Skipping ahead a little because I REALLY love how this came out!
Vortex the Hedgehog is the child of Sonic and his former nemesis, Dr. Eggman, who goes by Ivo upon his retirement. Despite his bizarre looks from inheriting the long, furless feet and big belly of the scientist, his parents did well to ensure he has healthy self-esteem. He's not as strong as Ivo or as fast as Sonic, but he admires their abilities so much to the point he competes in track-and-field events whenever possible. He wears adjustable ankle weight bands for training purposes, and currently has progressed to using very heavy materials not found in normal exercise gear.
His fashion choice is rather unusual, preferring open jackets to show his belly and speedos to accentuate his hips. His nipples are also pierced, connected by a gold chain. Personality wise, though, he has learned a lot from Sonic's husband Caliburn, who he calls his 'third dad.' He's gruff but polite, and offers a helping hand to those struggling, but quick to bash anyone with an ego problem.
