Likely to ward off potential predators who would try to go after the infants before they are capable of defending themselves! "Hey, I'm just glad I could convince you to take a chance. Now, everyone's happy, especially my little girl."
"Look, Mommy!" Mocha squealed as she hugged the giant chao's heel. "Orange is just like me! He just keeps growing and growing and growing!"
"Yep, I see that." Cream just sighed and looked up at the massive creature that was now their newest pet. "Are you ready to take care of him, Mocha? As big as he is, it isn't going to be easy."
"Oh I know, Mommy! But I promise, I'll do everything I can to make sure Orange is well taken care of! I just know we'll be the bestest best friends ever!" Mocha gasped as she was pushed back by another growth spurt, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Good job, Orange! You got even bigger! You get as big as you want, one day I'll be just as big as you, and then even bigger! We'll be the best growers in the world!"
All the while, the massive chao just kept sleeping, spurting larger and larger and making his new owner happier and happier by the minute.

Finally, Orange is added to the Prower family! I'd been working on this for quite some time and I would've been finished sooner, but I caught a major flu and then I also had some...gastrointestinal issues to go with it.
