Adam was playing in the Sonic World after Tails visited him in his world a couple Chanukahs ago. They had hung out on other occasions too, but the multiverse is not fully known to him.
Nevertheless both having two tails Adam got the idea to fly with him which came as a surprise. Turns out Adam's prehensile tails aren't just for wielding objects or other acts, but he can also use them as propellers for flight or swimming with similar motions at a different angle.
Don't Sue me Sega! It's just a feature in common and nothing more! But it is true even in the first series I wrote he could fly.
