Would be kinda fun if it became clear she's not actually trying to kill him, and is just flirting in a weird way (adding spices and such). But also, acknowledging that she is being screwed by the job system/society could be a great way to lead into her (further) realizing that he does care.
Kinda worried that she's gonna (almost) succeed at some point, and realize she regrets it, even though that could be interesting.

Belladonna as a seasoning ... Not something I would recommend. He should just tell her that he's immune to all known poisons and toxins even if it's not true. Just get her to stop trying to poison him
