After a long (very long) time of looking, I finally was able to commission the redesigns for the original pearl dragons drawn for Edarel years ago. This will be the first of a few species designs I hopefully will be able to get overtime, but the pearl dragons were in desperate need of a redesigned look that gave them the intended regal look I wanted them to have. Huge thanks to @refinedSalt for this! Anyway...here is an updated description for them as well. --- Mystical, flashy, and kind-hearted as they come, Pearl dragons are seemingly the most graceful of all the races in Edarel. As a species known to put on two faces to get what they want, they have risen to the top of Edarel just beneath the Emerald dragons and Kethana. These aquatic dragons find solace in their beauty and ability to solve things peacefully. While typically white, Pearl dragons can come in an array of dazzling colors depending on where they grew up, often ranging from soft blue to pale purple, sometimes with an assortment of shiny black trims along their fins. As jewel dragons, these creatures live for around 200 years. Sleek, slender bodies with long, seeking snouts, these underwater dragons are mostly unable to stand on their hind legs due to the natural resistance their own bodies offer. They excel at swimming thanks to their fins and knowledge of the oceans. These quadrupedal dragons are masterful in their water travels, and competent in their land striding. As of now, no other combinations other than dragon/water are known to exist. Traders at heart, and the most financially capable of all species, Pearl dragons are considered to have the most of their kind well-off. In their history, they avoided almost any and all contact with the species that lived on the surface due to the many, many wars and turmoil each continent developed. With their wishes for peace, Pearl dragons attempted desperately to appease and calm the atrocities being committed on land, but their intolerance for engaging with or against a side was too demanding, thus inadvertently they secluded themselves. Seafaring was their strength—and navigating the oceans was something no other species could do, eventually leading to major economic opportunities. After the creation of the boat, navigational routes became much more lucrative, allowing Pearl dragons to make a place for themselves among the most powerful races. Just a step below Emerald dragons and Kethana, Pearl dragons have managed to keep their statuses with their mastery, as well as their ingenious business tactics. Much like the Alklade, Pearl dragons are hardly frowned upon or mistreated, although after years of taking advantage of their businesses, a type of superiority that can be found in young Emerald dragons tended to emerge in these mythical creatures.
