S: in the mystery world where former human beings were suddenly transformed into pokemon, Emilio, a blastoise, was heading out doing rescue missions with his partner as usual, since the last time, the missions are a lot less stressful thanks to talking to the guild about making them easier for Emilio....one particular day however, things were about to be a bit different with a newcomer in town
L: An axew wanders into town, and while they do look a little bit nervous, it's clear that they're pretty interested in the sights of the town, getting a good look at each of the buildings they pass by as they slowly walk through.
S: Emilio happens to notice the Axew, and wanting to greet them, he happily walks over and kneels down to get more eye level with them
"Well hello there little guy...I don't think I've ever seen you here"
L: The axew backs up a bit from being a little intimidated, but does seem grateful that Emilio is kneeling instead of standing over him. "Hi, um... Yeah, I'm from... Really far away. I know this'll sound weird, but where is this?"
S: "Your in the pokemon world buddy, and you said your from far away, well that's interesting cause...I am too... hey terry! Come look at this guy!"
L: Terry, a sceptile, comes over. "Oh hey, it's a cute little axew!" He kneels down as well.
Axew: "Um, blastoise guy, if it's alright for me to ask, where exactly ARE you from?"
S: "W-well if you must know, I was originally from the human world, I was a human before I mysteriously got transformed into a pokemon, I was a squirtle before, now I evolved into a blastoise... so where are you from little axew?"
L: Axew: "Wait, you too!? That's exactly what happened to me! Oh man, I thought I'd never even be able to TALK about it without people thinking I'm weird!"
Terry: "Woah, you're not the only one any more, Emilio!"
S: "Whoa, that is pretty cool! I never knew it was you as well little buddy, oh...yeah I guess we should introduce ourselfs, my name is Emilio, and this is my partner Terry the sceptile, what's your name?"
L: Axew: "That's neat, a friend of mine from the human world is named Emilio... Anyway, I'm Danny."
S: "Wait a second... a friend of yours was named Emilio? And your name is Danny?! I have a friend who's named Danny in the human world!!!! Does that mean...." Emilio was stunned, could this axew actually be his friend from the human world?
L: Terry: "I never even thought I'd meet someone else from there at all, and now you're saying you might know him!?"
Danny: "H-hang on, um... Is your favorite Pokemon squirtle? A-and do you know what your friend's favorite is?"
S: "Y-yes! My favorite pokemon is Squirtle! And my friend's favorite pokemon is Lugia! I-is that your favorite?!"
L: Danny: "It is, yeah! Y-you're really Emilio!" He wags his little tail as he jumps up to give Emilio a hug.
S: emilio's own little tail wags as well as he happily hugs Danny back, holding him close and even tearing up
"Omg...I can't believe it's you bud! This is unbelievable!"
L: Terry: "That's awesome, you've got another friend with you now!"
Danny: "I thought I was never gonna get to meet you, that I'd be the only person that'd be sent here... B-but you're really here!"
S: "I thought the same bud... I was actually starting to think about you and how much I was gonna miss you, but now your here! As a pokemon sure but, your still here! That's what matters!"
L: Danny: "And you actually ended up as your favorite! Well, you probably evolved eventually, but still! I just wish I could've become a lugia..."
Terry: "Yeah, there's really only one of each legendary..."
S: "Mmhm, but that's ok... I may have evolved and I couldn't stay as a squirtle, but im fine with being a blastoise, it's quite cool, anyways... me and my partner Terry were just about to head out to do a rescue mission, see in this world rescue teams are quite popular, so me and Terry formed one together, I sort of regret it a little after we did an underwater mission, but thankfully we talked to Guild and they made things easier for us"
L: Danny: "So it's like the Mystery Dungeon games, then... Hang on, you did an underwater mission? You actually went underwater? That's great!"
Terry: "It really didn't go well for him, he was probably more scared than the Pokemon we were there to help."
S: "Heh, y-yeah... I hated every minute of that underwater mission, and I made it pretty clear that I would never do something like that again..."
L: Danny: "Yeah, I'm not sure I'd be too happy about that either... Then again, maybe axews are good at swimming? I haven't tried yet."
S: "I don't actually know if axews are all that good at swimming, so I guess you should find out at some point, maybe you would like to go on rescue missions with me as well"
but little do all of them know, they might have to go back underwater for something, and Emilio isn't gonna like it, which is strangely gonna include Danny as well
L: Danny: "As much as I might not enjoy it, I should definitely learn how to defend myself in a world like this... I'll come along for at least one."
Terry: "We'll do our best to keep you safe, don't worry."
S: "Actually funny enough, we don't even know what the mission is, we were just told we had a rescue mission to do, but we never got any details, that's where we're going now"
L: Danny: "Alright, that'll be the one then! I wonder where we're going to be headed for it... And I hope they'll be okay with me coming along even though I haven't officially joined."
Terry: "I'm sure they'll be fine with it."
S: "Yeah I definitely don't see a problem there, anyways, come on" Emilio leads Terry and Danny to a place where they get their missions
L: They read out the mission they were given this time: They need to do a rescue from a cave that's been partly flooded.
Danny: "That doesn't sound so bad... Hopefully we won't have to actually swim, I don't like the idea of not being able to swim straight up for air."
Terry: "And let's make sure we don't forget to pack a return orb this time, just in case!"
S: "Oh jeez...I really hope we don't have to swim and be underwater... that'll be horrible... and yes please pack an escape orb! We need that! I don't like the idea of that either, so don't talk about it and it won't happen"
L: Terry: "Right, yeah, that's what they're called. And yeah, don't want a repeat of last time that water was involved..."
Danny: "That must have been that one you mentioned earlier, huh?"
S: "Yep... that was the one, anyways...let's get--"
suddenly, a voice can be heard
??? - "Wait!! I wanna come too!"
one of the newer members of Emilio and Terry's team, an ivysaur, rushes over to the trio
"Could you let me come along too?? I've never been on a mission with you guys yet!"
L: Terry: "Oh, yeah, that'd be fine by me!"
Danny: "Yeah, I don't mind! I guess we've got two new people for this one now, huh?"
S: Emilio - "I suppose so! This is Leo, he's new to our team, and is probably one of the sweetest pokemon I've ever met"
Leo - "Hiiii!!!!"
L: Danny: "Hi, I'm Danny! I'm new to this too, this'll be my first ever mission!"
Terry: "And I'm Terry! Nice to meet you, Leo!"
S: Emilio - "Of course you know I'm Emilio, and Danny here? Is one of my bestest friends" he turns to danny
"I promise to protect you on your first mission buddy, ok?"
Leo - "Nice to meet all of you too! I'm so excited for my first mission! Let's go already!"
L: Danny: "Thanks for that. You definitely have more experience with this kind of thing than I do at this point. Anyway, Emilio, Terry, you guys probably have a better idea of where we need to go, so lead the way."
Terry: "No worries, I know exactly what cave this is referring to."
S: Emilio - "I'm pretty sure I know the way too, so you just follow us"
Leo - "Ok then!"
so the quartet all start making their way to the cave that's partly flooded, hoping none of them need to swim to rescue the folks in trouble, but little do they know, that's probably gonna happen
L: The four of them arrive at the cave soon enough, looking inside.
Danny: "This'll be neat, I've never been in a cave before... I'll make sure to stay in the back of the group for now, don't want to get in the way."
Terry: "The way you were talking earlier, it sounds like you've never fought before, so yeah, just let us handle it for now."
S: Leo - "I haven't done much fighting myself... maybe some small battles here and there"
Emilio - "Right, let us go in front and hopefully this will be quick and painless"
the 4 of then then slowly make their way inside the partly flooded cave, it's not flooded for now, but that will soon change
L: Not too far into the cave, it already dips down into a flooded section...
Danny: "Welp, here we go... Even I'm kinda nervous about this..."
S: "Oh you've gotta be kidding me, already?!!? Whyyy...."
Leo - "Uh oh... I'm not sure I'm gonna like this..."
L: Terry: "Come on, we did this once, we can do it again!"
Danny: "Emilio, you're a water type! If anything, I should be more scared than you!"
S: Emilio - "Uhhh are you kidding me Danny?? I may be a water type, but I fear the water, deeply... it doesn't matter that I'm a water type! I'm still...scared!!! No way, I'm not doing this again!"
Leo - "Yikes... I'm not too fond of the water myself... but I may be able to at least tolerate swimming on the surface"
that is, until they will eventually realize they will need to submerge
L: Danny: "I really don't think we have a choice here, there's no other way to go..."
Terry: "And it goes completely underwater too, we can't just stay on the surface..."
S: "Darn it! Ugh..."
Emilio - "Awww man, this is really gonna suck... I don't wanna do this again... I already promised myself I wouldn't go underwater again!"
L: Danny: "It might not be all that far of a swim, maybe it just goes right back up after this?"
Terry: "I can check real quick, if you guys want."
S: "Yeah...I guess you can do that then..."
Leo - "Let's hope it's not too far"
and again little do they know it's not gonna be that easy, it's gonna be a very lengthy swim underwater to get to where they need to be
L: Terry: "Alright, one sec." He takes a deep breath and dives into the water. A few seconds later, he returns, and shakes his head. "No, it goes pretty far..."
Danny sighs. "Of course it can't be easy..."
S: Emilio - "Are you kidding me?! Aww man... nope! There's no way I'm going underwater again! You can't make me!"
Leo - "Yeeeah, I don't know if I want my first mission being somewhere where I can't breathe normally..."
L: Danny: "You sure you guys aren't going to get in trouble if you don't do this?"
Terry: "We definitely would... We were given this job, we have to do it."
S: Emilio - "Ugh... I mean come on they can't get that mad at us right?"
Leo - "For denying a mission? That's a serious offense here I've heard"
L: Danny: "And someone's stuck in this cave, we can't just leave them! Imagine how terrified they must be!"
Terry: "We only have to go this way once, too, since we remembered to bring one of those orbs this time!"
S: Emilio - "That's true, but this is still gonna suck! Ugh!! I can't! I can't!"
Leo - "Look if it's just this once then maybe it won't be that bad, I'll agree to go..."
L: Danny: "I'm definitely going too. As nervous as I am, I haven't gotten to swim in so long, I can't just pass up a chance to."
Terry: "Well, that's three of us... Come on, Emilio, let's make sure we don't have to split up."
S: "Yeah come on Emilio! All of us are gonna do it! You should too!"
Emilio - "Nuh uh! No way! There's nothing you can say or do that's gonna convince me!" Emilio crosses his arms and looks away from the group
L: Terry: "...I mean, the three of us can probably still do this..."
Danny: "It'd be easier with all of us, but yeah, I think we can..."
S: Leo - "Awww! But I don't wanna leave Emilio behind!"
Emilio - "Ugh... and I don't want to leave Danny behind, I promised I would protect him!"
L: Danny: "Then come with us, Emilio! I'm sure you've been through worse than whatever this'll be!"
Terry: "Yeah, this is still better than that dungeon out in the ocean!"
S: "I suppose your right...Ugh!!! This is so hard... I still don't know!"
Leo whispers to both Terry and Danny
Leo - "Don't you guys know anything that could help? Maybe saying something that'll trigger Emilio enough to want to go? Or something that makes him happy?"
L: Danny whispers back: "I don't really know enough about this world to say, um..." He looks to Emilio. "What if there's treasure in there too? That'd definitely make it worth it, right?"
S: Emilio - "Impossible Danny! There's no treasure here, I can already tell just by looking at this place, don't bother!"
Leo whispers specifically to Terry
Leo - "You've been his companion here long enough, maybe saying your a scaredy cat will be enough to trigger him into going? I know most people don't like that"
L: Terry whispers back: "I was just about to try that, actually." He turns to Emilio. "Alright, well, I guess you're just too much of a scaredy-cat for this one... Come on, guys, let's get ready."
S: Leo - "Yeah! You are definitely a scaredy-cat!"
Emilio - gasps "Excuse me?! I am NOT a scaredy-cat!!! Nobody ever calls me that!"
L: Catching on to what's happening, Danny joins in. "Yeah, who ever heard of a water type being afraid of water? Especially a top evolution!"
Terry: "Hey, if you're not a scaredy-cat, then prove it!"
S: Leo - "Yeah! Prove it! Prove your not scared and that your tough!"
Emilio - "Grrr..."
L: Danny: "Well, if you don't want to, that's fine, we can handle this... But, obviously, we're gonna keep on teasing you for a good while after this mission if you chicken out."
S: Leo - "And trust us, you don't want us to taunt you for that long do ya?"
Emilio - "Ughhh!!!! I swear I'm gonna go complain to that stupid guild again...fine!!! I'll go...just get off my back!"
L: Terry: "There we go! But you better actually dive, you just saying you'll go doesn't mean a whole lot..."
Danny: "Nah, I think he will. We should be good to go now."
S: "I'm just gonna hope I don't chicken out..."
Leo - "You've got this my friend! Now come on let's get it on!"
L: Danny gets into the water with Terry. "So good to be swimming again after so long... Come on, let's get started! Someone's waiting on us!"
S: "Right, come on Emilio!" Leo gets into the water as well, thankfully knowing how to swim
Emilio was hesitant at first, but remembering the words of what his friends said he too gets into the water
Emilio - "Let's get this over with..."
L: Terry: "Remember, take deep breaths to get ready, we don't know how long of a swim this'll be..."
Danny: "Yep, I was already planning on it." He and Terry start deeply breathing.
S: Leo - "Right..."
Emilio - "Y-yeah...I know"
both Leo and Emilio start to take deep breaths as well, with the both of them getting more nervous with each breath they take
L: After a while, Danny and Terry are both ready.
Terry: "Alright, I think it's time to get started... 3, 2, 1..." He and Danny both hold their breath and dive.
S: both Emilio and Leo look at each other briefly, before they too take a last deep breath and dive down as well, however...Emilio was really scared as soon as he went under, bubbling a lot of air out, while Leo was able to keep it in
L: Danny smiles a little as he goes underwater, but that quickly fades as he notices Emilio isn't doing well. He tries to cover their mouth and nose for them, hoping to help keep them from losing more air.
S: Leo frowns as he sees Emilio struggling, he wasn't the best breath holder himself and was letting out quite a bit of air before he manages to cover himself
Emilio looks up desperately at the surface as his face goes fully red already
L: Terry sighs out some bubbles, and gestures for the group to surface again as he heads back up. Danny follows him there.
S: Leo sighs out bubbles too and heads back up, soon Emilio does too as he gasps heavily for air, looking down guiltily
Emilio - "I-i-im sorry... that was not what I wanted...don't be mad at me, i-ill try this again"
L: Terry: "It's okay, I had a feeling this would take more than one try."
Danny: "Yeah, no worries, we'll keep trying until this works."
S: "I promise I'll do this the second try, I don't want this to take long..."
Leo - "Hopefully! That's what we are hoping"
L: Danny: "Well, let's get ready for another try then..." He and Terry start getting ready again.
S: both Emilio and Leo start to get ready again too, and after a while when everyone seems ready, Leo does the countdown
Leo - "Alright, let's try again everyone, 3...2...1!" Leo takes a last breath and dives under again, and while Emilio was hesitant again he too takes a last breath and dives under too, this time trying his hardest to stay calm
L: Danny and Terry both hold their breath and go back under as well. Both of them watch Emilio to make sure whether they'll be okay this time.
S: Leo watches too, concerned for emilio's well being
but knowing he'll get teased if he doesn't do this, Emilio looks a lot more determined this time around, keeping his air in and starting to swim through the flooded cave with Leo following quickly behind him
L: Glad that Emilio's doing better now, Danny and Terry follow along, hoping the tunnel isn't going to be very long at least.
S: Emilio and Leo keep going, with Emilio swimming as fast as he can, wanting to get this over with as a lot of bubbles escape him, the tunnel doesn't seem long it's just deep, having to go down quite a bit to get around to the other side
L: Danny seems nervous about the depth, but he trusts the others to be able to keep him safe. Terry is still calm, occasionally glancing at the others to check on them.
S: Emilio notices that Danny was nervous, and promising he'll protect him, he scoops up Danny and let's him onto his back, telling him he can hold onto it and let him do the swimming
Leo notices this and smiles, eventually they get deep enough to finally go around and back up towards the surface towards an air pocket, emilio and Leo's faces are fully red tho
L: Danny smiles and holds onto Emilio's back, thankfully not feeling much urge to breathe just yet. Terry's starting to worry a little about Emilio and Leo, but with the air pocket not all that far away, he's confident they'll both be fine.
S: eventually, they finally surface in the air pocket with almost no problems at all, it wasn't that bad, and the someone who's trapped is also there as well, emilio and Leo gasps for air
Emilio - "H-hey that was so bad!"
Leo - "No I guess not, thought it was gonna be way worse"
L: Danny: "And I think I can hold my breath longer now that I'm an axew, too!"
The group suddenly hears someone else in there, but can't quite see them yet... "H-hey, hey! Are you the guys that were sent to get me out?"
Terry: "Oh! Yep, you're probably who we're here for!"
S: Emilio - "Yeah! We are the rescue team!"
Leo - "Uh huh!! Where are you?? We can hear you but we can't see you!"
L: At that point, a noibat peeks out from behind a nearby rock. "S-sorry, just had to make sure... Everyone else I've seen in this place has been mean..."
Danny: "Well, you're gonna be alright now, we'll all be out of here in no time!"
S: Leo - "Yep! Your safe with us!"
Emilio - "Terry, you still have that escape orb right?"
L: Terry: "Yep, it should be right here..." He digs around in his bag for the orb... And sighs. "...Before we left, I put it down to do something... And forgot to grab it again..."
Danny: "Ugh... And I really wanted to see what teleporting was like, too..."
S: that makes Emilio furious!
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW?!?!?! Omg!!!!! Ughhh!!!!"
Leo - "Oh that's not good...well, I guess the only way to escape now...is to swim back, greeeeat...thanks alot Terry" Leo rolls his eyes
L: Terry: "Why did I have to get it when I'm not even the one that's afraid of swimming!?"
Noibat: "C-calm down! Focus on getting all of us out of here!"
S: Leo turns to the noibat and frowns
"Umm, this may scare you but, litteraly the only way to escape is to go underwater towards the exit, but we can help you"
Emilio - "I can't believe this! Guess I've got not choice now, I'll deal with Terry later"
L: Noibat: "I-I know... It's just that it's almost too far for me to swim on my own, I was choking when I'd surfaced in here..."
Danny: "Oh man... I'm sure we can get you out a lot faster than you can go on your own, don't worry."
S: Leo - "Hmm, I'm sure Emilio can help, he can swim pretty fast and can get you outta here quickly!"
Emilio - "Yeah yeah, whatever...look I'm just not gonna think about this, just...come on, let's get this over with"
L: Noibat: "Okay... Hopefully it goes well..." He holds onto Emilio's shell.
Terry: "We'll all be fine, it's a pretty simple route back outside." He and Danny start deeply breathing once again, and so does the noibat.
S: Emilio then let's Danny on his back too before deeply breathing too
Leo does as well, and soon everyone holds their breath and goes underwater
L: The noibat does seem nervous about the dive, but Danny puts an arm around them to calm them down, smiling at them.
S: everyone continues through the tunnel, and eventually it didn't take long for all of them to surface again on the other side gasping for air, thankfully no eventful moments this time
Emilio - "Finally...now to go complain to that stupid guild"
Leo - "Your telling me"
L: Noibat: "Thanks so much for helping me! I hope this wasn't too annoying..."
Danny: "Hey, I didn't mind doing it, it was a nice intro to how these missions work."
Terry: "And I'm glad we didn't have to fight at all!"
S: Emilio - "That was kind of nice, alright...complaining time, let's go"
Leo - "Hehe!!!"
and so, the 5 of them walk back out of the cave, thankful that nothing too bad happened, later on, Danny was officially on the rescue team, and the noibat was happy to have been rescued, and Emilio of course complains to the guild again, what a day
