Minnie scanned over the documents on the location, her finger scrolling the wheel on the mouse on the table in the RV. If what Professor Dustibones said was true, then the old ruins nearby held a secret. Part of a dial that, when all four pieces were put together, it would lead you to a hidden stash of ancient texts and scrolls about civilization and technology. Of course, that was how the rumors went.
And that's where the mice came in. Dustibones had asked the mice - well, he asked Mickey. And Minnie wasn't about to let him go traipsing off alone, so she tagged along. Dustibones had broken his ankle and wouldn't be able to do the expedition. So he sent the mice, along with some gadgets and equipment. Of that equipment was the RV the mice were in.
Inside and out it looked like a bone stock '73 Wilsano Captain. But it had been built from the ground up using all new materials and parts, courtesy of Doc Static and his build-o-bots. The new RV, dubbed the RAT-V, Recreational All Terrain Vehicle, was more like a motorhome for a spy now. Beefed up engine, four wheel drive, built in raft, hot air balloon, winch, gyro balancer, roof mounted solar panels. Built to original specs, it still handled like a land barge, but that was part of its charm.
As the little mouse scrolled through the documents the professor had emailed, her ear twitched at the sound of footsteps coming from the back of the old-ish looking motorhome. She leaned to the side, peeking around the laptop. "Heeey, you're up! Morning!"
Her companion walked down the small hallway over to the sink and counter, yawning. "...Mornin'..."
Minnie snickered at how his tail looked like he'd been bouncing on it. "Sleep on your tail again?"
Mickey turned his head and moved his tail around to see it. "Darn it... Guess I did."
"Come on... I'll straighten it out." She patted the seat next to her and he sat down, laying his tail in her lap as she began to rub it. "Least I won't have to use a curler this time, heh."
"Naw, it's not that bad." He yawned again. "Couldn't sleep?"
"Oh, no, I slept really good. I checked out the scenery last night before turning in, and I woke up about 30 minutes ago."
"An' ya didn't stay in bed?"
She giggled. "I wanted to. But I was curious about the documents the professor sent, and I wanted to get a handle on what's in those ruins. So I just started going over them." She realized then he just woke up and was no doubt hungry. Heck, she hadn't had any herself. She laid his tail in the seat between them. "How's your tail?"
Mickey moved it, noting it was its usual straight and squiggly self. "Feels much better! Thanks!"
"Hee hee! Thanks! Glad I could help. Now... You want some breakfast?"
He yawned once more before nodding with a drowsy smile. "Sure. Should we flip for it?"
Minnie giggled used her finger to motion for him to scoot out so she could get off the seat. "Naw. I'll make it this morning." She walked over to the counter and used the hidden pull out step stool to reach the cabinets above. Getting down, she felt some warm arms wrap around her waist.
"How about some help?"
As sweet as the suggestion was, she knew how this could go. Them letting their pancakes burn while testing the shocks of the RV. It happened before, so she knew from... a lot of experience. "While I'd love for you to help, you just go over the docs the professor sent." She turned her head to kiss his cheek.
"Awright... But if ya need a body pillow, just lemme know." He rubbed his fingers down the center of her back, sending a pleasurable quiver through her. "Heh heh! You know I will~!"

Before the mice could start getting ready, Minnie's cell phone rang. Lips shifting to one side, she tilted her head. "Who could that be?" She walked over and saw it was Clarabelle. "Drat... I better get this." She cast a look at Mickey and he sat on the bed. "Hello? Hi, Clarabelle!" Minnie joined her companion, sitting next to him on the bed. "Doing?" She turned to Mickey with a playful smile. "Oh, just hanging out with my best friend!" She saw his eyes narrow as he gave her a straight faced look, which made her grin. "Busy? Oh, no, no, Mickey and I were just about to head out."
Mickey grinned and nuzzled the side of her little neck, letting his hot breath move across her shoulder. Her heard her softly, "Eep!" from it, and saw her tail twitch out of the corner of his eye.
"H-Hm? Whazzat? Oh, right. No, I haven't watched the movie yet." Minnie felt Mickey's hand move between her shoulder blades as his lips swept across her neck. Hello! She was having a hard time even hearing Clarabelle, as her mind had quickly got caught up in the little gestures her horn ball hubby was doing. Not that she was complaining! She pulled the phone away from her as she looked at her companion and whispered, "Wouldja wait a sec?"
He waited. "One." He nuzzled her again.
She snorted, almost bursting into laughter. She couldn't help it. And judging by what her ears heard as "Blah blah blah", neither had Clarabelle. "Uhh, Clarabelle?" The cow started to wrap up whatever conversation she was having. "Mm, okay. Welp, gotta go! I left something turned on and Mickey and I have some exploring to do! Uh, huh. Alright. Bye!" She pressed the button on her phone. "You almost made me lose it, ya know?" she said to him with a grin.
"Hanging out with yer friend, huh... Did you just friendzone yer husband?"
Minnie burst into laughter, falling back on the bed. "No! I was being honest! You can totally be best friends with who you're married to!"
"Oh, really?" He rested a hand on his thigh.
"Totally! After all, I tell you things I don't tell anyone else. And you know more about me than anyone on this planet does." She giggled. " Like the little birthmark right above my tush. Though my mom knows about that too, you're the only guy to have seen it! And you're the only one that knows about my hair trigger, tee hee! Just to name a few."
"Alright, point takin'. So what was that about leavin' somethin' turned on?"
Minnie giggled and grinned devilishly. "Oh, I was bein' honest about that, too. We are gonna do some exploring, though I didn't say what exactly. And I did leave something turned on..."
"What?"
She wrapped her arms around him. "Me! Hee hee!" And she giggled before kissing him, both falling back onto the bed as hearts flew up into the air.

There was something about the stone golem standing next to the stone walkway. If there had been two, one on either side, the mice wouldn't have thought anything of it. But one lone statue off to its side? Either an interesting choice, or something else... And given the mice' track record with the uncanny, they knew to stay on their toes. And tips of their tails.
"...Somethin' about this thing gives me the creeps..." Minnie rubbed her arm, looking at the stone figure.
"You said it... Like, why do I get the feelin' this thing could come alive and chase us?"
"Because that'd be our luck..." she said with a little smile before the two turned and started walking down the path. Then Minnie heard a sound behind them. Turning her head, her eyes widened. "...Drat..." She tapped his shoulder, making him look at her. "Remember what you said about it coming to life?"
"Yeah?" He turned around to see the golem now standing behind them. "Oh, crud..."
"Run!"
The mice started to run as the eight foot tall golem swung its arm right behind them. They ran down the path, the golem still behind. Due to the mice' quick speed and the golem's long stride, the mice couldn't pull away, but the golem couldn't catch up either. Then the stone monstrosity picked up a stone slab and hurled it at the mice. The slab hit a pillar on the side of the path, causing it to crumble and fall right toward the mice. With a squeak, they stopped and jumped out of the way of the pillar before it fell, both mice falling to the ground out of the way of the from the pillar.
Coughing from the dust, Minnie looked up to see the golem was right in front of her. It pulled its hand back a little and thrust the spear downward. Minnie yelped and moved her head just in time to avoid getting speared, but the tip of the spear had went right into the hood of her hoodie, pinning her to the ground. She pulled at it, but it was stuck. Then she saw the balled fist of the golem raise high in the air. Her eyes widened. "Mickey!"
Just then, a rope lasso wrapped around the wrist of the golem and Mickey jumped in the air, going over the head of the golem as he swung around another pillar with the rope, causing the golem's fist to snag. Mickey skidded to a stop next to Minnie and pulled at the spear. Minnie grabbed it, also trying to help as best she could from her position. The spear came lose and Mickey grabbed Minnie.
"Thanks! You saved me!" she said before hugging him.
"We're not outta the woods yet!"
Minnie pulled back and saw the golem break the rope and pick up the spear again. "*Groan* Doesn't this guy ever give up?"
Then the stone man picked up a piece of stone and hurled it at the mice.
"Watch out!" Minnie pushed Mickey out of the way as the stone whizzed by their heads, the mice falling to the ground. No longer in danger of becoming mouse pancakes, Minnie grabbed Mickey's hand and pulled him up before they started to run again. They slid behind a fallen stone, attempting to hide from the golem.
"Jeez... And here just moments ago I was in a cozy bed getting my brains banged out by you. Now I'm running for my life in a old fort. What a twist!" Minnie had to laugh at the situation. Of course this was their uncanny luck.
"If we can jus' knock it down, we may be able to get to th' exit."
"You got a plan?"
Mickey looked back at the golem searching for them, its spear swinging back and forth. "Eh... I'm makin' one..."
"Alright... Spill."
"Well, we could split and go around it."
"Could work. But it may not." Minnie looked around the stone and saw the golem getting closer.
Mickey then looked at the rope on her back and had an idea. It was a long shot, but it could work. It would buy them some time anyway. And just enough at that. "Gimme that rope."
Minnie pulled the rope from her back and handed it to him. "What's the plan?"
"Remember that trick we used on Pete?" Mickey asked with a grin.
It clicked in her mind just what he was talking about. And she smiled back. "Ha! Sure do! Let's do it!"
The mice stood up from behind the stone slab, each with an end of the rope in their hands. Then they began to run toward the golem. As they did, they zig-zagged side to side, distracting the golem and keeping it from attacking either of them. Reaching the golem, the mice ran around on either side of it then circled around it, tying its legs together. The golem swayed and stumbled, falling to the stony ground. As it did, it tossed up its spear which twirled in the air, and came back down toward the mice, right at Minnie.
"Look out!" Minnie shrieked in surprise and pushed Mickey out of the way as she fell back with her legs apart, the spear sticking into the stone right between her thighs. She froze for a moment before exhaling and the upper part of her torso falling back onto the ground. "Whew!"
"Thanks fer savin' me this time," Mickey said, standing on his knees next to her.
"Heh... No prob. After all, we've got each other's back, right?" she said with a smile, also relieved neither of them became a pin cushion. She sat up and looked down at the spear between her thighs. "Heh. Good thing that didn't get me. Only 'spear' I wanna be poked by is yours."
"Maybe I should be a little jealous it got so close, heh heh."
She giggled. "Pft! No way! You got way farther this morning than it did!" After sharing a laugh, he offered her his hand and she happily took it.
"Well, we got the piece of the stone. Three more t' go."
"Guess we better get moving then."
Mickey looked at Minnie. She was smiling her regular quirky smile. "Really? After all that ya still wanna continue?"
She giggled. "Why wouldn't I? After all, this is fun! We're having some adventure, journeying together, and I get to keep an eye on you. And you get to keep an eye on me. Why would I back down?"
He gave a little laugh and shook his head. "Yer really somethin', ya know that?"
"Touche." She leaned close and kissed him. "Now c'mon. Let's get back to the RV."
"Ditto."

Bonus alternate scene ending:
The spear went right into the leg of her jeans, missing her leg altogether but still pinning her to the ground.
Only 'spear' I wanna be poked/penetrated by is yours."
"Maybe I should be a little jealous it got so close, heh heh."
She giggled. "Pft! No way! You got way farther this morning than it did!" After sharing a laugh, she tried to move her leg, but her jeans were caught by the spear. "Crud..."
"Lemme see if I can getcha unstuck." Mickey gripped the spear, along with Minnie, and both tried and tried to pull lose the spear. But it was stuck deep in the stone. "Darn it... That's stuck..."
She tugged at her jeans and felt no give. "And I just had to wear the jeans that are made of super strength. Greeaat... What about the machete?"
Mickey pulled the machete he had from his hip and looked at it, but due to its size, he worried he'd cut her trying to cut the fabric.
She saw his expression and knew why he was hesitating. She smiled softly and pulled out her own machete. "Here... I'll try." She scooted closer and tried, but the length of the machete and the angle of her leg and spear made it hard to cut. "Nuts..." Then it hit her. And her cheeks pinkened. "Welp... I have one other idea..."
"What's that?"
She took off her boots and then unbuttoned her jeans. Mickey's own cheeks turned pink as Minnie slid out of her jeans, leaving herself in her hoodie and underwear. And boots once she put them back on. Now the mice tried to cut loose her jeans. They managed to cut a place in them and get them free, but the fabric was badly frayed and the jeans unraveled all the way up to the crotch seam.
"Oh, now they rip easily... Well, these are useless now..." Minnie looked at the destroyed jeans. Not a big deal. She had more in the RV. But now she wasn't wearing any.
"Here."
Minnie turned to see Mickey undoing his own jeans. "What're you doing?"
"I'm not gonna letcha walk out int' th' snow dressed like that!"
Minnie laughed. It flattered her he would do that for her but she also knew they had wilder romps in the snow than this. Far wilder. "No, you don't. She put a hand on his. "I'm not letting you walk out there like that while I'm warm either. Besides, hee hee! Not like we haven't done this before!"
"Well, I'm not wearing pants if you won't."
"And I'm not taking your pants from you. So how 'bout we compromise?" she suggested with a grin.
He tilted his head, curious about her idea. And he got the answer shortly.
The young couple made the thankfully short trek back tot he RV, both wearing just their hoodies, underwear and boots. Minnie carried her torn pants in one arm while Mickey carried his perfectly fine pants in one arm. The compromise was neither wore pants back to the RV. So they walked briskly back to the RV, laughing and making little jokes about their situation the whole way back. Sure, her light pink panties and his red boxers were as obvious in the white snow as a neon sign at night, but hey. Not like the snow could talk, right?
