While he was bored one summer day, Toothless got the chance to hang out in a pool! Swimming around, seeing how many laps he can do on one breath, or just laying on the bottom and bubbling like this, he had a pretty good time.

Loosely based on a dream I had last night.

squirtlerocks07 and I did an RP based on this.

S: on a hot summer afternoon, I was sweating up a storm, I needed a cool refreshing dip in the water to cool off my body, so I head to the nearest pool I can find, goggles on my forehead and getting ready to jump in

L: Looking down into the deep end, you can see a dark shape of some kind on the bottom. You can't quite make out who or what it is, but rings of bubbles rise from it every couple seconds, so it's clearly someone down there.

S: "Huh? Hmm, I wonder who's down there... I can't tell who it is... maybe I should find out"
I put my goggles on then take a deep breath before diving into the deep end of the pool, swimming down to the bottom

L: Once you're underwater, you can easily see who it is. There's a night fury laying on their back on the bottom, blowing those bubble rings! He seems to be doing fine on breath, just happily bubbling away.

S: "Whblat thble?!?!" my eyes go wide as I see the night fury, and there's only one night fury that I know of...Toothless! I almost couldn't believe this, so I swim down and get their attention

L: Sure enough, it's definitely Toothless! He smiles as he sees you, giving you a wave before blowing out another bubble ring.

S: I happily wave back at him and give him a big hug, I was a huge fan of toothless and I honestly couldn't believe he was right here! I gesture to the surface, wanting to talk to him up there

L: After hugging you back, Toothless nods, turning over to jump off the bottom and swim back up to the surface.

S: I swim back up to the surface myself and once we both get there I exhale slowly

"Omg! It's actually the real toothless!!!"

L: Toothless just exhales as well. "Yep, it's me! I guess you're a pretty big fan of me, huh?"

S: "Are you kidding?? I'm a huge fan! My friend is not gonna believe this! One second!"
I get out my phone and start to FaceTime you
"Please pick up! Please pick up!"

L: I answer a few seconds later. "Hey dude, what's up? Oh, looks like you're at a pool right now, nice."

S: "Yeah, and guess who I found at the bottom of the pool, your not gonna believe this!"
I turn the phone's camera to face toothless so you can see

L: Toothless smiles, waving at the camera.

Me: "E-EXCUSE ME!? You got to meet Toothless out there!? Gah, I'm SO jealous!"

S: "Hehehe!!! I knew you would like that! And if you don't believe me, why don't you come on down to the pool and see for yourself!"

L: Me: "Oh, you're in that close by one? Alright, I'll be right there!" Without even waiting for a response, I hang up, presumably getting on my way.

Toothless: "Man, sounds like he likes me even more than you do!"

S: "Yeah! Dan is a super big fan of you! His dream was to always meet up with you, so I guess it's finally happening! Honestly it feels kind of surreal being with you right now"

L: Toothless: "It's still a little strange to me too, just how globally popular the movies I'm in have gotten me. I don't mind it, of course, but it's a lot more than I expected."

S: "Why wouldn't you be popular? Your cute and so adorable! I think everyone should like you!"

L: "Well, thanks! I'm really glad it's all worked out this way!"

S: "Me too" I give toothless another big hug, while waiting for you to come over

L: I get there a few minutes later, out of breath as I'd clearly been running. My tail is wagging as I see Toothless. "H-he's really here... C-can't believe it...!"

Toothless laughs. "Just couldn't wait to get here, huh?"

S: I giggle as well, my own tail wagging a bit
"I told you! He really is a big fan of you! Just as big as me!"

L: I sit down on the edge of the pool to catch my breath. "E-ever since I saw you in that first movie... R-really wanted to meet you!"

Toothless: "Well, here I am!"

S: "I wanted to meet you too for a long time, and now we've gotten that wish! Hehe!"

L: Toothless: "So, you two looking to swim with me?"

Me: "Of course! That'd be awesome!"

S: "Totally! I love to swim with you! I already feel so at ease with you here, I'm normally pretty scared of submerging"

L: Toothless: "Heh, glad I'm already helping you out!"

I quickly get some swimwear on and join you and Toothless in the pool. "It usually takes kind of a lot to get him in water, so this is great!"

S: "It sure is, I feel so safe around you toothless, hehe"

L: Toothless: "Okay, how about we start getting ready for our dive?" He and I start breathing deeply.

S: "Good idea" I start deeply breathing as well, trying to keep myself relaxed as always

L: After a while, Toothless and I both dive under, starting to head toward the bottom.

S: I take a breath myself and dive under too, mostly without hesitation

L: I smile up at you as I see that you didn't need convincing this time, and motion for you to come down to the bottom with me and Toothless.

S: I nod and smile as I swim down towards the bottom with you and toothless

L: Toothless sits down on the bottom, and I swim over to sit next to him, giving him a hug.

S: I sit down on the other side of toothless and give him a hug too

L: Hugging us both with his wings, Toothless smiles and blows some bubbles before closing his eyes to relax.

S: I let some bubbles loose too and close my own eyes to relax

L: I close my eyes as well, fully calm aside from the excitement of getting to hang out with Toothless.

S: my heart was racing a bit since I'm meeting toothless and hanging with him, so it let's loose a lot of bubbles from me

L: While we do hear all your bubbling, Toothless and I figure it's just from you wanting to blow bubbles, and Toothless joins in.

S: that wasn't why I was doing that, and soon my face turns red, I was that excited to meet toothless that it was wasting my air, and I didn't even realize

L: I soon start blushing a bit, just not as much as you are. Toothless checks on you, noticing your face is red, and he gestures toward the surface to ask if you want air.

S: while it would be nice to get some air, I didn't want to right now, so I shake my head no, I was fine where I was

L: Toothless nods, and goes back to blowing bubbles. Seeing that you and him are doing that, I decide to join in, despite needing air a little myself.

S: I blow a few bubbles myself, smiling at toothless as I do

L: After a while longer, I stop blowing bubbles as my need to breathe gets a bit uncomfortable... But, for now, I stay where I'm at. Toothless just continues, only now starting to blush at all.

S: I start to get uncomfortable myself, my face fully red as i stop blowing bubbles too, grunting in strain

L: Toothless stops bubbling as well, now just looking back and forth between us to make sure we're doing okay. I give him a thumbs up, fine with staying a bit longer.

S: however, I was starting to feel like I should go up and breathe, but I didn't wanna leave unless we all surfaced together so I didn't know what to do

L: Not getting that, and thinking you just want to stay down longer, Toothless and I just stay where we're at, despite gradually getting a little less comfortable ourselves.

S: that's when I was eventually start to whine as my lungs burn uncomfortablely

L: I'm beginning to struggle at that point too, and while Toothless is still doing okay, he recognizes that we're not having much fun any more. He gestures for the surface again and starts to swim up this time, and I follow him.

S: I quickly follow him close behind as well, and together we all surface and gasp for breath

L: Toothless: "You've both got fairly decent breath holds!"

Me: "Thanks, I've had a lot of practice."

S: "I've only just started this whole thing like a month or two ago, but I'm getting up there"

L: Toothless: "Well, even for that little time, you're already doing well. So, any ideas on what to do next?"

Me: "Hm... What do you think, Emilio?"

S: "Not sure, I just came down here to cool off because of this hot day"

L: I think for a moment, knowing I want to see Toothless push his breath holding limit but not knowing how to say that without sounding weird... "...Maybe we could have a breath holding contest?"

Toothless: "That might be fun! Although, I get the feeling I'd be the one winning that..."

S: "Ugh, breath holding contests? I don't know... I'm not usually all into those..."

L: Me: "Right, I keep forgetting you're not a fan of pushing yourself like I am..."

Toothless: "I mean, I wouldn't mind you just watching, but you probably wouldn't have much fun like that."

S: "Ugh, here we go again...it's just like every other time something like this happens and I always end up freaking out about it"

L: Me: "Hey, we don't have to do a breath holding contest, we can just do something else."

Toothless: "Yeah, I'm sure we can think of something."

S: "But we don't have anything else to do... that's the only thing we could do..."

L: Me: "Then I guess we'll be needing to convince you again... Come on, you can't give up a chance to have fun with Toothless!"

Toothless: "Yeah, we don't know when we'll meet up again!"

S: I sigh heavily
"I suppose your right, but you know I don't like to push myself... it's hard for me"

L: Toothless: "I'm sure it'll be worth it once you finally get the confidence to do this!"

Me: "We can even stay in the shallow end if you want, I don't really mind."

S: "No, I was fine at the deep end... I'm just gonna have to try and convince myself to try this somehow"

L: Me: "Well, you'll have both of us for it for pretty much the whole time, I'm sure we'll be able to keep you calm."

Toothless: "Yep, it seemed like we were dong a good job of that earlier!"

S: "Actually I wasn't really calm eariler, my heart was beating excitingly because I was hanging out with you, which might have used up a lot of my air..."

L: Toothless: "That explains why you were losing so much air that first time..."

Me: "There really isn't much we can do about that, other than hope the excitement's worn off enough."

S: "Yeah, I just gotta chillax about it now... I was just so happy during that moment that I wasn't paying attention to my air supply"

L: Me: "Well, now that it's been a while since we met up with Toothless, I for one feel like I could go for pretty much my usual amount of time."

Toothless: "Yeah, might be easier at this point."

S: "I guess that's true, I have been with him for a while, I might have calmed down now"

L: Toothless: "We won't really know until we try, so... We may as well give it a shot, see if it works out."

Me: "I think we might be good to go at this point, but we'll see."

S: "Yeah, I guess we could give it a try, and actually do this contest..."

L: Toothless: "Alright, let's get ready and try." He and I start deeply breathing again.

S: I start to do some deep breathing myself, still trying to relax and calm down

L: After a while, Toothless and I are ready.

Me: "Okay, we should all go down at once. 3, 2, 1!" He and I both dive.

S: after a little bit of hesitation, I dive under as well after holding my breath

L: We all head back down to the bottom, where Toothless and I sit down and focus on using as little energy as possible.

S: I sit down next to toothless and try to save energy myself, it's a bit hard as my heart was racing again

L: While I'm having a little trouble with that too, I'm doing my best as I watch Toothless.

The night fury is sitting still with his eyes closed, fully relaxed for the moment.

S: I watch toothless as well, seeing how relaxed he is, a bit jealous on how well he's doing at that

L: After a few seconds of watching, I close my eyes too and try to relax as much as I can.

S: after letting a few bubbles loose I close my own eyes and try to relax as well

L: A fair bit of time passes as we all wait at the bottom of the pool, and I hold my nose so I don't lose any bubbles for now...

S: I held my own nose shut as well so I don't lose any bubbles too, my heart starting to relax finally

L: So far, I don't have a blush at all yet, and neither does Toothless, our puffed cheeks being the only real sign of needing air.

S: there's no blush on my face either which was surprising, my puffed cheeks the only sign of needing to breathe, but I was slowly getting nervous so I hugged toothless to relax myself again

L: While he's briefly surprised at the hug, Toothless accepts it, and drapes a wing over you like before.

As I look over to check on him and you, I see that happening, and shift over a little to get a hug from him as well.

S: now being closer to toothless, I felt better as I kept calmly holding my breath

L: Toothless smiles at both of us, before closing his eyes again.

Another couple minutes pass...

S: finally I begin to blush a bit from my need to breathe, I whimper slightly as I felt a slight burn in my lungs

L: Even Toothless is starting to blush just a little at this point, as am I. We're both taking it better than you are, at least for now.

I look over at you as I hear your whimper, making sure you're still okay.

S: there's a hint of a nervous expression on my face as I whimper out some bubbles

L: I reach over to give you a pat, hoping to calm you down a bit so you can still find this fun.

S: I smile a bit at your pat, feeling just slightly better, sighing out a few bubbles

L: Soon enough, Toothless and I are starting to audibly struggle a little as well, bubbling just a little bit.

S: as time passes on, you could hear a grunt of strain coming from me as I let a burst of bubbles loose before I cover my mouth

L: Seeing you doing that reminds me I should probably cover my own mouth, which I do. Toothless does as well, though it's a little awkward for him to reach his mouth.

S: I look over and see toothless awkwardly cover his mouth, which made me giggle a bit

L: He smiles a little at your laugh, before grunting and leaning down a bit to try to do a better job of covering his mouth.

S: I get back to relaxing myself, my face flushing fully red

L: Toothless and I both have red faces too, but are clearly still determined to stay down despite our chests starting to heave.

S: my own chest starts heaving too, I look up at the surface, wondering if I should just go up, but remembering the contest, I chose to stay down

L: Even though I don't usually push myself this much either, I stay where I'm at, watching Toothless' struggles in the hope that I'll manage to beat him.

S: I watch toothless struggle too, determined to beat him as well

L: After a bit longer, Toothless and I start getting blue faces, but neither of us are going anywhere. He and I start to whine a bit, shivering a little bit from how badly we need to breathe, but we're still staying on the bottom.

S: my own face starts turning a bit blue too, whining a bit loudly as I look up desperately at the surface, really wanting to breathe

L: As determined as I am to beat Toothless, I'm beginning to consider giving up at this point...

Toothless accidentally lets out a burst of bubbles as he fights to hold his breath, tightly shutting his eyes.

S: I was kept fighting to hold my breath too, not giving up just yet

L: After losing even more bubbles, Toothless' face starts going purple... And he jumps off the bottom to swim for the surface! I almost don't even notice, distracted by my own struggle, but I smile in accomplishment.

S: my face was fully blue, not even purple yet as I was shocked at managing to survive this long, grinning and wagging my tail before letting out a big grunt in strain

L: While Toothless catches his breath at the surface, I look over at you, wondering which one of us is going to be surfacing first...

S: wanting to beat you too I growl out bubbles in determination and stay down at the bottom, even with a slightly purple face

L: As I start getting worried about potentially going too far, with my face going purple, I jump off the bottom and bolt upward, leaving you the winner!

S: a big happy smile is on my face as you finally surface, once you were safely on the surface I begin to swim up as well, gasping for breath heavily
"Whoa...i-i-i won?! How did I win that?!?!"

L: Toothless: "Man, I really didn't expect one of you guys to win!"

Me: "G-guess you're even better than I thought..." I'm still panting a fair bit.

S: my tail wags very happily as I won the contest
"I wasn't expecting to win this at all! I-i must have really gotten good at breath holding!" I was panting a little myself to catch my breath

L: Me: "You really have, yeah! But I guess wanting to beat us was good motivation, huh?"

Toothless: "That would certainly explain it!"

S: "Yeah! I guess I was really determined to beat you guys that I just had to stay down, I would have surfaced a while ago if it wasn't for either of you, guess you could say I hate losing, haha"

L: Toothless: "Well, congratulations, you've both beaten a dragon at something!"

Me: "I at least still had a pretty good time, even though I only got second."

S: "Yeah, I had a pretty good time too, I'm glad I won...makes me feel better about being submerged"

L: Toothless: "I have to be heading out soon, but we can still hang out for about 20 minutes."

Me: "Ah, alright..."

S: "Awww...I don't want you to go..." I tear up at that, clearly wanting toothless to stay for a while longer

L: Me: "Man, neither do I... But if he has to leave, we really shouldn't try to stop him."

Toothless: "Yeah, I have somewhere to be... Being with you guys has been fun, though!"

S: I was still clearly sad he's leaving, tears streaming down my face as I really didn't want him to go

L: Me: "I know, I don't want him to leave already either..."

Toothless gives you a hug. "I'm sure we'll meet up again at some point..."

S: I hug toothless back, whimpering just a little as I try to calm down
"I'm sorry for crying... I just really wanna see you again...I'm gonna miss you!"

L: Toothless: "It's alright... Hopefully it'll at least be soon that we get the chance to get together again."

Me: "Yeah, I really hope so too..."

S: "Me too..." I keep hugging him for a while longer, slowly feeling better

L: Eventually, Toothless lets go of you. "We can at least still swim together for a little while, right?"

Me: "I'd definitely be up for at least a little more."

S: "Y-yeah! I be up for some more swimming with you for a bit longer!"

L: Toothless: "Alright, cool! Let's just relax together, I imagine you two would prefer just resting your lungs right now."

Me: "Yeah, I don't think I want to do any diving for more than a few seconds."

S: "Yeah same here...just lazily swimming around would be nice"

L: Toothless: "I think so too, yeah." He flips over to float on his back in the water.

S: I simply float in place in the water and just let it drift me around the pool

L: I just lazily swim around nearby for a while, before seeing if Toothless will let me rest on his belly, which he does.

S: seeing you rest on his belly and seeing that looks big enough, I climb up to rest on toothless' belly too

L: There's just barely enough room for both of us there, and thankfully Toothless isn't sinking.

Toothless smiles at us. "Guess I make a good raft, huh?"

Me: "This is better than I thought it would be, yeah!"

S: "Yeah! Your belly is actually really comfortable, I could get used to this! Hehe"

L: Toothless: "Heh, maybe I ought to see if some people back home are fans of this too..."

Me: "There's no way we're the only ones that like this!"

S: "Yeah no way at all, this is really comfortable..." I lay down fully on toothless' belly, sighing with content

L: We all relax together for a while longer... But eventually, it's finally time.

Toothless: "Hate to interrupt this, but... I have to get going now."

I sigh. "Alright..."

S: "Awwww come on!" I was sad again that he has to go this time, but I knew he must leave

L: Toothless: "Sorry, I just can't stay, I have something important I have to get to. But, when we meet up again sometime, we can hang out some more!"

Me: "I'm looking forward to it, whenever it happens!"

S: "I hope it's soon..." I said with a sad look on my face before climbing off toothless' belly

L: I get off as well, and Toothless gets out of the water.

Toothless: "I hope so too! See you guys then!"

Me: "Bye! This was a lot of fun!"

Spreading out his wings, Toothless jumps from the ground and starts to fly off.

S: "Bye toothless..." a single tear streams down my face as I wave goodbye to him
"Aw man...I don't wanna be sad for the rest of the day, I think I'm gonna go see treecko and hopefully he'll cheer me up"
I get out of the pool

L: Me: "Yeah, I'm sure he'd be up for hanging out with you for a while."

S: "Definitely, besides I haven't seen him in a while...I'll be great to see him again"

L: "How about we go see him together? I think it'd be more fun if it was all of us together!"

S: "Hehe, you know what sure! I think that's a great idea! Come on! Let's go!" thankfully treecko's house wasn't too far away, so I happily started to walk to his place with you behind me

L: I follow you, ready to have more fun with you and Treecko.
