Would you believe I came up with Amethyst du Sciur in response to your journal? I figured why not? I can have my own buxom squirrel girl I can make pin-ups of.
Then I realized I knew diddly about drawing details like midriffs and bosom bounces. I still don't, but at least the internet has allowed me to fake it convincingly. :\

I was trying for 36DDs or similar – large, but still reasonable. Of course, my unfamiliarity with women's breasts period, much less how they bounce or move, left me at a disadvantage when trying to show them as such in this picture.
I also don't like the ginormous breasts with teeny waists often favored by some pin-up artists. It gives me the impression that the artists are overcompensating for a lack of familiarity about female anatomy. Plus, such breasts look grotesque and unattractive to me. As for the teeny waists... snap! :o
Amethyst's basically a normal anthropomorphic gray squirrel, albeit with purple fur due to higher-than-normal levels of whatever that chemical was. The rest of her family is, as far as I know, normally colored. When she was born, she had a slight purplish tinge to her fur which deepened over time, hence why her mother named her "Amethyst". Due to her mother's health-consciousness and interest in alternative medicine, Amethyst is very healthy and appears immune to whatever colors her fur.
I have also drawn her at least once more, something I intended to put up for last Souther. Her crossed legs kept looking wrong, though.

Sounds about right. It doesn't appear to bother her very much at all, fortunately.
If something pops up, I may do some more of Amethyst. After all, she is possibly my answer to other artists' pin-up girls. Maybe. At least she'd be good practice for that terror incognita that is women's torsos.

I wouldn't pressure you to go too far, but I have always believed an artist (or writer) should always challenge themselves to push the envelope as far as they dare go without offending themselves...

I've wondered whether I would make crochet-Amethyst anatomically-correct or not. It would fit with the "action figure" intent of the project, and I figure Fleshlights could pull it off*, but still, my "girlfriend" would be really creepy without the anatomic accuracy as it was. :p
*No, I do not own any sex toys. You ought to know me better than that. :o

She did try to make the most of it, honestly, strutting about a bit and playing it up as if she'd meant to do that. But the guys studiously ignored her, which kind of irked her. The problem wasn't that they were gay or misogynistic – quite the contrary in both regards, actually. It was all the lawsuit-happy student lawyers and wannabe feminists lurking for unwary guys that killed the mood.

Oh, political correctitude rears its head, then. If she wants to strut about and show off how sexy she is, she should be able to do that without having to endure be Mangazed.
