Reed has been spending a little too much time with Lapis. Vera, always thinking of Lapis' safety, decides to handle things.
Unfortunately, Vera's attack didn't seem to register with Reed the way it was supposed to.
Lapis first met Reed when traveling to his house to hang out with his roommate, Silas. Reed would always bring the two home-cooked snacks while they were playing with each other, and eventually became good friends with Lapis. Reed enjoyed talking to the excitable girl and liked listening to her stories about streaming.
Reed started visiting Lapis at her house where the two would talk and hang out with each other more. Eager to pass on his knowledge and passion for cooking, Reed decided he would teach Lapis how to bake cookies. Lapis agreed, if only because she was curious to learn a new skill, and the two got to work.
What the pair were unaware of was that they were being watched the whole time.
Vera, Lapis' self-appointed guardian, has been spying on Reed since he first started visiting Lapis' home. Being the over-protective person that she is, Vera immediately distrusted Reed and assumed he only had the worst of intentions with Lapis. It didn't help that Reed was roommates with Silas, a person Lapis visited constantly and someone Vera had to punish just as frequently.
Vera had just finished setting up Silas to spend another few days in one of her machines when she came upstairs to find Reed and Lapis preparing cookie dough in the kitchen. Vera immediately entered Spy-Mode and began watching the two in secret. Already agitated from dealing with Silas, Vera was on the brink of taking down this giant before he had the chance to even lay a finger on Lapis.
Just as Reed was telling Lapis not to eat the cookie dough, Vera jumped onto the cat boy's back and latched onto his body.
Vera wrapped an arm around Reed's neck and started to squeeze.
After putting her all into choking the cat boy, Reed finally spoke.
"If you wanted a piggy-back ride, you could've just asked."
Lapis ignored the two adults while indulging her sweet tooth.
