Character Sheet for Jeskett
Character Description
Jeskett of the Efreeti was born within the Plane of Fire, a realm of molten horizons, blazing citadels, and endless heat where emotion burns as fiercely as the landscape itself. At only eighty-two years old, she is still considered young by efreeti standards—old enough to possess confidence and independence, yet far from tempered by true age or wisdom. That youth shows in her intensity. Jeskett feels everything loudly: irritation flares into fury in moments, curiosity consumes her completely, and fascination often overrides caution.

Background/History
Among her own kind, she was often considered troublesome—not because she lacked ability, but because her attention constantly drifted toward the mortal plane. While other efreeti focused on status, dominance, or mastering ancient flames, Jeskett became captivated by stories of mortals. Their fragility confused her. Their short lives fascinated her even more. The idea that creatures so temporary could love so fiercely, create so desperately, and destroy themselves over emotion seemed almost absurd to an immortal being born from elemental fire.
That curiosity eventually became obsession. Jeskett began seeking ways to peer beyond her native realm, collecting fragments of mortal artifacts, listening to summoned spirits, and questioning travelers who crossed between planes. She romanticized the mortal world long before ever setting foot in it, imagining it as chaotic, passionate, and endlessly alive compared to the rigid hierarchies of her homeland.
When she finally crossed over, reality proved both stranger and harsher than she expected. The mortal plane overwhelmed her senses at first. Cool rain felt alien against her heated skin. Wind carried scents she couldn’t immediately identify. Even silence felt different outside the roaring backdrop of eternal flame. Yet rather than recoil, Jeskett became enthralled. She approached the world with open fascination, asking blunt questions, staring too long at ordinary things, and reacting emotionally to experiences most mortals take for granted.
Despite her beauty—striking sapphire-colored eyes, and an unnatural warmth radiating from her presence—Jeskett struggles socially in subtle ways. Efreeti culture values dominance and directness, traits that make her come across as intimidating or confrontational even when she doesn’t intend to be. Her temper is infamous; sparks literally flare from her body when angered, and her voice can rise with explosive force before she realizes it. Still, her emotions cool almost as quickly as they ignite. Beneath the fire is someone genuinely eager to understand the world around her.
Jeskett’s fascination with mortals stems partly from envy. Mortals change rapidly, reinvent themselves, form connections quickly, and throw themselves into life despite knowing it ends. Efreeti, by contrast, endure. Their lives stretch endlessly, and with that longevity often comes stagnation. Jeskett fears becoming trapped in that stillness more than anything. The mortal plane, for all its flaws, feels alive in a way her home never did.
