Tyler, a young kangaskhan, recently overcame his fear of water! He's finally comfortable with swimming on his own, something he's happy to show his proud mom. The two can finally go on dives together!

Description based on a story I made for squirtlerocks07 (Story 1 in micro stories batch 3). The image, though, is actually about 5 years old.

squirtlerocks07 and I did an RP based on this.

S: after a little Kangaskhan named Tyler successfully manages to learn how to swim and dive, the mother Kangaskhan decided to give her son, Tyler, a few more pointers on learning to swim, and how to get better at being submerged, so one day they both find themselves at a private pool where Tyler's mom was gonna help him out, and the fact that his popplio friend's pool party is actually tomorrow and the mother Kangaskhan wants her son to be prepared!

Tyler was feeling pretty nervous about trying this again, as it's been almost a full month since he was last in the ocean water with his mom, so he doesn't have that fresh experience in his head right now

L: Tyler's mom looks over the pool for a moment, before looking down at him. "Are you ready, Tyler? We've got to get you confident enough about swimming for the party tomorrow."

S: Tyler looks up at his mom with visible nervousness in his face
"I-i don't know mom... it's been so long since the last time we did this, I don't know if I'm gonna be able to do it again..."

L: "You did it once, I know you can do it again!" She pats Tyler's head. "It just might take some time for you to get the courage for it..."

S: Tyler looks down at the pool water nervously, unsure himself if he's gonna be able to handle this a 2nd time, but he has to at least try
"O-ok then...if you say so..."

L: The kangaskhan gets into the water and holds out a hand to help Tyler get in. "We'll take it slow, just like before."

S: "O-oh boy..." Tyler was getting scared again like last time, but he pushes past his fear for now and takes his mom's hand as she helped Tyler get in, yelping a bit as he touched the water

L: "It's gonna be okay, just take your time to get used to the water again..." She gives Tyler a hug.

S: Tyler hugs his mom back, trying to calm himself back down and get used to being in the water again, he at least still remembers to keep kicking his legs to stay afloat and he does just that, looking around the pool's surface nervously

"I-its all coming back to me now...a-a little bit"

L: "Good, you're getting there... Let me know when you feel like trying to swim again, okay?"

S: "Ok mom..." it took a little bit for Tyler to feel confident enough but eventually he does succeed for now "I'm ready to try swimming again...I think" deep down, his real problem is going back underwater again, he was terrified...but tries to keep that thought in the back of his head for now

L: "Okay, let's try that just like the first time. Start kicking!" The kangaskhan starts slowly walking back while holding Tyler's hands, just like on the beach a month ago.

S: "Come on Tyler, you can do this!" he tells himself as he starts kicking his little legs as fast as he can while holding his mom's hands, managing to start swimming forward again!

L: "There you go, keep kicking!" She's happy Tyler is already recovering his willingness to be in water so quickly.

S: Tyler continues to kick around the pool for a bit, giggling as he finally starts to swim again, unaware of the next part is gonna be submerging again as he comes to a stop and just kicks in place
"I-i did it! Hahaha!"

L: "Yep, you're already doing great! Now we just have to get you to be okay with going underwater again, as much as that might scare you again..."

S: what his mother just said made Tyler's happy smile fade away, yelping as well
"N-n-no! Not that again! Oh no!"

L: "Where's this coming from? You loved diving last time, what's changed? All that's different is that we're in a pool!"

S: "Yeah, but that was when I read somewhere how dangerous it actaully is to be submerged! I'm not going under after the facts I saw! No way! I don't wanna!" Tyler starts to kick his way back to the edge of the pool, very much afraid to go under now

L: "Oh boy... I understand. But, I promise nothing bad's going to happen to you, I'll be right here with you the whole time."

S: Tyler stopped and slowly kicks his way back to his mom
"I-i don't know...are you sure I'll be ok? I just remembered how scary it is to hold your breath and all, and I really don't know if I can do it mom" Tyler looks up pleadingly at his mother with those big round adorable eyes

L: "You can, I know it! You just have to be brave!" She gives Tyler another hug to help reassure him.

S: Tyler hugs his mom back, trying to calm down...but he really is terrified about going under again...and when popplio has her pool party again, there's apparently gonna be a breath holding contest as well, so he needs to be prepared for that!
"I really don't know mom..."

L: "Just think about how happy your popplio friend will be to see you be okay with diving!"

S: "Yeah...I mean that's true, I know popplio really loves diving and all, and it would sure put a smile on her face to see me dive...but still I don't know"

L: "And remember those dolphins form before, too! You can't really play with them without going underwater!"

S: "Oh right...I did like those dolphins... ugh!!!" Tyler looks down at the water below then back at his mom "....alright fine... I'll try going under then"

L: "That's my boy!" The kangaskhan pats Ty;er's head a couple times. "Like before, just take a deep breath and hold it whenever you're ready."

S: Tyler looks around nervously, it was gonna be really scary to hold his breath again, he procrastinates on this for a while, not sure if he can actually do it again

L: "It's alright, just take your time... We can wait as long as you need to."

S: Tyler starts to whimper, he tries to go under a few times but fails every single time
"Mom I can't do it! I'm too afraid after what I saw! I have no motivation..."

L: "I know you can do this! Just not really sure what else I could do to help you... Do you want to be on my back like before?"

S: "Well, I suppose that could help..." Tyler sighs "...fine fine, I'll try it then... even tho I'm still not all that sure"

Tyler was definitely pretty scared by the look on his face

L: "Alright, here you go." The kangaskhan helps Tyler onto her back. "I think this might've helped a lot last time, maybe it'll work this time too."

S: "Maybe..." Tyler climbs onto his mother's back, feeling a bit better now "I feel better...just a bit tho"

L: "Hopefully that'll make the difference... How about we try again now?"

S: "Fine...I guess we can try then" Tyler sighs, but he knows he has to face his fears again

L: "Just let me know when you feel like it's time..." The kangaskhan is still fine with waiting, swimming in place on the surface.

S: "Okay mom..." after a lot of hesitation, and I mean a lot of hesitation, Tyler finally spoke up "I-i-i think I'm ready now"

L: "Okay, get a deep breath, and we'll try going under again!"

S: "O-oh boy...ok..." Tyler holds on very tightly to his mom, squeezing his eyes shut before taking in a deep breath and holding it, ready as he'll ever be to go underwater

L: The kangaskhan holds her breath as well and dives underwater, bringing Tyler with her and hoping he won't panic.

S: but Tyler did panic, as soon as he opens his eyes he immediately started to get really scared, constant bubbles escaping him as he loudly whimpers

L: As she notices that, the kangaskhan quickly surfaces again. "Are you okay? I'm glad you at least went under..."

S: Tyler gasps for air and coughs a little bit
"Oh man! That was terrifying! I told you it's dangerous to be underwater!"

L: "That was only a couple seconds though, there was hardly any danger at all!"

S: "Yeah, but there would have been danger if I stayed down any longer then that! I'm telling you mom I've completely lost it after what I read... your words of encouragement just aren't hitting me anymore" Tyler is visibly very sad, it's clear he wants to overcome this fear again, but he doesn't know how to approach it

L: "I wish we could just put this off for some other time, but we both want you to be ready for that party tomorrow..." The kangaskhan sighs, trying to think of what to do.

S: "Dang it, I forgot about the party tomorrow... ugh I definitely don't think I'm gonna be ready in time... I'm more likely gonna sit out again... Tyler sighs heavily, even tearing up a bit, wondering how he's gonna be able to convince himself to dive underwater and not freak out this time since there's nothing really cool underwater to distract Tyler's mind...or maybe...there could be something if the Kangaskhan thinks harder about this

L: "Have we hugged underwater before? It might help if we do that while we're down there, if you're up for trying."

S: "Huh? Umm, I don't think we have... since I was on your back the whole time before... I guess we can see if I'll work, but I don't know... when we were in the ocean there was cool stuff to distract my mind from being submerged, here? There's nothing..."

L: "Maybe we could find some stuff around here to toss into the water as well, there has to be something that'd take your mind off being scared..."

S: "I mean it's worth a shot, but what stuff can we find that'll be interesting enough for me to be distracted? Cause I can't think of anything"

L: "No idea, but it wouldn't hurt to have a look around." The kangaskhan gets out of the pool and sets Tyler down, searching around.

S: "I guess..." Tyler looks around as well, hoping to find something interesting to look at while they are down there underwater

L: Even after searching for a while though, the two just don't find anything that seems like it'd help... "...Sorry Tyler, I don't think there's anything that helpful here."

S: "Aww man... oh well, I guess we'll have to try the whole hugging underwater thing, and if that doesn't work then I give up..."

L: "If this doesn't end up working, maybe your friends will be able to help tomorrow... But let's give it one last shot for today." The kangaskhan helps Tyler onto her back again, carefully getting back into the water.

S: "I guess so... we'll have to see what happens" Tyler holds onto his mom again as they went back into the water, hoping the hugging will help

L: "Alright, once again, just let me know when you're ready and we'll try this one more time."

S: "I'm ready already... I wanna get this over with..." Tyler tries to put on a brave face for this

L: "Okay then, deep breath!" After giving Tyler a chance to get ready, the kangaskhan dives with him once more.

S: Tyler holds his breath and starts to whimper again once they submerged, but tries to be calm somehow

L: Once the kangaskhan stops, she turns and hugs Tyler, hoping this'll at least help if not entirely calm him.

S: his mom's warm hug does seem to help him relax a bit, his whimpering quieting down as he puffs up his cheeks, but still looks scared as he tries to look around the pool to distract himself

L: Seeing that it's definitely making things at least a little bit better, the kangaskhan smiles with puffed cheeks of her own, happily blowing some bubbles.

S: Tyler let's some bubbles loose himself, starting to feel a little bit better about all this, he continues to hug his mom and playfully kick his legs around too, his face already flushing red however as he was still frightened deep down

L: Once she notices how red Tyler's face is getting, his mom surfaces with him again, keeping him on her belly this time as she floats on her back. "Looks like we're really getting somewhere now!"

S: Tyler gasps in the air
"Yeah, I guess it's not too bad...but I'm still kinda scared...maybe my friends will help me out tomorrow then... cause I don't wanna do anymore today..."

L: "Alright, that's fine. I'm sure your friends will be a big help with this." The kangaskhan gets out of the water again, bringing Tyler with her.

S: "I hope so..."

so the Kangaskhan and her son Tyler head home to relax for the rest of the day, Tyler thinking about what will happen at the pool party...and sure enough, tomorrow hits and the Kangaskhan and Tyler arrives at popplio's place for the pool party, Tyler is a little excited to show popplio that he can finally swim and dive, but he hopes that the rest of his friends can help him out further rather then with just his mom

L: Tyler and his mom get to the party, quickly meeting Popplio there.

Popplio: "Hi! Really glad you could make it! Even though you don't like water very much, Tyler..."

S: "Hey popplio! Well, this year is gonna be different... guess what? I actaully can swim and dive now! Well... I'm still scared but I can do it now!"

L: Kangaskhan: "It took some work, but we managed it!"

Popplio: "Oh wow, that's so cool! You're gonna actually be able to join in on swimming now!"

S: "Y-yeah, I guess so... but it sounds like you don't even believe that I could do it, we've been best friends for a while and I can see that look on your face!"

L: Popplio: "Yeah, I AM sort of getting the feeling you're just saying that... But hey, the pool's right over there, you can go prove it!"

S: "Well..." Tyler looks at his mom briefly before turning back to popplio "Ok, i-ill prove it to you then!"

L: Popplio: "Okay, cool! I'll see you there!" She hops into the pool.

Kangaskhan: "Are you sure you'll be okay, Tyler? Do you want me to get in with you?"

S: "No, not in front of my friends... that'll be embarrassing... i-ill be ok, maybe just sit on the edge so I at least know your here..."
Tyler then heads over to the stairs so he can get in the pool

L: Kangaskhan: "Alright, I'll be right here if you need me." She sits on the edge, watching Tyler.

S: "Ok..." Tyler then slowly gets in the pool, it didn't take long for him to start kicking his legs and swimming to poppilo, thankfully not that scared yet
"Well? Hehe..."

L: Popplio: "Woah, you were serious! That's so cool, we can have so much more fun than last year!"

S: "Yep yep! I was serious, I can really swim! I told you, hehe...now I'm sure you want proof I can dive too huh?"

L: Popplio: "Yeah, if you can dive too, that'd be even better! Especially since there's going to be a breath holding contest later!"

S: "Huh? What's a breath holding contest?" Tyler doesn't understand what that means since he has that little knowledge so far on water

L: "It'll be a bunch of people going underwater and seeing who can stay down the longest. It's a lot of fun!"

S: "Fun? That doesn't sound like a lot of fun...sounds stressful more like... how could this be a lot of fun?"

L: "Maybe liking it is more of a water type thing, but it gives everyone a chance to show off how well they can handle being underwater."

S: "Hmmm... well, I guess I could give it a shot then, if anything goes wrong my mom will save me... but first and for most I still gotta prove to you that I can actaully dive under"

L: "Yeah, I really hope you can actually do that, that'd be so cool!"

S: "Well, time to prove it then..." Tyler was a bit hesitant, but he wants to prove this to poppilo, so he takes a deep breath and lowers himself underwater puffing his cheeks, 3 seconds later he pops back up and gasps
"Ta-da!"

L: "Wow, you really can! That's awesome!" Popplio gives him a hug. Tyler's mom smiles and applauds a little.

S: Tyler blushes a tad bit and hugs popplio back, his tail giving a little wag as well, he's always really like popplio ever since they first met, they've been inseparable ever since

"T-thanks"

L: "Guess you're all ready to finally have some fun at one of these pool parties, huh?"

S: "Yeah, I guess so...we just gotta wait for the rest of our friends to show up then we can get started, heh"

L: "Yep! I bet they'll be happy you're swimming this time!"

Over a little while, everyone else arrives at the party.

S: and some of the others notice that Tyler is swimming, which shocks them and causes Tyler to give a little giggle

L: One of them, a torchic, swims to Tyler. "Hi! It's really great to see you actually in the water, Tyler!"

S: "Oh, it's you! Heh... yeah, glad you approve... almost forgot that you like to go swimming too sometimes"

another one, a shiny riolu swims over to Tyler as well

Shiny Riolu - "Well well, look at you swimming! I knew you had it in ya Tyler! Way to go!"

L: Popplio: "I was just as surprised as you guys! Now ALL of us are okay with swimming!"

S: Tyler - "Heh heh heh....yeah for the most part anyways..."
Tyler tries to hide his true fear for now, at least until it gets to the breath holding contest as he swims around with his buddies, just staying on the surface

L: Everyone has fun swimming together, and just about half an hour passes. Then, it's announced that the breath holding contest will be starting, and everyone starts gathering near the middle of the pool.

S: "Uh oh..." Tyler starts to get worried now, but he still tries to shake it off and follow everyone to the middle of the pool

Shiny Riolu - "Alright!!! I know this year I'm gonna win this time! I've been practicing!"

L: Torchic: "Hopefully I'll at least do better than most of you all!"

Popplio: "Okay, everyone ready?"

S: "I'm 100% ready! Let's do this!"

Tyler - "...uh huh...yeah, l-lets go" Tyler is hoping for the best here

L: Popplio: "...Are you sure you're ready, Tyler? You look kind of scared..."

S: Shiny Riolu - "Yeah is something wrong?"

Tyler - "Huh? No no! I'm fine! Don't worry about me!" Tyler is doing a good job at hiding his true fear

L: Torchic: "Come on, let's get started!"

Popplio: "Alright then! Every take a deep breath in 3, 2, 1!" She, Torchic, and the others all take deep breaths before diving.

S: the shiny riolu also took a deep breath and dives down with the rest, Tyler however tries to follow them down but got too scared, swimming back to the edge of the pool out of fear, and the others underwater are gonna notice that Tyler isn't with them

L: Everyone doing the breath holding contest settles onto the bottom, before they notice Tyler is missing. Popplio surfaces to look for him, and soon everyone else returns to the surface as well.

Tyler's mom looks down at him. "You okay? Still worried about diving?"

S: "I-i don't know what happened! I was trying to play it cool but it got too much for me!"

once everyone else surfaces they see Tyler sitting on the highest underwater ledge, the shiny riolu swims over to him, frowning

Shiny Riolu - "Hey, what happened buddy?"

L: Popplio: "We don't want to be having fun without you again!"

Torchic: "Yeah, exactly!"

S: Tyler - "I-i-i can't do it! I've never done a breath holding contest before...and I'm worried I'm gonna drown...plus I'm scared of diving still in general..."Tyler tears up

the shiny riolu frowns sadly at his friend

L: Kangaskhan: "You're not gonna drown, I won't let that happen!"

Popplio: "Neither will I! I'll make sure you don't go too far!" She hugs Tyler.

S: Tyler whimpers and hugs popplio back.

"I still don't know..."

the shiny riolu also gives Tyler a hug as well

Shiny Riolu - "It's gonna be alright... I won't let you drown either!"

L: Torchic: "Same here! We'll all be ready to help in case something goes wrong!"

S: Tyler looks at his other buddies which all agree as well to help in case of emergency

Tyler - "...I really don't know now...."

Shiny Riolu - "I mean you technically don't have to do this if you don't want to... but I think I'll be really nice if you were down there with us"

Tyler - "...I'm probably gonna get last nonetheless, there's no point in embarrassing myself when I go up first in less then 25 seconds...."

Tyler frowns at that fact, knowing he probably won't be able to stay calm on his own, unsure what to do

L: Popplio: "Hey, you don't know whether you'll be last! You might actually end up doing pretty well!"

Kangaskhan: "And I'm sure everyone would be okay with you just watching after you've needed to surface."

Torchic: "Yep, that'd be fine with me!"

S: Shiny Riolu - "Me too!"
everyone else agreed as well

Tyler sighs
Tyler - "I doubt that but....alright.... but I want a buddy next to me while we do this contest, cause I learned having someone close to me helps me stay calm when I tried hugging my mom underwater"

L: Popplio: "Easy, I'll stay next to you! That should help you out!"

S: Shiny Riolu - "Good idea, I'll stay relatively close to you as well"

Tyler - "Fine...I trust you guys..." Tyler is still feeling scared, but does feel better knowing his friends will keep him safe

L: Torchic: "Alright, let's get back and try again!"

Popplio: "Sounds good!" Everyone heads back to the middle of the pool again.

S: Shiny Riolu - "Perfect!"

Tyler - "...wait a minute, I saw you guys from the surface going down to the bottom of the pool...i-ive never been down that deep before! I've only been just underneith the surface... now this is gonna be extra hard for me... aw man..."

L: Popplio: "It'll be okay, it just means a bit of a longer trip back to the surface. I'm sure it'll still be pretty much fine."

S: Shiny Riolu - "Yeah it's ok..."

Tyler - "I don't know if I can handle the deep.... h-how deep is your pool again popplio?"

L: Popplio: "It's about 12 feet at its deepest part, but we can just do this in the shallow end, that's still enough."

Torchic: "I'd be fine with the shallow end, deep water like that makes me a little nervous too."

S: Shiny Riolu - "Same, but honestly I didn't mind that we were doing the deepest part the first time, but it's really up to Tyler"

Tyler - "Well, 12 feet doesn't sound that bad, I thought it was deeper then that... I guess I won't know if I can handle it unless I see how far down I can go... maybe I should test that out first before we actaully get started, but of course have someone come with me"

L: Popplio: "We can try that out together, we've still got a lot of time until the next thing that's planned for today."

S: "...I guess that'll be fine, I'm gonna need all the help I can get before we actually do this breath holding contest"

Shiny Riolu - "That's a really good idea, yeah let's do that then!"

L: Torchic: "I'll come too, may as well."

Popplio: "And hey, if it works out, we could just go straight into the breath holding contest from there!"

S: "Obviously we'll have a fresh breath before we actaully start the contest, heh...oh and, I'll come with you guys as well"

Tyler - "Alright...thanks again guys...l-lets give this a shot" Tyler looks up at his mom for a bit worringly before turning back to his buddies

L: Kangaskhan: "You've got this, Tyler! I'll be watching the whole time!"

Popplio: "Okay, deep breath everyone, let's help Tyler get to the bottom!"

S: Shiny Riolu - "You can do this my friend!"
everyone else cheers Tyler on which makes him smile a bit before glaring in determination

Tyler - "Let's do this! >:)"

L: Everyone soon dives once again, hoping Tyler will be coming with them this time.

S: and he did! Tyler took a big deep breath and held it in before diving with the others, his initial reaction being scared when he dove under

L: Everyone's smiling at Tyler, and Popplio swims to him to give him a hug. "I knew you could do it!"

S: Shiny Riolu - "Gblood jblob Tyleblr!"

Tyler smiles at everyone, and hugs popplio back... hoping he'll be able to go down towards the bottom

L: Torchic gestures that everyone should get going, and almost everybody starts swimming toward the bottom of the pool. Popplio stays with Tyler, wanting to keep close to him so he doesn't get as scared.

S: Tyler does gets scared, but he tries to keep it in the back of his mind as he follows popplio down towards the bottom of the pool, his cheeks puffed up

the shiny riolu sees that Tyler is getting scared and hangs back a bit to comfort him as they get about halfway down

L: The torchic decides to stay with the group as well, making sure Tyler stays as calm as possible.

S: Tyler smiles a bit as everyone stayed behind to help, and being surrounded by all of his friends makes him relax, letting small bubbles loose from his nostrils

L: With everyone swimming together, it's not too long before they all reach the bottom of the pool together!

S: Tyler's eyes widen as he managed to get to the bottom of the pool, the shiny riolu smiling and clapping for Tyler, proud of him

L: Torchic claps as well, and Popplio gives Tyler another hug to congratulate him.

S: Tyler hugs popplio back, his face turning red as bubbles keep escaping his nostrils

L: Popplio: "Alright, we should probably head back up now. Then we'll finally get started with the breath holding contest!"

Torchic nods, and starts swimming back up.

S: Shiny Riolu - "Alblright!" they start to swim back up as well

Tyler nods and starts to kick his way back up with popplio

L: Everyone gets back to the surface without much trouble, though Torchic is blushing a little by that point.

Popplio: "Okay, we're all set to get started!"

S: the shiny riolu and Tyler gasp for breath, tyler is still nervous tho

Tyler - "I'm still really scared tho... I don't wanna get last place and embarrass myself..."

L: Torchic: "Coming in last with these is more my thing, you probably don't have to worry. Still, I've been practicing..."

Popplio: "Even if you end up coming in last, it'll be nice that you at least joined in this time."

S: Tyler tears up at the thoughts of being last, whimpering too

Shiny Riolu - "Oh no... I think the thoughts of being last is consuming Tyler"

L: Popplio: "Hey, it's gonna be okay! We're all happy you're even willing to try!" She gives him a hug.

S: "Exactly! It's gonna be ok!" the shiny riolu hugs Tyler as well and Tyler hugs both of them back, a couple tears streaming from his eyes*

Tyler - "I-i don't know...I really don't wanna get last place, that really will bug me, and I don't wanna do poorly..."

L: Torchic: "I'm sure you'll do okay! There's a pretty good chance you'll do better than at least one of us!" He joins in on the group hug.

S: Shiny Riolu - "Yeah!"

Tyler hugs everyone back, still whimpering

Tyler - "I don't what to do to stay calm and last as long as possible...I'm gonna panic...I can feel it..."

L: Popplio: "I can just hug you the whole time, maybe that'll help?"

S: Shiny Riolu - "That's a good idea"

Tyler looks up at his mom again worryingly then back at Popplio

Tyler - "....well I guess that could help... it did calm me down when I was hugging my mom underwater after all"

L: The kangaskhan nods to Tyler.

Popplio: "Okay, we'll try that! Definitely couldn't hurt!"

S: Tyler nods back to his mom, wiping away a few of his tears

"Alright then..."

Shiny Riolu - "Let's do it then!"

L: Torchic: "Yeah, let's get started!"

Popplio: "Alright, every get ready! 3, 2, 1!" Everyone takes a deep breath and dives under.

S: thankfully Tyler takes a big deep breath and dives under with everyone else, his cheeks puffing up again

the shiny riolu smiles between his own puffed cheeks as they all start to swim to the bottom again with Tyler trying his hardest not to panic

L: Everyone soon settles onto the bottom, and once Tyler gets down there, Popplio hugs him. "Just try to stay as relaxed as you can..."

S: Tyler nods and hugs popplio back, trying to not let so many bubbles loose but constant bubbles escape his nostrils, not knowing how to stop them, they all sit down together

the shiny riolu stays near the two as he closes his eyes to relax, barely releasing any bubbles

L: To help Tyler out, Popplio covers his nose for him. "There, now you're not letting out so much air..."

S: "Mm!" Tyler was a bit surprised when popplio covered his nose, but he tries to stay still and keep relaxing, learning his head on popplio as little whimpers can be heard

the shiny riolu is still really calm, calmly sitting on the bottom with a twitch

L: Popplio: "Oh, sorry if that scared you." She's still doing perfectly fine as well, though Torchic has a very slight blush.

S: Tyler is starting to get a blush himself, but he's trying everything to stay relaxed, looking up at popplio worringly as little bubbles escape his mouth

L: Popplio: "It's gonna be okay, just try to distract yourself somehow..."

S: Tyler tries his best to not think about being in the bottom, but it's clear he's slowly getting scared overtime as he's not sure what to do to distract himself

the shiny riolu is still calm, now he's finally blushing a tad as we hit the 3 minute mark

L: Torchic is starting to get a bit restless now, his blush covering most of his face at this point. Popplio is still fine, without any sign of needing air.

S: the shiny riolu pinches his nose shut as he was still feeling fine, letting small bubbles loose

Tyler's face is growing more red, but he's determined to stay here so he doesn't get last place

L: Popplio looks over at the others to check on them, then focuses on Tyler again, whispering to him "Look at Torchic... They might be the first to surface!"

S: Tyler - "Huh?" Tyler looks in torchic's direction, noticing how red their face is, it's looking good for Tyler here which makes him smile just a bit...his cheeks still puffed up as his own face is turning more red

The shiny riolu let's out a very quiet grunt of strain as we hit 7 minutes, blowing bubbles to try and ease his lungs

L: Popplio: "All you really need to do is do better than them..."

Torchic tries to cover his beak, whining a little bit.

S: the shiny riolu growls out bubbles in determination, covering his mouth as his face grows more red

see that, Tyler covers his own mouth nervously, hoping to not waste any more air

L: Popplio watches everyone hold their breath, hoping Tyler won't be the first to surface. Torchic, meanwhile, hopes to not come in last either...

S: Tyler gets nervous as he feels his air draining more, his face is fully red as he's surprised how long he's going

the shiny riolu keeps going himself, his face less red then Tyler's but not by much, his tail flicking around

L: Torchic is watching Tyler now, since they seem to be the lowest on breath right now other than him. There's beginning to be a slight blue tint on his face as he starts struggling to keep holding his breath.

S: Tyler looks back at torchic, even with him covering his mouth, there's visible happiness on his face as he knows he may not get last place, he grunts a bit from strain...but remembering how proud his mom will be if he ends up actaully winning this, he doesn't give up...his face really red by now

L: Torchic whines a little, looking up at the surface and wishing he could just go breathe... But, as much as he doesn't want Tyler to feel bad, he wants to not be last.

Popplio is finally starting to blush just a little, clearly on her way to being the overall winner.

S: Tyler looks at popplio and her red blush, it's clear that he definitely won't last as long as her friend, with there being a total of 10 minutes now as a hint of blue is now on his face

meanwhile the shiny riolu's face is fully red, grunting more from straining

L: Popplio: "You're definitely doing a lot better than last time, Torchic!"

He nods to her, though his face is fully blue now, bubbles trickling from his beak.

S: Tyler looks at torchic with concern, hoping he won't actaully drown as his face turns more blue

the shiny riolu's face is turning bluer then normal too, looking up desperately at the surface

L: Torchic starts to shiver a little, tightly shutting his eyes... Then he lets out a couple desperate, bubbly squawks as he frantically swims for the surface, becoming the first one out!

Popplio smiles at Tyler. "You're not gonna be last!"

S: Tyler looks up at torchic swimming to the surface, his face beaming up with happiness as he watches them go up, his tail wagging a bit too, and soon enough...the shiny riolu meanwhile couldn't handle the breathless feeling anymore either, letting out a bubbly gurgle before swimming up as well, becoming the 2nd one out!

L: Popplio: "And you're not even gonna be second-last! You should probably go up though, you're not gonna be beating me..."

S: even tho Tyler's face is turning a bit more blue, he doesn't feel like stopping there, he wants to keep going and at least try to beat popplio if possible, so he shakes his head no

L: "Alright, may as well see how good your record can get!" Popplio's blush is expanding across her face, but she's still got a long time before she'll badly need air.

S: Tyler then hugs popplio tightly as his need to breathe grows, which accidently causes air to escape poppilo but not in any harm, he just needed a hug that's all as constant bubbles escape him

L: "Mmblubrbl!" Popplio lets that air bubble out, confident she'll still be able to beat Tyler at this, and she hugs him back.

S: Tyler puffs his cheeks a bit more to try and keep any air he had left in him, his face fully blue as we appreciate the 17 minute mark

L: Popplio's face is fully red now, and she's getting more and more impressed at how well Tyler is doing. Kangaskhan is definitely feeling the same, keeping an eye on him from above the water.

S: "Mmmmm!" Tyler starts to get worried he may be pushing too far, hugging popplio again tightly which once again releases some air from popplio as his face turns a tad bit purple, but he's still determined to keep going

L: "Y-you sure you're okay to keep staying here? You're getting purple now..." Popplio is more nervous about Tyler than herself.

S: Tyler's eyes widen at that, but shakes his head yes, he wants to keep going and try to beat popplio, her face now turning blue by now, and little does Tyler know, popplio isn't quite used to breathless feelings like this since she typically doesn't stay down that long on her breath holding contests as we now hit the 21st minute!

L: At this point, Popplio is starting to even struggle herself, and she covers her mouth with a flipper as she watches Tyler. She's starting to think she might end up losing after all, not being good at handling being so low on breath...

S: Tyler notices popplio struggling, he may end up getting the W after all! He just had to hang on for a bit longer, he covers his mouth with both hands, his tail flicking around wildly, his face more purple as he squeezes his eyes shut with constant bubbles escaping him, 23 and a half minutes passing by in total

L: Both of Popplio's flippers are on her mouth now... And she can't take the breathless feeling any more, exhaling bursts of bubbles as she quickly swims to the surface, leaving Tyler the winner!

S: Tyler opens his eyes and notices that popplio is surfacing, his eyes widen as he's the only one left, he won! He bubbles a bit happily as he waits for popplio to surface, once she did, he then hurriedly kicks his legs up to the surface, thankfully getting there without any issues as he gasps heavily and coughs a bit, catching his breath

L: Popplio is panting, while the others have long since caught their breath by now.

Torchic: "You actually beat Popplio! I didn't think anyone ever would!"

S: Shiny Riolu - "I don't believe it... first day I've seen Tyler swim and he actually beat popplio! No way!"

Tyler - "Hah....hah....hah...i-i...did it...I beat popplio...how did this happen?! Wow!!"

L: Popplio is panting and holding onto the edge of the pool. "I-I'm just... R-really bad at handling longer holds..."

S: Once he caught his breath, Tyler goes over and climbs out of the pool, running over to his mom with glee
"Mom! Did you see me?? I actaully beat popplio! I don't even know how long I stayed under to accomplish that!"

L: Kangaskhan: "That was awesome! I was timing you down there, that was just over 23 and a half minutes!"

Popplio: "That's a little past my record!"

S: Tyler's mouth drops open
"Huh?!?! Are you serious?! Who knew my little lungs were so strong!"

Shiny Riolu - "...amazing... great job Tyler!! I'm so proud of you!" the shiny riolu claps his paws together happily

L: Kangaskhan: "So am I, great work!"

Popplio: "Looks like you could teach ME a few things, haha!"

S: Tyler - "Ha ha very funny! Let's just take a break from that for now and just have some fun!"

Shiny Riolu - "That's fine with me!"

L: Torchic: "Same here!"

Popplio: "Yep, there's still a lot left to have fun with that's planned out!"

S: Tyler - "Sweet!"

and so, Tyler and his buddies spend the rest of the day having fun at the pool party with ehats planned out, Tyler feeling extremely proud of himself for managing to get this far, and his mom couldn't be any more proud then she already is! Tyler is looking forward to future dives too!

so you use SFM or GMOD to make the image and then use GMP to add things like bubbles and blushing

Pretty much. I also use it to add cheeks if I can't do that in Gmod/SFM and I want them.
