It was the next day after Ethan’s birthday. In the house there was a young wolf sleeping in his bed, he had slept like a log the whole morning and he was beginning to wake up. He started to move his paws unconsciously, with his eyes still closed expecting to find his lover next to him. After a couple of seconds patting the bed, he opened his eyes and jumped out of the bed looking for the fox, he went down the stairs at top speed and made a ruckus around the house. His father was on the couch in the living room, and he heard all the noise he was making.
“HEY, HEY, HEY. What is going on Sebas? Why are you running around the house like that?”
“Where is Ethan? I was with him when I fell asleep and now, he isn’t here. I was in his fort and remember that were laying next to each other and..”
“Calm down, Calm down! Jeez, you are with so much energy today. Look around and tell me where you are right now.” His father said.
“In our house”
“Yes, and what you were doing before you came stomping to the living room?”
“I was on my bed sleeping”
“Now can you think of why you were on your bed sleeping?” His father made sure the cub put the pieces by himself instead of directly telling him about it.
“Did you bring me here and put me on my bed?”
“Ding, Ding, Ding! Yeah, I did. You were so knocked out that you looked like you had been hit by an enchant and you were a prisoner in your own mind. I wondered if you could even wake up.”
The older wolf remembered what Ethan had told him about how his son looked like the sleepy beauty and had to be woken up with a kiss. He just cringed in his own mind.
“I see” The cub just blushed and stood still there.
“Come here son I have to talk to you about that boy”
The cub moved to the couch and sat next to his father. His father picked him up and put it on his lap. “uff you are a big boy now. It is not as easy as before.”
The cub sat on his father’s lap putting an ear on his father’s chest. “What do you think about him dad? Did I make the correct choice?” Sebastian was insecure about everything until that point and needed reassurance from his dad to make sure everything was okay.
He put both of Sebastian’s paws in one of his and used his other paw to caress his son’s back. Up and down, again and again. “Sebas, it is not my place to decide if it was right or wrong. You are the only who can decide that. You don’t need my approval to be with whoever you want. That is your decision and only yours.” He said before kissing his son’s head.
“I like him dad” he said while putting his face on the older wolf’s chest.
“Then I like him too. Is that what you wanted to hear?”
“Yes” the cub squeezed his father’s paw.
“Good. Now, I need to ask you something.”
Sebastian took his face away from the wolf’s chest and looked at him. “What is it?”
“What happened in that fort when you were with that little fox?”
Sebastian just blushed and started to remember the kiss with Ethan, every detail that he felt flooded his memories and couldn’t control his poker face anymore. “Dad, do I really need to tell you that?” he didn’t want to talk about the most embarrassing thing that he had done with his dad (Apart from what he had imagined the other day in the bathroom, that could never come into light)
“You don’t have to if you don’t want to. But I would rather you tell me the truth and not hide anything from me. I love you and I will support you by guiding you if you need me to.” His father said with a loving tone.
“Dad, we ki…kissed” he said while hiding his face with his paws and resting his face against the adult’s chest.
“Is that the only thing you guys did there?” His father wanted to make sure.
“Yes, I promise.” The cub said after looking at the floor.
“Ok I trust you” His father thought that maybe something else had happened with the way the the fennec fox had joke with him, but he realized everything was in his mind after all.”
“Anyways, Sebas your school has asked me for my approval for you to see a new class and I wanted to know if you were okay with it.”
“A new class? What is it about?” the cub was intrigued by the sudden news.
“It is about health education and the changes you face when you grow up.”
“Yeah, I don’t mind it. If it is another class, I will do my best to get the highest marks that I can” the cub said confidently.
“That is not the issue…”
“Then what is it?” Sebastian didn’t understand what the problem was.
“You will see when the time comes, just to let you know, if you need any help don’t be afraid to ask me or your mother. I know that sometimes some topics are difficult to talk with your mother so if you feel you want to talk to me about something specific, I will do by best to guide you in the best way possible.” His father didn’t want to confuse his son yet and hoped he would talk to him when he started to question his own body.
“Sure, I will.” He stayed in silence until he took a breath and mustered the courage to ask his dad. “Dad, can I invite Ethan to our house today?”
His father was expecting at any moment for this to happen, after seeing the fox yesterday he understood that not only was the fox bewitched by him, but his son was also bewitched by the fox. “You guys complement each other really well” his father said.
“What was that? He asked.
“Nothing, yeah you can invite your little boyfriend today.” The older canine said.
He saw that his son didn’t say anything this time when mentioning that word, before he just refused it. “I thought that that was the only thing you guys did, is something else you haven’t told me yet?” He questioned the cub
“What do you… Oh yeah. He is my boyfriend I forgot to tell you.”
“I see everything makes sense now” He thought that the fox was just joking with him, but he meant what he said after all. They became a couple yesterday and it was official.
“Honey the food is ready” His mother said from the kitchen.
“Alright let’s go eat lunch.” They went to the kitchen to eat, while on the table, Sebastian took his phone and texted Ethan to see if he wanted to come today to his house. After a couple of minutes his phone buzzed and saw that the fox had written him back saying yes. He texted him his address and told him to meet him in an hour.
“Sebas don’t use your phone while we are eating, it is bad manners” The older wolf told the young cub.
“Sorry, Ethan is coming soon” he said.
“Oh, that is good honey. I will go to the hair saloon to get ready for guests then.” Her mother said.
They finished eating lunch and Sebastian helped his father to wash the dishes while his mother got ready to leave. Once the cub finished his task he went to his room and had a shower. He made sure to use extra shampoo this time, he wanted to smell good for the little fox. It took him a little bit but once he finished, he went to his room and put some brown jeans and a casual sky-blue shirt. The phone buzzed, he picked it up and saw a text saying that the fox was on his way.
After 10 minutes there was a ring on his bell. The cub was so excited that he went downstairs skipping some stairs in the process. He saw his father opening the door in front of him, and not soon after both cubs saw each other, they ran into each other’s arms and hugged tightly.
“Ethan!” Sebastian said.
“Hello wolfy, how are you” the fox said softly.
Behind them was Robert, Ethan’s father, with a face of disbelief seeing them like they were brothers who hadn’t seen each other for years.
“Robert, didn’t think we would see each other again so soon after yesterday.” Michael said.
“Yeah, me either, looks like they will be inseparables after all” The older fennec fox said.
Sebastian tugged Ethan arm and was trying to take him upstairs, when his father said. “Sebastian, you know that we don’t wear shoes inside the house”
“Sorry, I was so excited to show Ethan my room that I forgot about it. Ethan you can take your shoes, and we can go to my room afterwards.” He said embarrassed
“I am sorry da—Mister, it is my fault, please don’t be hard on Sebas” The little fox said looking at the older canine.
“Son, I know that you like your little boyfriend, but his dad is right. He is not saying this because he wants to, there are rules that everybody must follow and, in his house, he is the one who have the final word.” The older fox told his son.
Ethan took his shoes off and put them next to the door.
“You can go now. Don’t run around the house, I don’t want either of you to get injured” The older wolf said.
The cubs proceeded to go upstairs while joining paws.
“Sorry for that my little one is like a tornado” the fennec said.
“Yeah, I haven’t seen mine so excited before is like he started to live his life.”
“Well, I think I should go” the fennec said.
“Wait. Do you want to drink a beer with me?” Michael said.
The fox didn’t know what to say but he didn’t want to be rude. “Sure, I can stay a little bit” Robert replied.
“Cool, take your shoes off and follow me.” Both canines when to the kitchen.
Once Ethan was in Sebastian’s room, he started to look around him. He saw that it was a minimalistic room with nothing out of the ordinary. On his desk he had his laptop open and saw that he had some games in his library.
“You have steam installed?” The fennec fox asked
“Yeah, I do. Sometimes I like to play games” Sebastian said.
“That’s cool, I sometimes play games with my brother he is a big gamer, and he sometimes challenges me to beat him, even though I never can. It is fun though.”
“I can go easy on you if you want” Sebastian said.
“Maybe later”
He kept looking around and saw some trophies that had a volleyball ball above them, he tried to read it but couldn't understand them. It was not English but Spanish. The only thing he could read was his name “Sebastian Torres” on them.
“Is your last name Torres?”
“Yeah, but you are not saying it right”
“How do I pronounce it?”
“In Spanish you don’t say like “two - rres, it is T – O and then rres. Think about it like the name “Tom” but take the “M” out and add rres . Torres”
“Torres, that is cool. Do you speak Spanish?”
“I do. I am from South America, and I am here just because my father has a job here and we can stay thanks to him. I don’t know how long but hopefully for a long time.”
“Wait are you going back to your country?” The fox sounded in shock for the sudden news.
“I don’t know yet, lets see how things go. I would love to stay here; I wouldn’t like to be away from you.” The wolf said.
“I wouldn’t like that either.” He walked towards the wolf and hugged him tightly. “I know nothing about politics or how the system works but I know that if you marry someone from here you can stay with them.”
“Yeah, but I don’t know if I want to marry someone who I know nothing about”
“Maybe you could marry me, and you can stay with me.” The fox said.
Both just stayed there in silence without saying anything. “Has this little fox proposed to me just one day after being boyfriends?” Sebastian just thought about it.
The bigger boy started to laugh uncontrollably, he couldn’t control his laughter at that point and laughed at the tops of his lungs.
The smaller boy got angry with the older boy for not taking it seriously. “I am serious don’t laugh about it”
The black furred boy just took a step back and fell on his butt. He was hugging his stomach and saying “My stomach hurts” while continuing laughing.
The fox was angry and embarrassed with him, so he turned around and walked away. When Sebastian stopped laughing, he noticed the smaller boy was not in his room anymore, so he went to look for him. He went downstairs and found his little lover sitting down with both adults pouting and looking angry.
“Sebastian what did you do to Ethan? he looks angry” His father asked.
“I didn’t do anything he just came here out of nowhere”
“Is your fault for not taking this seriously silly wolfy” the smaller fox said while pouting.
“Son, what happened?” the fennec fox asked his son while bringing the empty beer bottle to the sink.
“I told him to marry me, and he just laughed about it.” *crash* the glass bottle fell from the older male hands.
“Ouch, Ouch!” Robert sounded in pain, some of the shards laying around were in his right foot paw.
“Dad, are you okay?” The little fox asked.
“Yeah just a few cuts, it doesn’t look too deep.” The male fox tried to sound strong in front of his son.
“Sebastian, go get me the first aid kit in the bathroom.”
The younger wolf went running towards the bathroom and got the box. He returned and saw his father helping the fennec fox walking towards the chair with his arm around the wolf. He made the fox sit down and took the aid kit and got to his knees to see the cut.
“I promise son, is not that deep.” The older fox said to his son.
“Sebastian go outside with Ethan. Go for a walk” The canine said to his son.
“But dad I need to know if Ethan’s dad it’s okay” the younger wolf sounded worry.
“I promise that he is fine, just go for a walk and leave it to me.”
“Follow Sebastian Ethan, when you come back, I will be like new.” His father said to his son
“Cmon Ethan lets go” Sebastian took Ethan’s paw on his own and went for a walk.
“How bad is it?” the fox asked.
“Good news? I don’t see a deep wound.”
“And the bad one?”
“There are mini shards around your foot, so it is gonna be a stinger for you to walk again without feeling a little bit of discomfort”
“That doesn’t sound that bad I can manage it Ouch!” he said when Michael took one of the shards out.
“Sorry, your foot is really small and soft that means that you are gonna feel a little bit of pain every time I remove a shard”
“Don’t worry just do it.” The older male said without looking.
“Do you want to take my paw? Maybe that will help you to feel less pain.”
“Really? Are you sure? I don't want to make you uncomfortable.”
“Oh, I wouldn’t, actually I'd be flattered if you did.” Said the wolf.
“If you don’t mind” the fennec took the wolf’s paw in his
The wolf knew that it would be fluffier and smaller, but still he was surprised when he felt it. He got distracted by it and just shook his head and started to see the wound again.
He started to remove every little shard he could see and when he finished, he said. “Alright I think I took everything out, I will use antiseptic alcohol so it’s going to sting like never before.”
“Before you do it can I hug you if you don’t mind? I hate feeling pain and with something around me it will be more bearable”
The older wolf felt his heart beat faster than before but he wouldn’t refuse a request from someone who was in pain. He started to think about it while staring at the other male.
“Sorry it was a lame request forget i…”
“No, it is not that. It’s just that I have a history with fennec foxes before and you reminded me about it, but it has nothing to do with it right now. I can do it for you”
“Thanks” the male fox said.
The wolf positioned himself, so he had an arm around the fox’s waist and the fox had both arms around the wolf’s neck, he put his head next to the other canine.
He felt the smaller male waist and it was fluffier and slimmer than his own body. He was probably 10 centimeters smaller than him (0.3 feet), he could smell the fox’s scent next to him on his nape.
“Are you going to do it now or what?” the fox said with his head behind the other male while wrapping him with his arms.
“Sorry I am going to it now.” He felt the fox hug him tightly. “Can you raise your foot for me?”
The other male did, and the wolf started to pour the alcohol on it “OUCH OUCH OUCH” he was yelling. Once he poured the liquid the wolf hugged the fox with both of his arms.
“It’s okay, it’s okay it is already over.” He hugged him tightly.
The fox started to sob a little. The wolf waited there until he calmed down. Once the fox did, he backed his head away from the wolf and stared at him with his arm still draped around the other male’s neck. The wolf took one of his paws and wiped the fox’s eyes that were with some of his tears.
“Thank you for this” the fox said.
“Don’t worry it was my pleasure.” The canine responded.
They both stared at each other and before they realized, they kissed.
Both canines were joining lips and before they could think rationally, they started to use their tongues to taste each other’s mouth. They stayed like that for a couple of seconds before the fox broke the kiss and backed his face away.
“Sorry, I don’t know why I did that.” He just blushed.
“No, it is my fault. I should have seen this coming”
“What do you mind by that?” the fox questioned him.
“Like I told you before I have a weakness for fennec foxes. Before I started dating with my now wife, I used to find fennec foxes attractive doesn’t matter if they are male or female. You can say I have a weakness for fennec foxes, or a kink if you want to say like it is. I can see why my son was bewitched by yours at first sight, maybe it is something in my blood that I share with him.”
“I have never kissed another male before. I was against my own son at first when he confessed to me but later, I accepted him and supported him. Now I am here kissing his boyfriend’s dad. Unbelievable” the fox said.
“Let me wrap your wound and that would be it…”

“Do you think my dad is going to be fine?” the little fennec asked his boyfriend.
“I think he will. My father has never lied to me before and he said he was fine, I trust him” Sebastian tried to calm the fox.
He looked down a little after what happened. His tail and ears were down and didn’t look like the fox who was always happy. Sebastian wanted to do something to cheer him up.
“So, when do you want to marry?” he said to the fox
Immediately his ears were up, and his tail was wagging again. “Do you mean it? For real?”
“I do. We don’t know what could happen in the future but if you want me to marry you, I will.”
The fox hugged the wolf tightly and was happy like a clam “You cannot back down after this” the little fox said.
“I won’t” he replied.
The wolf took his paw and started to walk. They spent the time there, walking around and talking about future plans that they wanted to make a reality. But in the wolf’s mind he wasn’t sure about his future, he loved the fox but talking about marriage right now was far-fetched, he only did it to cheer up the fox and he succeeded in the process, so he decided that it was okay even though it was a white lie.
After they spent an hour outside, they went back to their house and found the fox, the wolf and his wife there.
“How did it go Sebas?” his father asked.
“It was good, we went for a walk and had fun.”
“That is good”
“How are you dad? Does It hurt?” Ethan asked his father.
“No, it doesn’t hurt, it is just a light cut, nothing to be worried about.”
“Alright I will drop him off because he cannot drive with his foot like that.” The older wolf said.
“It is time to go Ethan” the fox said.
“Dad can I be there when you drop Ethan and his dad? I don’t want to say goodbye to him yet.”
Sebastian’s father could never say no to his son when he asked him something and he wasn’t going to start now.
“Yeah, no problem you can come”
“I will follow you on the car so we will back together” his wife said.
“Yeah, thank you, alright let’s go.”
The older wolf helped the fox to walk using him as a crutch. When they arrived at the fox’s car, he opened the door and put the fox on the passenger seat while the cubs got on the back seat. He got into the driver's seat and saw that his son was holding the fox’s paw but didn’t say anything, after all he drove to the fox’s house.
He could see from the rear mirror that Ethan was laying his head on Sebastian’s shoulder. “So, son, what was Ethan saying before the little accident happened?”
“Oh, I said I will marry him” Sebastian answered.
“Oh, I see” his father thought that he had heard wrong but started to repeat the words in his head.
“I am sorry I think I didn’t hear you well, but did you say you are going to marry Ethan or am I going crazy” his father asked.
Ethan butted in and said “I will marry Sebastian; we already decided it”
Everyone in the car were quiet and nobody said a single word for a while until Ethan’s father broke the ice “That is good congrats”
The older wolf just stared at the fox, but he winked his eye, and he understood what he meant.
“Yeah congrats.” Michael said while shaking his head.
Sebastian didn’t think it would be that easy, but he didn’t say anything now they agreed to it.
Once they reached the fox’s house, he helped the other adult to walk towards the door and explained to the fox’s wife what happened, she understood and helped to carry him inside the house.
“Alright it is time to go Sebastian say goodbye to your boyfriend.” His father said.
They both stared and took each other’s paws.
“Goodbye Ethan see you tomorrow.”
“Goodbye wolfy have good dreams”
They kissed each other and hugged before parting ways. The wolves went to the car and Michel drove away with his son and wife in it. Once they reached the house Sebastian’s mom said to him “Wash yourself, dinner will be ready when you finish.”
The cub just nodded and went upstairs.
They both went to the kitchen and the male wolf started to help his wife to prepare the dinner.
“That’s weird you almost never help me to prepare dinner.”
“I just wanted to and there is something I need to talk to you.” He didn’t want to hide the truth from her.
“Does it have something to do with that fennec fox?” She asked while still preparing the food.
“Yes. I kissed him this afternoon.” He said.
The woman just stayed there and kept preparing the food.
“Aren’t you going to say anything?”
“Do you want me to say something?”
“I don’t know I thought you would be angry or something.”
“Do you think I don’t know you? I have spent almost half of my life already with you. I know you have a kink for fennec foxes and when I saw that your son chose that little boy, I knew that this was bound to happen. I swear you have something in your DNA that you passed to child. I can’t believe that it happened again with you and now with your son. That is unbelievable”
The older male was so embarrassed about the words from her wife, but she was right, he couldn’t say anything or refused it, so he just stayed there in silence.
“Hey, look at me” His wife said.
The wolf looked at her “I love you, I love our son, and I love our life. I would never leave you for something like that, you know I will always be here for you”
The wolf just stayed there in silence before he found the courage to ask. “If hypothetically and only IF he wants to try something out, would you be okay with me trying it out as well?” He felt like he was testing her to see where she would draw the line.
She stopped what she was doing and stared at him intently. “First, you both must be okay with it. Second, you both tell us, me and his wife. Third, it will never be behind our backs and fourth, our son and the little fox must know as well and approve it, you are their parents after all.”
The wolf just waited there he couldn’t believe she had approved for him to be with another male. He just kissed her there and carried her above the kitchen table, she sat on it.
“What are you doing our son is upstairs” The female Siberian Husky said.
“He started to have long showers now that he is with the little fox. It will probably be ten minutes before he comes down”
“Are you serious, right here?” the female said
“You don’t want it?”
“…...Okay but be fast”
“I will”
Once Sebastian finished washing up, he got out of the bathroom and heard something creaking, but he didn’t mind it, he thought that it was probably his parents making dinner. He finished changing clothes and once everything was ready, he texted Ethan saying “Thank you for coming today, I had a lot of fun. Sorry for what happened to your dad, hopefully next time we can spend more time together.” He sent it and went downstairs. Once he went to the kitchen, he found his parents panting and sweating a little bit.
“What happened to you guys, did you go for a run or what?” He asked his parents.
Both adults stared at each other and laughed “Yeah son something like that” His father said.
They sat down and started to eat dinner, Sebastian’s phone sounded when the fennec fox had replied to him, he started reading the message. “Yeah, that sucks, next time let’s have a sleepover. I would prefer your house, mine is a little chaotic with my siblings around. I had fun see you tomorrow wolfy :P” He smiled upon reading that
“I suppose it was from Ethan by the look on your face” His father said to the young wolf.
“What face are you talking about?” he didn’t understand.
“Oh cmon, haven’t you noticed when you are next to that little fox you are shinning like the sun in the afternoon. You cannot stop smiling next to him.” His father said.
“I… Don’t…. do….” He stared down and was blushing.
“Honey don’t worry about it, it is good you like him that much, just be yourself around that boy and everything will be fine.” The female said.
They started eating before the wolf said “Sebas there is something I want talk about.”
“What is it?”
“Would you be okay if I start seeing Ethan’s dad?”
His wife just stared at his husband with a look of incredulity, but she had already accepted it so she let it go.
“Yes, you can see him, you already saw him today I don’t know why you ask.” The cub didn’t understand the question his father had asked.
“Yeah… but I mean more privately.”
“Sure? You can see him in private, I don’t know why you must ask me that.
His father watched his wife before looking at the cub again and say, “I mean like you are with Ethan, like I am with your mother”
The cub was out of words “Wait, are you saying kissing and holding hands?” the cub asked.
“Yeah, that and a little more….” He didn’t want to spill all the beans in front of his own son.
He looked at his mother to see her reaction. “I already talked with him and that is why he is talking to you now, to see if you would be okay with that.”
“Aren’t you and mom together? Is it possible to be with someone else at the same time?”
“It is possible. It’s called open relationships. I still love your mother, and she knows it but sometimes you can be with someone else and still love your partner” The older wolf said.
“Why would you do that?”
“Sometimes you do that because you want to try different things and having an open relationship would allow for that”
“I see. I don’t know about it and even understand it less, but I trust you dad like you trusted me when I told you about myself. So, if you want to try, I will accept it.” The younger wolf said.
“Thanks son, I appreciate it and thanks for trusting me”
“No problem”
“Don’t tell anything to Ethan yet, I need to talk to his dad first before he knows it.”
“Okay, I won’t say anything”
They finished eating dinner and Sebastian went to brush his teeth and get ready to go to bed.
He just stayed in his bed laying down and thinking about what his father had said. Would it be possible to be in a relationship with someone while being with someone else? If he asked Ethan about being with tammy and him at the same time, would he accept that?
There were too many questions for the young mind to resolve on his own, so he decided to go to sleep and worry about that later.
