” He didn’t say anything else and waited in the back seat until they arrived home.
Nothing out of the ordinary after that. Getting ready to sleep. Showering, eating, listening to music until it was time to sleep. He remained in bed closing his eyes and waiting until his exhaustion kicked in, just like that, he fell asleep. Another day for the life of the two cubs who share their love for each other while facing the unknows of life together.
