Kingdom Hearts 2.1 Prologue:
The Ghost of Twilight Town

This is a story I'm really excited to present to the world and is something I've been working on the side with for quite some time now.

Kingdom Hearts 2.1 Prologue is a 30 chapter story that completely retells the story of Roxas' time trapped in his Virtual Twilight Town Simulation only from a completely different perspective.

I've always loved the opening prologue of Kingdom Hearts 2 and always wanted to see it explored in more detail. Heavily expanding on the world of Twilight Town, it's residents and Roxas' relationship with his friends; Hayner, Pence and Olette.

Specifically Roxas' relationship with Hayner as it's surprisingly a very unpopular ship that's rarely ever talked about or even considered.

But anyway, this story completely retells the events of Kingdom Hearts 2 but in a brand new way.

The world of Virtual Twilight Town is heavily expanded on with brand new characters introduced into the story.

You'll see a much darker side to Diz's experiment with both Roxas and the town he's trapped in and you really get to see the story from more than just Roxas' own perspective as he's not the sole main character of this story.

Hayner is the central protagonist in Kingdom Hearts 2.1 and you really get to see from his own perspective how the events of the story play out. How both he and his entire town suffer at the hands of Diz and how his relationship with both Roxas and everyone else he's close to is constantly shattered by the harsh events that plague this town.

That is the central focus of the story however as this story isn't just about Roxas being trapped in a virtual simulation but instead is more focused on an overarching mystery that's plaguing the entire town and causing it's residents to panic.

This is a much harsher and darker take on Twilight Town and is a much more mature take on Kingdom Hearts as a whole.

I really hope you enjoy this.

My hope is to bring this to life as a radio play later down the line and possibly even an animated movie if I can make it happen.

We may need to prepare for the worst, Susan.

If people keep leaving town like this we may need to close the entire school down, and I don't think either of us want that to happen.

This time-lapse is important to mention because Hayner's personality will become slightly more cold and distant due to the trauma, yet in the reality of the world he's in, he would of had more time to mentally process it.]

[ I don't want the audience reading or listening to merely think he got over his entire family disappearing in a single day. It's more that he's had time to mentally process it and is merely putting on a brave face for everyone else's sake, who as you'll find as the story progresses, are also now going through their own personal trauma. ]

[Each chapter up until this point typically takes place the following day after said chapter, but this is one of the few chapters in the story where an undisclosed amount of time has passed.]

Thank you all so much for experiencing this story. I really hope you enjoyed it.

I've always been passionate about Kingdom Hearts and this is a story I've always wanted to tell as I felt there was so much untapped potential within Roxas' chapter of Kingdom Hearts 2 that was always glossed over but never really explored.

I really wanted to delve much deeper into the world of Twilight Town and tell a story that is uniquely tailor made for Roxas, but could still canonically tie into the main game without any inconsistencies.

This story is just as much Hayner's as it is Roxas' as I always felt Hayner was a character that deserved a lot more attention than he was ever given.

I wanted to explore the saga of Virtual Twilight Town from the actual eyes of the residents who live there, completely unaware that their world is a simulation and that their lives are dictated as a mere experiment kept away from prying eyes.

New characters were made to really expand upon this world and really tell of the horrors and tragedy of being stuck in a town locked away under quarantine with no hope of escape.

But anyway, I really hope you enjoyed this.

I am deeply passionate about this story and really wanted to share it.

This is a much more mature take on Kingdom Hearts, told through both the perspective of Hayner and Roxas, trying desperately to find each other in a cruel world where neither one of them are technically meant to exist.
