SD and Derek Dynamo are definitely not a common couple. Grandpa being a man of reason and science obviously was accepting of it while fully aware others would not be. Despite their collective nervousness and fears no other straight human couple would have to face, they are now brave in displaying their affection for each other as both friends and lovers.
