Some people say that we can only truly know people in two situations: either when we give them power or when they are truly desperate. In these situations, the limiting barriers associated with common social feelings such as politeness and courtesy are thrown out the window in the name of survival.

It has been over two hundred years since the world was consumed by nuclear fire, and humanity, being the persistent species that it is, simply does not give up and tries to rise again from the rubble of the previous civilization. Some people survived the apocalypse by living in vaults that are inside mountains, still having all the advantages of modern life. While many were nefarious experiments, some were just control vaults to ensure that the results were measured properly, and Dainen's ancestors lived in one of these.

After being raised in one of these isolated environments, for various reasons, little Dainen and all the other dwellers had to evacuate the place they had previously inhabited, causing them to find a completely destroyed world that was very different from what they had imagined. In this place, there is no "kindness and courtesy." On the contrary, the vast majority of people are willing to kill you for a simple stimpak or enslave you in exchange for a few caps.

Dainen ended up trusting too much in a "friend" he met outside the Vault and who, after a few nights, first tried to rape him and then, when he realized that it would not work, turned him into a slave by putting a collar full of explosives on his little dog's neck.

Knowing that the young man could not leave him because his head would fly off, the "friend" continues his journey with a disconsolate and sad boy through the wastelands. However, to this person's surprise, Dainen learned the basics of how to handle explosives inside the vault and managed to safely remove the necklace and then used his small and agile paws to steal the thug's pistol.

"	"Turn around slowly, scumbag!"

The dog turns at normal speed and gets shocked, being completely taken by surprise, so the little dog continues.

"	"I want my stuff, right now!" "But a sweet boy like you..." He is interrupted by the sound of a bullet going through his right leg, and the thug lets out a loud scream of pain. "If I have to shoot again, it will be in your head. I already told you, I want my stuff, you traitor!"

The thug, then, without being able to get his weapons, which are all stored in his inventory, just collapses on the floor and continues to scream in pain. The young dog then takes the backpack with his things and puts it on his back; then he takes some weapons and ammunition from the bandit's backpack and carries it a few meters away from him; then he looks down, staring at the bandit, and says:

"	"I really am a good boy; otherwise, you would be dead."
