The Purple Crown has been with its former Bishop far longer than the other four, even being the first when the family discovered them. As such, even after Diana claimed it for her own, it ended up causing an unusual transformation; namely, it caused her to become a fusion of a lamb and a spider. Of the downsides, she has a layer of chitin under her fur, making movement bit more difficult, and having a third eye suddenly open in your forehead, and it is NOT blind like its neighbors, is quiet disorienting when you've spent a long time adjusting to being blind.
But in some ways, the positives outweighed the bad. As just mentioned, that third eye is fully functional, allowing her to see without depending on the Purple Crown to do it for her. The chitin might make movement uncomfortable, but it means her body is even harder to harm, allowing her to be more risky in a fight. The Crown having ties to knowledge allows her to not only read any book, no matter if she knew the language before or not, as well as its understanding of War made her even worse for the hold out loyalists of the Bishops to face in battle. She can naturally produce silk, providing the flock nicer garments.
It's not really a negative nor a positive, but she likes her wool becomes like a bee's fuzz while in this form, and she has a snazzy cape made of spider silk. Of course, the Purple Crown does warp her personality, much like the others, but it's not as dramatic towards the flock. Having her brain filled with all knowledge allows her to offer them deeper insights or solutions to problems... When she doesn't spout it as word soup. Still, it's far better than her being a raving madwoman.
But when she faces those BEYOND her flock, the Purple Crown makes her as much a general as a soldier, both in combat with a blade or verbally with wits. More than once, the Purple Crown has allowed her to meet with Midus, and deceive him into giving the Cult a generous 'donation', only to realize he was tricked days later. Wide are the webs she can weave...
