Malphesto had ANOTHER annoying time as the Wicked Ones decided to go to the nearby forest to enslave the fairies living there. This time, he had a common, everyday squirrel decide to plague him as a small tree. She didn't just try and cram acorns inside his wooden head, but she also gnawed on his ears, slipped inside his head, and even rotated his eyes to look inside his head instead of out at the forest. Having had enough, he took control of the simple little animal, and had it taken back to the dungeon for experimentation.

Working with the stolen power from Kevtia and some of the fairies' extracted magic, Malphesto created his third Dark Magical Girl, Jade. While Lapis used finesse and Opal had an edge on ranged combat, Malphesto decided to make Jade the first true muscle of his minions. Also, as the whole fiasco in the forest had angered him so much, he decided that Jade's weapon should be the antithesis of her former home.. And so this sweet, unassuming little squirrel ended up granted a magical axe twice the side of her entire body, that she can resize and reshape as she wills. One moment she could swing this massive battle axe at you, then the next she is going at your neck with a hatchet.

During the religious ceremonies Opal hosts during the day to spread their Master's dark gospel, or during the nightly rituals Malphesto himself performs to further cement himself as a God to be, Jade serves as the security. Unable to speak the language of the Light, she acts as a silent, if not mute sentinel for Opal, physically strong enough to show someone the door if they disturb the sermon. Or she sends them into the dungeon for her Master's allies to to with as they see fit. At night, she offers but a single warning before turning violent. Her magic allows her to remain as nimble and swift as her old mundane form was, while still swinging her axe with strength enough to split iron.

That said, she's openly affectionate of her Master and her fellow Dark Magical Girls; for what amounts to 'affection' in the dark, that is.
