It's only annoying when it's done right away several times. For example an artist uploads an image and then an hour later updates it, and then an hour later updates it, and then the next day tweaks something else and updates it. It can get annoying having to clear the submission from my inbox five or six times, especially if it's an image that isn't my cup of tea.
But doing it long after it's been uploaded and only after all of the fixes are made is much better and also helps to really show what a difference all the changes can make versus replacing the original.

I must admit I didn't really like the original version of this picture. Something about it made it feel off, but i couldn't lay my finger on it. I didn't really appreciate the contents of the image until this version came along. It's all in the details like the lighting and the image blur, they make all the difference.
Personally, I love it when artists update their stuff because it shows they're dedicated. Having both images to compare could give other artists pointers on how they could improve. And besides, who wouldn't want to see an enhanced version of some of their favorite artwork?

I really love it when you update older pictures like this. It really showcases what you've learned and maybe a little bit of how you perceive things now vs then. The changes here are too numerous to honestly call it a fix, this is a brand new submission as far as I'm concerned... As is the case with the majority of pictures you revisit.
As for this picture: HOLY HELL THOSE EYES AND THAT SMILE! *Melts*

Those who truly appreciate art and admire your talent, or those that covet your friendship would likely show interest and offer encouragement when reviewing and improving older submissions. I fail to see reason for watchers (who should feel privilaged, in the first place), to complain.
On a more lighthearted note, however, there is a mentionable difference. Your use of color to imply lighting has improved greatly ^.^

Writers go back and rewrite their old stories all the time to make them better and more coherent so I think it's awesome when artists do the same. And you can learn even more when you compare what the DID to what the FIXED. Keep it up Lando. Also it's neat when you do it in stream so we can SEE you working on the "repair" and understand what you're doing to fix it.

Well personally I like seeing fixed/updated versions of pics. The only time I have a problem with fixed/updated versions of pics is when the artist has just posted the pic and updates it like an hour or two later. So I'd really like to see how you update your old pics.
But personally I think it'd be nice to post the undated version along side the old version so everyone can see what the old one looks like compared to the fixed/updated one.

You know, I already feel bad for having three variants of an animation on my gallery that were based on just one image, but the thing is, I don't want anyone to miss out who actually -wants-'em, and some do. And then again, I want them to be stored permanently, in a safe place, and easy to show them around. I asked people the same question and everyone seemed fine with edits. Still I try to keep it limited. Not every variant is online. If I find more though, I will add them. Of course I will. You should, too, if you change things, proudly show your stuff around.

Do whatever makes you happy. The people who want to complain should STFU and be grateful you're sharing your immense talent with us in the first place!

Honestly I say do whatever you feel like doing ...
Although, since you moved his foot out away from the Sushi between his legs you now have a weird looking *at least to me* edge on it that looks like it should have more flesh beneath the skin than is there ... if that makes any kind of sense at all.
Oh and the lighting, but someone already mentioned that

I personally like everything about the newer version except the edges of the cheeks. As far as doing it often, can't go wrong with alternating between a new piece and an edit of an old piece.

Well, I don´t see any errors, only some (fitting) changes. I don´t have a problem with it, so go ahead, for me it´s a chance to see some of your older stuff I didn´t know before. :-)

I think this is the reason I'm watching you. The detail! And no I really think it makes a difference. Serious. Maybe some people just can't appreciate things the right way. But I think it's worth the effort.
