Isanya De'Marcele
After her parents perished off-world to a mysterious plague during a research expedition, Isanya stood to inherit the sizable De'Marcele family fortune as the sole heir. The short and long term ramifications of such an event were emotionally devastating, but thankfully, the young vixen was not alone in her time of need. Friends of the family oversaw educational and living arrangements as she grew older, with representatives of the Intergalactic Youth Regulatory Commission (IYRC) ensuring overall compliance with local and intergalactic regulations. Growing up, Isanya was provided a wealth of ready made information, from log-book files and family derived notes, to easy access to the Intergalactic Informational Database System (IIDS). From a young age, she showed a profound interest in genetics and biology as her focus of scholarly pursuits, much to the surprise of familial friends and associates, as well as her teachers and tutors. Graduating rather early at the tender age of 14 from the Marxewell Academy of Advanced Learning, she came off to peers and faculty as nothing short of a prodigy, and remained immersed in her choice studies. This continued for about four years, as Isanya lived within her means and initiated several experiments, as well as developing choice crafts.
In a somewhat questionable manner, Isanya auctioned off the De'Marcele estate upon reaching adulthood, moving to the sprawling metropolis of Avylaris. Avylaris proved to be a hub that drew within it the very best and brightest that the galaxy had to offer, offering with it a diverse and widespread access to resources. Utilizing the ample amount of money she now had access to, Isanya found breakthroughs in advanced technologies, genetic manipulation, and even the occult. A fair number of such breakthroughs have remained low key, but she does market some research on the open market, at times offering rather choice “products” and services. It is well noted that she is a geneticist by trade, and readily engages in genetic design work, as well as gene splicing. While intensely controversial, her clinics offer related services in genetic modification and design, and are closely regulated under the local and intergalactic laws. Her work has been noted as offering the customer as close a match to their desired outcomes as possible, earning her a reputable image in the open market.
Affluent and analytical by nature, there is a strange air about the vulpine. She appears somewhat distant in demeanor, lukewarm in a compassionate sense, and reserved. Outwardly, she's shown herself to be a bit more of a shut in, but those times that she ventures out into the scope of the public eye, she presents herself as rather unique in appearance and in personality. Her exotic sense in fashion is captured in the image of a thick, elaborately decorated, and heavily modified dress covering her form, imbued with choice technologies to support the vulpines need for ready information. Rumors abound that she is capable of certain magics, but it remains to be seen whether or not she will actively engage in open combat utilizing such arts should danger arise. In truth, many a lonely night was spent by the vulpine to her lonesome, poring over texts and information of the old worlds of the “ancients”, as well as those of the so-called off-world cults. Regardless, her shrewd sense of marketing and a show of cunning in the face of more criminal elements imparts an able image to the otherwise eccentric academic. As of late, she's been searching for choice pilots and mercenaries to act as her body guards and retrievers, but for what purpose is not entirely clear. Isanyas plans are her own, and she acts upon them by her own accord.
Here, she casually wanders across her “office”, examining the genetic code of an off-world creature with growing interest. Holographic imagery is conjured by command within the fingertips of her right hand, enabling Isanya to examine her personally crafted database and cycle through her logbook. Around her is the office floor where she spends a fair portion of her idle time. The somewhat garish décor denotes a more playful side to the vixen, and remains somewhat contemporary with the times. Much of the time, however, the lights are dimmed, as is the vixens preference to remain in the veiled reach of shadow. An overhead window offers a wayward glimpse of the progressive urban environment surrounding her, between the neighboring buildings and looming starships floating above the city itself, to the bewildering array of flier transports flying through the localized airspace.
Commentary: This picture took a lot longer than it should have, mostly because I wasn't entirely sure on a background. Initially, I was imagining that she'd be wandering through a public place, but that proved a little more complicated and didn't come out as well as I could have hoped. I eventually settled on an interior of sorts, with a small allusion to the outside world surrounding her. Admittedly, the décor itself looks more like something coming from an eighties film...but oh well! It was the first thing to come to mind, so I'm sticking with it. Nice to get some solid artwork to start off the new year of 2013, especially in having come home from school. Was hard gaining any lasting inspiration, honestly. Played around with the ever popular SAI for this one.
