Curses are never really much danger to one as magically-inclined as Xanders. Sure, it's more a matter of seeing them before they sink their claws into you, but even when you've been cursed, removing it is a matter of patience and finesse - depending on the curse in question.
Such facts generally lead one to complacency, and Xanders is of course not exempt from such. She tries to be better when it comes to such things, and when in an important situation or on an important task or so on so forth, she's generally vigilant enough to catch curses before they happen, and able enough to undo them if she fails - by her fault or others.
This would be one such time complacency caught Xanders. 'Harmless' by a certain description, at the very least. Curses are as varied as those that lay them, whether they be sadistic or imaginative. Not to say it is completely harmless, the maws have teeth after all! But the main effect it's having on the poor fensune is, of course, the annoyance. Thin, smooth, well-kept fur now unkempt and unruly. The only upside is that she doesn't actually think she looks too bad with long hair.
She could certainly do without the maws, making her fur even more unruly. Uncooperative, and unlike other aspects of her body, nigh-uncontrollable. Of course, they ARE part of her body, so they're not completely without restraints, but it is another thing for her to focus on. Don't want anyone getting suddenly gobbled up, or nipped, or licked or something. It did make it a tad harder to undo the curse, which was bothersome in particular as every maw was like its own curse. Each having to be undone one at a time before Xanders can undo the whole.
Ultimately, though, despite her annoyance, Xanders can't help but find some amusement in this whole situation. Well played to she who did the prank, Xanders will plan to get you back later.
