hmm if she's cutting out a sample won't the zombie plauge regrowth make his condition accellerate and worsen?

She's uncertain as of yet, it's a possibility but that's hopefully something the probe would notify her about.

True also cutting out that bit "as it is early on in development" might keep his mind intact and him under his own control even as the desease progresses.
