When I uploaded this originally, I was frustrated and upset and honestly kinda hated it but it's really grown on me since.
I deleted it in a hasty, regrettable decision but reuploading gives me more chance to talk about it. I'll try not to do this too often as I believe in leaving the meaning behind a piece of art up to the viewer and explaining it deadens the whimsy a bit. Any interpretation you had prior or now is perfectly valid. This was just my intentions with drawing it.
This red monster thing, as also seen here and here is from Eli's imagination. Both a sort-of personification of his trauma and what he wishes he could be. A powerful and monstrous force that looks evil but isn't (though he'll occasionally daydream of siccing it on someone he just doesn't like. He's just a kid after all.), taking the form of a wolf-like being because the only exposure he's had to overwhelming power was from Voight.
He calls it Tower. In tarot, the major arcana Tower symbolizes upheaval and destruction. Sudden, often negative change in life. But it can also bring internal revelation.
Becoming Voight's victim was indeed an upheaval in his life, one he goes on to both fetishize and be disgusted by, much like the imaginary monster itself. It's a guardian, but one that would only ever be needed in times of crisis. He loves it. He hates it. He's happy to have it. He's angry he needs it.
(And out of this context; I get genuinely unnerved by detailed/realistic and fucked up teeth. Yet trying to draw them myself has been both theraputic and kinda fun!)
I'm happy you decided to repost and talk about this. I actually do like when people explain their art sometimes Ive gotten better recently at really just stopping and looking and noticing small details, but most of the meaning is often a mystery to me with more abstract or emotional art Even if I can't see a meaning in a piece, I do still very much enjoy seeing these from you It's been therapeutic for me to write about negative feelings and bad situations in my stories, so I fully understand the whole teeth thing for you There's something almost...freeing? About it Being in control of it, because you're the one who made it It's nice

Eeeeexactly. Yeah the art is unsavory but so are the thoughts that went into it. Getting them onto paper makes them less so! Crazy how few people seem to understand that.

Pure 100% Expressionism art, I love it, Letting out all of the emotions bottled with all the demons of hell in your head and vent them out into art. Well done And I like how this looks, it remains of a psychological thriller Video game art, almost like Clock Tower

No problem, in fact Expressionism art is what got me more into being detailed with my art, so I love your work~
And Really? I don't see it lol, it's just it kinda has that vibe for Clock Tower, the first one and remastered on the PS5, but the art makes me sense of the stalker killer in the game, it's really good
