A concept I've been musing with over the last year but forgot about after my mom got sick. Long story short; Gabriel discovered he has an innate skill for magic, so he asks Adrian to teach him. As he gets better, he learns a spell that temporarily lets him swap sexes, as he wanted to try it out of curiosity.
However, it has an unforeseen side effect: His female form is a personality and identity of her own, as Gabriel's consciousness fades into the background while she's active. The body alters to match the dominant personality; female body for Gabriella, male body for Gabriel. However, Gabriella is sterile and cannot get pregnant at all.
While Gabriella's identity and being was born out of some of Gabriel's suppressed traits, she's very much her own being. Basically, two souls inhabiting the same body.
As for personalities:
Gabriel; sweet, soft-spoken and shy, non-confrontational.
Gabriella: sultry, flirtratious, confident and assertive.
