Icy night act 1 sub act
It was a particular day as normally it would be when it comes down to it. Nathan has gotten respect for most of the pups. But Marshall still is not certain about him and have his feelings when it comes down to it. Chase also is a little bit confused. He's not sure if Nathan is actually cut out for the job or not. And sometimes with his quick nature and quickly to respond to things without really thinking can sometime through the whole team all. Nevertheless Nathan is one of the more reliable members in a group because of his multiple talents that he has. Making him a jack of all trades. He can do almost each position pretty well. With a exception of a few. There are still some things that he don't know how to do.
Also it's clearly that Marshall it's beginning to show jealousy towards him. Because of the attention he is getting from Evesrt. Marshall is not liking it at all. He really treasure her as his own in some sense. And he doesn't like it whenever someone else steals a spotlight since it's very hard to get her attention as it is and now that she is completely ignoring him again is driving him crazy. But still he tries to keep his demeanor trying to act like that everything is okay but clearly he's agitated by the presence of Nathan and how close that he's getting to Everest.
Outside of the Lookout Tower
“I thought I'd find you here. Outside again what's up with you you are certain got the attitude. But then again I can understand things around here it's beginning to get hectic”Rocky said as he approached Marshall. “ They tell you to be happy that you got a new teammate. But I feel like that the new teammate is trying to replace us. He's still a rookie if you may ask me. And he made more mistakes than actually benefits. But somehow you still get all the praise. Even though I'm the one who had to save him half of the time. But he always managed to look heroic. It's like I'm in a far far background. I mean I'm used to being in the background but this is ridiculous”
Marshall said that he flopped down in the grass angrily. Rocky can see that he is very agitated. “I get it the newcomer can be a little bit of a pain. But he's just trying his best to fit in. I'm sure he just wants to impress everyone. Don't worry I'm pretty sure over time it would get less irritating. I think. Speaking of it I really begin to miss a certain someone. I hope that I get a chance to see him again. Who knows I hope that one day never mind.”Rocky lay down beside Marshall.
“You know what he was a great guy he done a good job whenever Rider was sick. Even if it did go kind of backwards. To tell you the truth I was starting to like him. A little bit more than what you think. But then HQ got a big idea to take them away from us and replace him with someone who we well I not very happy about or thrilled. He can't replace what we had. Maybe Rider needs to get sick again so we can have a swap out.”
He said looking at Rocky as the wind is blowing gently in the grass and the grass is moving back and forth the Sun is up in the sky shining down on down as Marshall began to roll over on his back. Rocky looked it. And then he turned his head to the side and you begin to think upon the memories that he had with the previous member. He can remember the times that they had it made him happy his tail begin to wag back and forth as he imagined the belly rubs that he was receiving. And a nice gentle pat on the head. Rocky almost forgotten where he was for a second before he snapped himself back into reality.
“I don't care what no one says I would never forget. He was a very great one. Yes a little wet behind the ears. But he was still someone that I trust. Now the new guy I don't know how much I can trust him. I just hope that none of us make any mistakes around him. He seems so eager but also it could be a trap. I don't trust them as well as I did the previous one. The previous one was more trustworthy. He never did anything to prove otherwise. I really loved him.”Rocky got up and you look down to the ground. And then he thought to himself and then he looked back at marshall “ Did he leave any kind of clue of where he was anything of that nature. Or where he was going maybe that we can write to him and maybe send you know some special pictures.” Marshall looked it up at Rocky after Rocky got finished talking. Marshall beginning smile. “ You still wish that you I took advantage when you had the chance don't you Rocky. Now you got to wait until another chance come along. But I doubt very seriously you're not going to get that lucky not like the one that we had. Maybe I can talk to writer and maybe there's a way that the both of them can be here at the same time then again that might complicate things. It's already a high enough competition as it is.”Marshall roll back over on his side. Rocky slowly approach him. “ I just have one question is it true that you really do like Everst ?” Look directly into Marshall eyes. Marshall gave him a very irritated look. “ Let's not talk about that. My goal is to be the best that I can be. It's not about who I like what I like and anything like that. That's not focus on things that's going to tear the team apart more worse than what it already is. Let's try to focus our job ahead. After all if we get all track who knows what type of Samaritans can go down. It's bad enough we dealing with what we dealing with I don't want to think about love or anything like that right now.”Marshall answer back and it seems a little bit harsh. But Rocky understood. And did not do any more pursuing into question.
Where on that day into the night Everst was walking with Nathan around the lookout tower. As she approached the window she called him over and pointed at the sky as a shooting star came across. Meanwhile Skye watch for distance as she shook her head back and forth. It didn't take long for Chase to appear and Skye looked it back at him. “She just going to forget. As you normally does moving from 1 to another one she treating like nothing has ever happened all the promises she's made has been broken. I knew it as soon as she find someone else she would just jump to the next thing. I understood why he was so hesitant when it come around her. Now I understand exactly.”she said in a very low voice. But it wasn't low enough that Chase could not hear it. “ I don't know what it is but it seems like there is a very strong vibe. I know most of us are still upset about what happened. But like Rider says things must go on. They're alive to say. We have a job to do on a daily basis. Don't have time to think about the past. We all knew eventually Ryder will make his return. We just thought for a second that maybe never mind look I know how it feels. I was starting to grow on to him. And I still miss him. But we must not let anyone know what happened. Or we can cause some dangerous things that happen. It's HQ every figure out that well the incident that happened who knows. Too bad we can't be like that now. Ryder for one thing don't understand that type of stuff. And the newcomer I don't know where his head is. Don't worry I already brief everyone to be on their best behavior.”
Skye turnt and looked at him.” Like you know how she is she always searching for the next best thing I mean after all Jake is not here anymore. So she has to find somebody to lean on. She's not very confident or let you have someone to give her praise. And boy it has a newcomer gave her way too much praise. I mean it's not bad but it can go over her head sometimes. And I think that's what's going on. She doesn't realize what she's doing. And I got it feeling things going to get worse before they get better. I don't know she can be kind of similar to her cousin.”
Chase walked around and looked at them then looked it back at her, “You cannot compare anyone to her. I mean she is as rugged as they can come. She may have some good size but is never shown to many times. You can never compare anyone to her. Look Everest it just going through the motions I know that she knows how they do the right thing they won't do anything foolish.”
Meanwhile Everst has her head gently rested against Nathan lap. As she stared up at him directly into his eyes.” If you have to choose one pup which one would you choose. Who is your favorite do you have a favorite. You seem like a type that would be more interesting and a more stronger and tougher puppy maybe me. I don't know. What do you think how well do you like it here?” Nathan just looked at her not giving any kind of response not yet. He didn't know what to say anyway.
Time went on and it was in the middle of the week and it was getting colder as it normally does around like this time. Nathan was awakened by the bark and yell from Zuma telling him to get his gear and they are hitting out on a rescue mission the others were already doing something else. It's up to them to go out on this mission. Nathan was ready. But he was shocked when he noticed that Zuma gear was similar to Everst he became confused. He knew that was her specialty why in the world was Zuma the equipped with that. And on top of that he wasn't quite sure what was going on. Nevertheless Nathan begin to question Zuma and Zuma gave it straight up answer let him know that Evesrt is in trouble and it stuck at the top of the base of the of the mountain and is up to down to get up there and get her out before the night time fall. Temperatures is going to drop. She could freeze the depth if they don't hurry up. And told him to stop acting so many questions and let's get going.
They arrived in little to no time at the top of the mountain peak Zuma began to look around for any kind of single that was given by the last location of Everest but he wasn't having much of luck since the wind was picking up very strong. Snow was falling very heavily. And he couldn't get a proper single. He was again need to get worried about everything and wondering did he make the right decision. He knew a little bit about snow and rescue he has watch Everst perform this many times and even assisted at some times. Using Everest snowcat. They start to begin to make their way around on the snowy and icy area.
Time has passed and still no sign of her. They realize that it's going to rely on them to split up Zumba told Nathan to make sure to never turn off their beacon so they will be able to track each other as they are out and about looking for Everst.
Meanwhile Everst was listening very carefully seeing if anyone was on her way to find her. Be kept a close ear out. Who's in deep trouble. She knew she should not came out here alone. But she wanted to get some fresh air and get some familiarity. She's still going over the fact that she has lost some of her friends and Jake is still currently on her mind. She listen very carefully and didn't take long before she started to hear footsteps……
