Sister might get a large size soda while they are there. So when the family is 30 miles down the road, they'll have to make another stop so she can use a restroom.
I noticed the fuel gauge smack on empty. If Daddy Fox is in that habit, he's looking at having the fuel pump replaced within the next 10,000 to 15,000 miles. Not only does running the tank to empty eventually clog the filter screen, having some gasoline in the tank acts as a coolant to prevent the pump motor from eventually burning out. It's a good idea to refill once the tank starts to get below the 1/4 mark. If Daddy Fox is lucky, his car might have a small removable panel in the floor under the rear seat to gain access to replacing the fuel pump, like most Toyota models have. That would make it a $250 to $400 repair bill installing an aftermarket pump from a local auto parts store (or higher installing an original equipment manufactured pump [OEM part]). If their car does not have that removable panel, the fuel tank has to be dropped to replace the pump. And with some models, parts of the exhaust system have to be removed out of the way in order to drop the tank. In that scenario, Daddy Fox could be looking at repair bill of around $1,500 or more to have the fuel pump replaced. However, it would be a stroke of good luck if the car was relatively new and still under warranty.

By the way, in 1982 to 1992 Camaros and Firebirds, the rear axle has to be dropped out of the way in order to drop the fuel tank. With the Toyota Tundra V-8, and some Cadillac models, the intake manifold has to be removed to gain access to replacing the starter. The starter is located inside the motor in those vehicles.

Replacing the starter or the oxygen sensors in a Bently Continental with the W-12 is an "engine out" job, which means the engine has to be removed from the car to perform those repairs.
