Because I'm tweaking Sonic characters' designs, I tried drawing them like the demonstration doodles in the JP manual for Sonic1, so details disappear and you see what features really make you recognize a character (and what features I remembered on characters I hadn't really drawn before).
(as it turned out, nobody recognized Shadow without a frown.)
It's actually a really fun /good thing to do with all characters to see how much you can take away from their designs.

This was seriously a good idea, though, breaking characters down to their recognizable elements. =)

It's fun, taking a new look at all of them! Matches how I've been re-evaluating their character traits, I suppose? (I have been doing that inside out and sideways, feels like)

Btw I hope to be able to finish your picture next weekend. I would have liked to finish it this weekend, but I've been sick-ish, things seem to go extra slow. :p (nothing serious, just kinda zonked out)
