Robert Ferrison (birth name: unknown) was rescued by an Order of Paladins when she was just an infant, and at the time, a He. The Abbey that the Paladins were based out of normally took trainees from the wealthy and elite but Robert was promising enough to make an exception. Years later, he developed dominant, female traits without any explanation besides possibly, the meddling magic of her deceased parents. They continued to train her in the All-Male order, despite being picked on by her peers for her unusual and overdeveloped appearance.
"Robert" was the name the Paladins gave her. "Ferrison" is an amalgam last name for any orphan raised by a church: Ferridor (the God worshipped by the Paladins) + SON/DOTTIR. "Bobbi" is what she chose for herself upon identifying as female, and also when she changed from FerriSON to FerriDOTTIR.
Bobbi was a promising Paladin but an incident where she intervened with the unsanctioned justice of her own peers sent her on the run. Now, an independent Paladin, she worships with in strict service of right and wrong but a much looser code of service, morality and chastity. She is a "ronin" type, not funded by the church and is always just about to run out of money. Being a Paladin, she finds work easily but never charges nearly enough.

Things Bobbi Doesn't Know About Herself Bobbi was intended for a very different fate than life as a rule-stretching Paladin. She knows her "original" parents were evil sorcerers killed by her order of Paladins that raised her, but she doesn't know that she was adopted by those parents too. Bobbi's biological mother, Portia Pridemoon (whom she has never met or knows she has any relation to) has hundreds or even thousands of children thanks to her forfeited eggs being used by the wizard Zarron to make "designer children." Upon learning that herself, Portia set off on a crusade to rescue her children from any ill-intents of their adopted parents and has re-united and checked in with hundreds of them by now. Portia and Bobbi have not yet crossed paths, as the name she was born with only led to a burnt out and abandoned, villain's lair, where the trail went cold.
Naturally then, Bobbi also doesn't know she is a "pureblood" daughter of Portia Pridemoon and her brother, Bjorn Vasiljev. Her adopted, sorcerer parents knew she would develop as intersex at puberty and possibly manifest other interesting traits. The other "purebloods" (children of Portia's eggs and her brother, Bjorn's sperm) all have some amount of psychic ability but so far, Bobbi does not, nor does she know she should.
