I'm starting to wonder if she could see the future.
Also now that I think about it who's to say that the captain didn't have any children before that. We all know that he was quick and easy to let any Lady lead him to bed.

Yeah, pretty sure Cavanagh's got a gaggle of bastards across a number of ports. That, or he had a sibling back home (his mother probably had other kids), and he decided to be a good uncle.

Bringing him back to life, so to speak, almost seems cruel. What seemed like a fair deal at the time looks like spending an eternity in regret... not exactly hot material for our resident siren kraken, but maybe a twist is yet to come and there is a chance of redemption beyond the grave.

Just thought... what did Nivaria fish out of the water that Cavanagh is now hugging? I know it should be clear to me, since it's obviously not his hat.

Ah yes, I see now. He wore it when he was just a ship's mate and it looks like he first got it when leaping from that pink bunny's balcony for a quick escape! I also wonder if it's the same hat that that old husky has! I feel so dumb now, I'm so sorry, since I enjoy this level of depth but I miss so much.

The fact that Nivaria fished out his old hat and gave it to him shows she has a heart though. I hope he can find peace and redemption in the afterlife, although getting over the loss of his crew due to his lust blinding him to a trap is going to be a hard one.

I find it telling that she was careful to draw everything that he held an attachment to along when performing that revival. It's certainly above and beyond what she needed to do if she was just reviving him for their bargain, unless the idea was to give him concrete proof of her claim.

Boundaries are strange, commitment is sometimes complicated. Cavanagh may have made many enemies, but something in my brain keeps whispering 'if the woman turned him down then he'd probably not actually pursue them.' After all, he was raised in a brothel by women, not by men, and in the context of his era that truly meant seeing the other side of the coin.

I like to think that despite a pirate (at least it seems that way) and a womaniser, he has a very strong code of honour. His vice is women, but he treats them well, respects them and at least tries not to break their hearts.

It's kind of heartwarming and quite sad that the first thought upon revival was not the other captain and crew, his treasures, or his ship but his crew. They meant a lot to him even if he was a womanizer and it really humanizes him.

I don't think I could accept going out like this, I'd try to go all Flying Dutchman on that murderess and the next five generations of her family <.< cursed she be to the deepest levels of hell, for all who murder after breaking bread deserve naught but the fierest pits of despair and death.
